Hello All, I am interested in mining this coin, however, I am having a few issues. First, how do I modify the wallet miner to use a lower number of cores. I don't know anyone ... or any computer ... who is cool with running all eight cores 24/7. Since I also GPU and HDD mine on this machine, I need a core or two free. I searched the hodlcoin folder under appdata and everywhere else I could think of and can not find a configuration file for the miner. I'm a novice at code but I know how to create a batch file if someone could help me understand what I'm doing. I did manage to mine a block before it went down so that was nice
but I was hoping to wake up to more
Second, at first, I tried to mine with a pool, signed up at suprnova.cc and the miner was running perfectly... after an hour I still did not see any stats on the website and it did not show my worker as active. I verified the username.worker and psw were identical... still nothing showed up. Is the website accurate? I also tried to mine at
http://hodl.optiminer.pl/ but never could get their miner to work, kept saying no response from host. Were they possibly down yesterday or am I just doing all of this wrong?
Like I said, I'm interested, but need a little help.
Thanks!
@Cannabisdreams have you tried making a configuration file?
If not give that a shot okay...
- in the main HOdl directory add a file and name it hodl.conf
- add this command genproclimit=8
- change that number 8 to the number of cores you choose to run
Now when you load HOdl it should read that configuration file and use the amount of cores you tell it to.
Also you can reduce HOdl's memory usage if need be by adding this other command line to the .conf file...
minermemory=1Finally after you boot the miner and get it running you can click on the
Help Tab and then
Debug Window and then
Console and then type the command
getmininginfo and it will then give you the genproclimit so you can verify your command worked.
