941  Economy / Services / Re: Offering Free Escrow Service on: May 03, 2013, 04:14:18 AM
It's interesting. However, I can see people [not necessarily you] offering it for free, and then when you have a few thousand bit coins on your hand, and have spent a few hours setting it up, realize it is very tempting to take 1btc for your efforts, regardless of whether or not it was pre-agreed to.
942  Economy / Services / Re: I will give 1 mBTC to every person that joins this MC server on: May 03, 2013, 04:11:45 AM
Do you mind not spamming your fucking referral link on yet another board?

/rage Tongue

The forum is a shared place, not your own playground to monopolize.

It's a place for services, I'm giving people btc for joining a server. I see no problem here.

There's a limit, and based on whats shown here and elsewhere, your trying to bend it.  Advertising your referral link (not even your own website), is most definitely not a service first of all, and second of all, it is spamming.
943  Economy / Services / Re: WANTED: Signature Space of Hero Members/Extremely Active Members on: May 03, 2013, 04:08:48 AM
I plan on reaching this level soon. However, a silver dime isn't worth that much, how long do you want the signature for in exchange for that (i.e. 1 month, 2 month, forever ect.)

Probably not the best section for this.
945  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is my Mhash/s Good? on: May 03, 2013, 04:05:49 AM
Ok, but do you have free electricity?

What does this have to do with anything he is asking?

I think it's relevant, because if he has free electricity, then his has rate is fine because he will make money no matter what. However, if he doesn't than it is not a good hash rate because he will probably spend more in electricity that he will get for that.

However, honestly, 40mh/s is nothing in the overall scheme of things (though still better than nothing), and if you wanted real profits you should get a higher level amd.
946  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Litecoin GPU mining on a Mac? on: May 03, 2013, 04:04:05 AM
When you say descent video card what do you mean? Unless your electricity is free, I wouldn't recommend it because you will probably not even cover electricity costs. Most mac book pros I know of are Nvidia, and even my current alienware laptop (few weeks old) which has a 2gb nvidia 650 (ahead of the top of the line mac book pros today) will make $0.20 max using btc mining. Litecoin even if it was twice as possible would make $0.40. Therefore, since your mining will most likely be slower, unless your electricity is free, you most likely won't even make your electricity back.

Also, mac book pros don't have the best cooling system, and the last thing you want is your computer on fire, or burning some vital component.
947  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Suing MtGox for $75m is a dick move. on: May 03, 2013, 03:19:22 AM
I don't think they should do that, but then again, if they think they could win the law suit, then they'll do it. No they probably don't have the best interests of bitcoin at heart, but most people don't, most people only care about the money.
948  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is LTC Dependent on BTC value at all? on: May 03, 2013, 03:18:29 AM
I think that when BTC are taken over by Asics, people with GPUs will move to Litecoins, and when that happens, they will begin to enjoy litecoins more and litecoins will slowly become more popular with the miners versus bitcoins, which I think will make Litecoins more popular overall. Then when someone figures out how to make an Asic equivalent for Litecoins, a new currency will do the same and so on.
949  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: wemineltc.com is ripping me off on: May 01, 2013, 06:28:31 AM
I can see your anger, I couldn't get litecoin mining to work nearly at all for me, so I switched over to bitcoins until they can get that solved. I'm hoping that by the time Asics make bitcoins unprofitable and I have to switch my GPU to Litecoins (since they can't have Asics as far as I understand), someone would have made the Guiminer for litecoins like the Guiminer for bitcoins, with a pool I can reliably connect to... all the time.

I would take your brand new system and just set it up to mine bitcoins until they become unprofitable...

Also, while I understand your anger, you might want to right your post in a more mature and appropriate manner, it'll come off better, and there is a higher chance of people caring about what you have to say. Also you probably shouldn't have dumped a bunch of money into a mining rig setup until you figured out how to get it working, that's what I'm doing. Get it working on my gaming laptop, before switching over and building a high end setup.
950  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ASIC wars, devil in the distribution. Has Avalon killed all other startups? on: May 01, 2013, 06:21:34 AM
Very interesting, however, I think that many people put enough money into BFL, that they will continue to worry about them for a while to come, especially if BFL can start delivering. I think Asics will destroy the market for the average person trying to get in, which may cause people to have less interest, which will cause the price of bitcoins to go down, and as such, the profit with asics to go down, which I'm hoping may give me enough time to jump in with a GPU miner and collect some bitcoins before it becomes unprofitable again (assuming that all works  Roll Eyes ).

I know that I personally plan on switching over to Litecoins after the Bitcoins are flooded by Asics (though I may purchase my own Asic for bitcoins), so that I can use GPU miner, since from what I've heard you basically  can't make an Asic for Litecoins, so high end GPU miners are the top of the line, which is cool by me:). Frankly I find building a GPU miner much more enjoyable compared to plugging in an Asic.

I sometimes talk about it. Most people are a lot more interested in the setups with 6 graphics cards than the bitcoin mining, however it is something that me and my friends talk about regularly as we all do find it interesting.
952  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this a good graphic card for Litecoin mining? (AMD Radeon™ HD 7990 Graphics) on: May 01, 2013, 06:15:49 AM
This topic seemed to get pretty complex, but if you don't have an 7990 right now I don't recommend getting one as it is not the most cost effective on you can purchase. Stick with a 2 [7950s], however, another thing people did not take into account is if its not to expensive and your motherboard can only hold 1 slot then the 7990 will give you the best hash rate/slot so that is also something you might want to take into account, as it may be more expensive but cheaper in cost and electricity wise than getting a whole new motherboard setup because your current one can only hold one. Just throwing that out there:)
953  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BAMT 0.5c - cgminer 2.6.1 - Litecoins - Motherboard burst into flames on: May 01, 2013, 04:57:23 AM
Dang that sucks. At least you managed to catch it. I heard about someone in Canada whose house burned down. Imagine if you had set it up like that, and then gone away for a few hours or something, because the fire didn't start instantly, imagine what could have happened.  Shocked How did you put out the fire?

You have a nice way of analyzing cryptocurrencies, great idea, I may pick up on it later. Thanks for the information, and congratulations to you and your success.

Ok, I think I figured out the problem (same as it was when I first started mining with bitcoins... yesterday Smiley facepalm. Anyway. My computer couldn't connect to give-me-ltc.com (it was most likely down), so I just switched over to coinotron and alls well:)
956  Other / Beginners & Help / GUI Miner Scrypt Help on: April 30, 2013, 05:43:41 AM
Hello Everyone,
I am trying to use the Gui Miner Scrypt to mine some litecoins and I need some help. I am using give-me-ltc

So I have everything downloaded and such, and I opened up the miner and entered the following values:

Host: http://us-pool.give-me-ltc.com
Port: 8080

(These were given on their website here) https://give-me-ltc.com/gettingstarted

Username: cameronpalte.1 (what I named my first worker)
Password: that first workers password

Device: [1-0] GeForce GT 650M
Extra Flags: Non
Thread Concurrency: 128 (didn't no this so picked some number I thought would be too small vs. too high
Worksize: 256
Intensity: 12
Vectors: 1
GPU Threads: 1

Yet when I hit start, the bottom right just says starting, but doesn't change to showing me my mining rate, which I'm assuming means it hasn't actually started.

Can anyone give me some advice?
957  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mhash/s not matching what its says online. on: April 30, 2013, 04:09:44 AM
I have found that sometimes it can drop quite a bunch if I leave it running for a while. Not sure about the cause yet, but I've had my card at 21.7 mH (its slow I know).. and then leave it for a few hours and when I come back its done to like 5mH. Trying to find a solution. That may be destroying your averages though.
