943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: interesting take for a new coin. REDLINE . [REV] on: August 27, 2014, 05:54:19 PM

my initial thoughts were to just change the block time based on difficulty, and not do any actual checking beyond that
like any other coin changes blocktime based on hashrate, higher hash shortens the block time, then it retargets back to "correct time"

i assume you can get difficulty from the last block?

944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: interesting take for a new coin. REDLINE . on: August 27, 2014, 06:56:20 AM
OK

this is the basic idea.
945  Other / Meta / Re: BCT Admins plz give us these 3 users(altcoin scammers) dat on: August 25, 2014, 08:27:47 AM

i think any dev making outright lies needs to be outed at the least.

crypto is not some elite liberal paradise where you can go around fucking people over for personal benefit.

ha.
946  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Atomic Trade New Virtual Currency Exchange USD BTC on: August 24, 2014, 01:11:32 PM
ha.
what you need is to store all your data in a seperate blockchain.

--
A good majority of this could have been avoided.

Exchange owners need to quit relying on their databases and start using the wallets features to their advantage.

Trader creates an account on the website: web server either assigns them a unique customer id number or uses their email address or other unique identifier, calls getaccountaddress "userid" and tells the customer to send to that address to fund their account.

Trader receives coins to fund their account: web server isn't involved.

Trader is shown their current balance: getbalance "userid" 6 to get their 'confirmed' balance, and subtracts it from getbalance "userid" 0 to get their 'unconfirmed' balance.

Show the trader a list of transactions: listtransactions "userid"

Trader sends coins to another bitcoin address: sendfrom "userid" <address> <amount> - This prevents the server wallet balance from getting drained by an individual user, ask Cryptsy or Coinex about that one.

Trader transfers coins to another trader: move "userid1" "userid2" <amount>

Trader is charged a fee for use of the service: move "userid" "FEES" <amount> (using special accounts like "FEES" can make your application's logic much simpler)

This way when your database takes a shit but you still have the wallet you will be able to correlate user account names and their account balances.

I've seen it happen several times and I have seen the damage from sending funds from the server wallet using "sendtoaddress" AKA sending from their main wallet instead of using "sendfrom" which will only allow people/users to move/withdraw available funds.

Using "sendtoaddress" is what caused a lot of exchanges to get their entire server wallet drained, when if they would have used "sendfrom" the most that could ever be sent/withdrawn from a user account is what was actually in their account.

This would be helpful in this situation because even if you didn't know the trades that occurred you would know that all the users balances are correct.

947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 0NE project|*~2k blocks left*|development 0NE Center|0NE Engine| on: August 23, 2014, 12:53:06 PM
A good pool??

PoW rewards are zero now.

don't know if there's a multipool but probably not. 0NE has been pretty low profile..

they do seem to be working on an extended/relaxed time frame.

which is annoying but fair enough. as the coin is to be used in conjunction with their online business
951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / interesting take for a new coin. REDLINE . [REV] on: August 21, 2014, 05:52:53 AM
this is an interesting idea.
I AM NOT GOING TO MAKE THIS COIN.
the idea is purely for sharing..

REDLINE
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
a racing currency with variable block times..
the higher the hash the faster the blocks.

IDLING, as we sit on the starting line, until block 100 when the real PoW begins.
the flag drops and we hit
FIRST gear, as hash and difficulty rise we shift through the gears until we hit
FOURTH gear, and push up into the
REDLINE

//
this is racing PoW style. block times our engine speed, and difficulty our total speed.

with block times changing from 10 minutes to 20 seconds depending on mining difficulty.
as mining increases we get faster and faster until we hit redline,a gear shift and we go up a gear,
the blocks get slower and then increase again with increased difficulty/hashrate.

PoW period will end at block 18,000
when will it end ? 1 week ? 5 days ? 4 days ?

PoS will have it's own racing style. The more coins staked the larger the rewards and the shorter the block time.
rewards varying from 1% coins to 5% coins per block.

//
at first as we idle at the starting line, blocks are relaxed at 10 minutes.
PoW gives low returns and difficulty increases and does little to influence times ..

then as we hit block 100, the race is on.

PROPOSED DIFFICULTY VS BLOCK TIMES
Proof of Work

IDLING ->    block 100      10 minutes

GEARS
FIRST       0 - 2 GHS,    10 minutes - 2 minutes
2ND         2- 30 ghs,    8 minutes - 1 minutes
3RD         30 -60 ghs   8 minutes - 1 minutes
4TH         60 - 120ghs   8 minutes - 30 seconds
REDLINE      120 ghs ->   30 seconds - 20 seconds

Proof of Stake

DISCLAIMER : i know very little about network weighting so am unwilling to offer any figures here other than proposed block times.
as network weight increases, block time decreases.

90 - 45 seconds.

//
.. V1.2 .. NOTES ..

might be good to increase overall mining time by incorporating such as a "hill climb" after "the sprint"

all values as displayed are used for demonstration purposes, these figures have been generated spontaneously and may benefit from further consideration.

further research may be useful to decide on targeted hash rates for gear shifts. also whether a 5th gear may be useful.
ALSO whether set difficulties vs sliding difficulty ratio against block time would be better.
i.e. diff a= blocktime 60sec
diff b = blocktime 40sec
OR
an algorithmic response to changing difficulty

weighting of Coins Staked will be strongly effected by coins held on exchange.

further idea maybe to adapt tx fees against volume of transactions (block size), plausibly setting a global minimum with  additions depending on last 5 avg block size.
this may result in problems for transactions that are delayed or manual that have mismatching fee value.

anime influence would be good for all artwork style.

952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][SOON] SOON COIN .. coming soon™ // bounties added on: August 15, 2014, 06:07:34 AM

sorry to say, lunch has been extended beyond the afore mentioned time-frame.
as such, i can only say SOON will be coming soon, still.

we are very excited at the possibilities that stretch before us in the un-tapped soon to be experienced future.

soon.

cryptoskills

glad to hear you're aware of it,
i thought it was probably related to the mini amounts..

it's strange though that my wallet seems to be aware of some failed transactions.
(at least the ones it was awake for i guess)
and that some larger transactions seemed to fail when lower ones succeeded.

it is beyond me :/

good luck Smiley
954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 0NE project|*~2k blocks left*|development 0NE Center|0NE Engine| on: August 13, 2014, 08:06:04 AM

Hello, i checked and it was my fault!

I forgot to set up a lower amount to payout.

Now every payout should be running.

Let me know, thanks. Smiley

Kranio.

well the good news is it's moving Smiley received a few deposits.
the bad news is i have a bunch of unconfirmed deposits.. Sad

here is a pic of all transactions i've received since you fixed the payout.

the first  unconfirmed i received was the balance of all the missed transfers:  31/07/2014 14.38
then obviously the other grey ones .. you can see the times as before the latest transfers receiving some confirmations.

cryptoskills.
it still looks like your pool hasnt paid out properly .

this looks like the pool address
http://vps81017.ovh.net:2750/address/16vieZQHZinj2TKoxYfLWxvwW11gBrJzuM

it appears to me that there should have been more paid out Smiley

seems we are in a waiting stage.
no block rewards, no exchange Smiley

i'm waiting yay

humorously now entered into the zero reward time.
PoW is still going, but with zero payout.

keep mining.

960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SCAM PRO PayProCoin on: August 01, 2014, 01:42:04 PM

////

there was someone on the main thread who said they bought PayPro coins off instant-bitcoins.
i recall because they said they received an amount equal to paying 2500 sat rather than the 4000 sats mentioned on site.

however i cant find it now..
whether it's cos my drunken browsing is below average or it's been removed. i dont know :/

No you're mistaken.  People said they would try it but before it happened the thread got locked.

hmm could be. BUT I REMEMBER !!!
