943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRC on BTC-E! Collecting supporters! on: February 20, 2013, 11:12:01 AM
Maybe you should send 110k TRC and they would open Cheesy

Haha that made me laugh Tongue

I asked BTC-e to add TRC to their trade just because it would help spread the word about TRC... but tbh after the NVC drama that has taken place recently I am not so keen on BTC-e so I don't think it is the end of the world if they don't accept it tbh... I think with the other currency exchanges on board... it is only a matter of time before BTC-e realizes that they should add it as they are missing out on trades and their cut in the exchange, and tbh it allows TRC proper time to grow and other exchanges to boost up their user base...
but yeah I asked them to include it.. so I done my part Smiley
944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LOL] NOVASCAM price show going on at BTC-e on: February 20, 2013, 10:13:03 AM

945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Save any files to namecoin blockchain on: February 20, 2013, 09:26:46 AM
Yeah, I am very excited by this so excellent detective work running Smiley

Yeah sunny, my thoughts were that if it can be done to namecoin then surely it can be done to any coin?? so this poses a potential threat to all currencies right? just as much as someone could 51% attack a chain with enough hashing power... anyone could also now bloat the blockchain with enough power / time and kill anyone with small HDD right and ruin the blockchain for that currency?
946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRC Hashrate picking up: How to Solo Mine (while there is still time!) on: February 20, 2013, 08:53:30 AM
did the diff go >9000 or not yet?? did i catch up while theres time?

No the difficulty is still lowish (relative to a week or so ago) .. from coinotron at 09:00 20th Feb 2013

TRC    15.8 GH    85%   19   0:0 h    0.00019    1000.8    0.55

so difficulty at 1000.

Just sooo much goodness in this thread Cheesy
948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have friecoin to sell on: February 19, 2013, 04:55:06 PM
Freicoin is SHA256 encrypted, so bitcoin ASICs will work on it which would mean the current difficulty could be actually very low for what it will be in the near future....
949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not a alt-coin, but better. Alt-communications on: February 19, 2013, 02:15:34 PM
nice find Smiley i'll be looking into this more for sure
950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is novapool.zapto.org scam or good pool ??? on: February 19, 2013, 01:33:39 PM
Wow, is this the first NovaCoin service that is not a scam??  Huh Huh

-1 it's all a scam.

Right, these alt coins are scam. Only LTC you heavy invested is not a scam. TRC is the retarded coin. NVC is nerd valued coin. Right?

I'd stick to BTC if u think all alt coins are scams... they are speculation and dev areas the altcoins... and yeah a few scam coins out there, but the scam coins are usually fished out and rejected by the community....

If you are here for information or the interest in an alternative use of the blockchain then look into namecoins... if u are here to make a quick buck.. then it not gonna happen... either u have to speculate on a coin and hold ur earnings waiting for the day when it is worth something... but y would that coin take off as opposed to others? If you are keep to support another currency for the development of Bitcoin and its security then I suggest u look into PPCoin as it is testing the proof of stake implementation. R u a developer? if so then put some vlaue into the coins by developing apps and websites that people will use to promote the coin... TRC for me is the most interesting in this field as most BTC apps can be ported across to TRC and I am working on a number of projects myself atm.... or if u into marketing then advertise and promote the coin you feel has the best chance of success....

last but not least from my own personal perspective I would stay away from NVC as this has had a contravertial start and still no full disclosure on the amount of premining that happened.
951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WTT] My TRC for LTC on: February 19, 2013, 12:58:30 PM

956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC difficulty dropping constantly on: February 18, 2013, 11:52:03 PM
i think what gives litecoin a bright future is that because it's one of the only (viable) alt out there that uses scrypt, it means that these new asics can't be used to exploit the otherwise low hashrate on the alt networks.

someone coud easily 51% an alt network based on SHA256 with -one- of these ASIC's, let alone two or three.

food for thought.

ur logic also makes a good case for PPC and the "proof of stake" concept... and agreed TRC is very vulnerable to an attack by anyone with an ASIC, but just food for thought... it could aid the development of the coin... as ASICs are already developed for the coin and hence people could mine it with ASICs at the speculative angle and protect the network from attack... someone generally needs a reason to attack a coin as well if they are to divert their hashing power away from the BTC chain (i can understand attacking a coin the community does not like due to premining or that the dev is scamming people).. but I think if a coin is to see a future it has to have fair  startup, constant development (both patches to the code, and open source code for services), adoption by exchanges and pools... and probably a few other things that people are screaming at me for not mentioning Smiley

yet something like BBQcoin interests me in that there we have a chain that was 51% attacked yet is still alive and churning out blocks, it is essentially the TRC of LTC... and it is a great learning ground to play with low hashrates and mining setups.  Allows people to play around with sending coins and transactions and the wallet.dat files etc.. and it is "a bit of fun" quoted by the original dev.

Ok so where am I going with this... essentially i'm in the thoughts that I think that we place a LOT of emphasis on bit and alt coins being worth $$ value and LTC I think falls into the same category as Ixcoin to a degree in this area... the community is somewhat made up of miners that enjoy the lower difficulty moments and high exchange to BTC rate so are keep to cash out LTC into BTC... yet there is a wide fan base that speculate that LTC will be worth more as BTC goes up (thus protecting the network and its value somewhat), and it is just that there is a higher ratio of investor speculators and market players to dumpers for BTC in LTC as opposed to IXC which is solely due to merge mining and lack of devs and investors.

Yes LTC offers a different hashing algorithm, but it is solely trying to be a currency coin copy of BTC.  Crypto currencies for me are adopted by the minority of the world atm and all the altcoins offer insight into what can be done with a network of sharing, public openness of the blockchain yet maintaining a level of anonymity.  I think we are still in the very early days, and a comparison that comes to mind is Napster.  The way it was the music sharing software idea that changed the way we get, listen to and share music. But it was not long before people realised that you could share more than just music, soon the movies, books and other files, programs and games were suddenly available to share between each one another.  Namecoin is a good example of what else one can do with the blockchain, and I think we will see more of what can be done with the blockchain over the course of time.  BUT (and correct me if I'm wrong) It would take a hard fork of LTC to use the blockchain for other things right? is that not a limitation of LTC that it is only a currency copy like BTC...?? and all currently started currency blockchains? Am I correct in this thinking? Please do feel free to enlighten me as I learn seem to learn something new every day Smiley

957  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is wrong with Fricoin? on: February 18, 2013, 11:06:01 PM
everything.

Oh god...

"Demurrrage is what you are worried about? Demurrage is a joke... who cares if i have 5% less coins in a year if my coins double the value in that year?"

think of your bitcoins that way, think of them.

+1

I view BTC as a success because of its "deflationary" model.. as well as putting the control of peoples "money" back in the hands of the people
958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC difficulty dropping constantly on: February 18, 2013, 10:57:11 PM
I guess going up by 15% is dropping constantly by your accord

most here appear to be too short sighted. Line going up on the 1 second chart is equivalent to "always going up".

It's called tunnel visionCheesy

959  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: HD7770 & HD7750 mining thread on: February 18, 2013, 10:26:31 PM
Sorry was a typo getting them round the wrong way.. I have set my 7750 at core clock 900... memory clock 400 I can get down to on MSI Afterburner

Still only runs at 121Mhash average.. but I suppose that all I gonna get out of the card, ty for all your help crazyates least now i using less power with a lower memory clock
960  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: HD7770 & HD7750 mining thread on: February 18, 2013, 01:24:11 PM
Thanks for the replies... still can only average 121Mhash on this card... tried the setting you suggested, and played with worksize and intensity a little from the suggestions here https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison but looks like this is possibly the most i can squeeze out of this card for now it seems... set core clock to 800MHz and Memory Clock to 900MHz and power limit + 20% so everything up high... can go higher on core clock and memory clock but tends to crash the card
If you're setting your core to 800, you want your memory at 650. High memory does not translate into higher hasrate, it just means higher temps and higher power consumption.

Ok ty I did not know this... i just assumed u needed to max out the clocks as much as possible... i have set mem clock to 900 and core to 650 and seem to be squeezing out a little extra on the hasrate... will see how it runs for a few hours and if there is any difference... but thank you again for the info and educating me Cheesy
