Xavi was seeing it just as a friendly. He even made a statement after the match like they played a friendly match but Arsenal played a Champions League match. Because Arsenal's performance was really just like that. The players were on the pitch to get a solid win as much as possible. But it wasn't the case for Barcelona exactly.

Xavi was just focused on giving as much chance as possible to all of his players to help them gain some match fitness. But I still like the way Arsenal played against them. Because a friendly match really turned into a much more serious and enjoyable one thanks to that.    This is what I love about Arsenal the most.

IEM Cologne Play-in matches are going on. I saw NIP quite weak against MOUZ interestingly. They have been a better team than MOUZ so far. I thought that they would win the series by 2-1. But they couldn't even resist MOUZ much on especially the second map. There is another chance for NIP still.

They are going to face Imperial. Truthfully Imperial are no different than MOUZ when we look at their placement in rankings. However Imperial's recent form has been impressive. They even defeated Vitality in a BO3 series not a long time ago. They can show a really impressive team performance when they are fully concentrated.

NIP will be the favourite by bookmakers most probably but I'm thinking of giving Imperial a chance.  

Marco Verratti is also leaving for the Saudi team Al-Hilal now. He has actually been an important part of PSG until now. I wasn't expecting him to leave so soon. He isn't even near the end of his contract now as he has still 3 more years. But it looks like they have offered PSG and especially Verratti a really great offer that is hard to reject.

Saudi teams continue to make big transfers. It is like they still have an unlimited amount of money. There is still a long time to the end of the transfer window. We have barely got past the first half of the summer. The biggest transfer will be Mbappe's going there if it really happens.

But for now there is still no green light by Mbappe.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are both lacking an important thing in their squad now which is a striker. They both have strikers in their squads technically of course but they don't have a reliable one for especially the Champions League. Bayern Munich's performance was quite inadequate for this reason last season as well.

Real Madrid have also lost Benzema and loaned Joselu. But Joselu has surely been brought as a replacement for their future main striker. But they have still not made up their mind on a target yet. There are only rumours on the internet.

But I believe both teams will manage to solve their striker problem before this transfer window closes. But I can't be confident about the time period before the season starts officially.

Bayern Munich most probably expected a way lower asking price compared to Kane's. But as far as I know Juventus don't want to accept any bid below his current market value - 70 million euros. In this situation they must have preferred to bring Kane instead. In the end he is way more experienced and one of the numbered strikers in the world also.

Juventus might not even be able to sell Vlahovic according to the things going on recently. Because PSG are said to have an interest in Hojlund also. Bayern Munich's situation is like we discussed. Maybe Real Madrid might be interested in Vlahovic for this season but I don't know.

Sabitzer is a done deal for Dortmund as you know. After Bellingham's departure there was a big space in the central midfield. I was wondering if they would sign another talented youngster to the position. But it looks like they haven't scouted any such player to this position. Therefore they decided to go for an experienced midfielder like Sabitzer.

It is still a good transfer though. Sabitzer isn't only an experienced midfielder. He is a quality player also and a good choice for maintaining their level in the Bundesliga. But still I won't expect Dortmund to just give a long break to scouting new youngsters to the team.

Dortmund's vision necessitates bringing talented youngsters to help them improve their skills. They are mostly sold to bigger teams after that.

The current round of the qualifiers has started with today's matches. Zalgiris - Galatasaray was one of those matches also. Truthfully I was expecting a comfortable match for Galatasaray. Wilfried Zaha and Bakambu couldn't play due to joining the team after the registration process ended for the first leg. But still there was a huge quality gap on paper.

However the match didn't start and continue just as I expected. Galatasaray were struggling to create absolute goal chances and finishing them with goals. Zalgiris found two absolute goal chances and wasted. But those were the signs of danger. Not much time after they really got 1-0 ahead.

This goal woke Galatasaray players up and they made a really good comeback to get 2-1 ahead. Still the match ended by 2-2. I guess there was some complacency there. But I believe Galatasaray can finish them off with a decent win in their own stadium in the second leg.

Technically Tottenham board don't want to keep Kane. They have given the chairman Levy an ultimatum to sell Kane this summer. Because there is literally no sense in being stubborn to keep him for Levy from now on. He knows already that Kane doesn't want to sign a contract extension with Tottenham.

This means that Tottenham are losing him by the end of this season anyway. To not lose him without a fee Levy should lean towards a sensible deal with Bayern Munich now. Bayern Munich are already waiting for a positive answer from their side. They will make their third offer for Kane.

I was confident Mbappe wouldn't choose a Saudi Arabian team thinking of signing a multi-year deal with them. However there is a really tempting offer on the table for him now. He can play for Al-Hilal for only one season and join Real Madrid right after that freely. In the meantime he will make tons of money varying from 200 million euros to 700 million.  

It goes up to 700 million when we add commercial deals to his contract also. As the transfer fee offered to PSG was 300 million they directly accepted that. Now Al-Hilal are waiting for Mbappe's decision.

I believe the best thing to do for Mbappe now is to play for Al-Hilal one season to get this enormous package and join Real Madrid after that just as he has wanted to.

There are only two days left for the Champions League qualifier matches to begin. There is a Zalgiris - Galatasaray match among them also. This is technically a comfortable match for the Turkish side on paper. Besides Galatasaray have just announced that they have made another significant transfer.

They have added Wilfried Zaha also into their squad now. It was said that Galatasaray were planning to offer 8 million pounds a year to Zaha. As Crystal Palace have parted ways with him also there was no need for a transfer fee too. Maybe he is 30 years old but I believe he is still a quality player.

Chelsea are also planning to intervene and make an offer for Mbappe according to some sources. Technically Al-Hilal have a way bigger potential offer for Mbappe. They are planning to offer 200 million euros for his transfer fee and 400 million euros per year for his contract also. This is like a dream offer for any player for sure.

However I don't expect Mbappe to accept any offer outside Europe at least for now. Therefore Chelsea should be comfortable about that. They had better meet PSG and Mbappe's demands both firstly. After that they will most probably have to fight against Real Madrid. I don't think Mbappe would prefer Chelsea to Real Madrid.

No matter how high salary a Saudi team offer to Mbappe I won't be expecting him to join them. It's that simple for me. Because he is still 24 years old now and there is no reason for him to leave Europe also. If he wasn't the biggest earner among all the players in Europe by far then maybe there would have been a small probability for him to leave.

But there is no such situation now. After leaving PSG he will continue to make this kind of money at the team he will go to also. While he has no problem with his salary his only focus should be to win more titles from now on. He should be focusing on becoming a legend by having bigger achievements in the rest of his career with the right team for himself.

I'm also positive about Leverkusen for this season. Normally they were already a strong member of top 4 in the Bundesliga. Things went sideways last season but still Xabi Alonso fixed the most of the problems lately. Finishing in 6th place after a beginning like that was a sign for doing better things this season I think.

In last season Union Berlin and Freiburg had a big opportunity to be a part of the last member of top 4 and Union Berlin made it. But for this season both of their job will be much more difficult against Xabi Alonso's Leverkusen.

I believe in Xabi Alonso to do a good job in the fight for a Champions League spot. This is his first proper experience as a manager but he is doing pretty well already. If he carries this team to the Champions League also then he might get the attention of bigger teams for a job offer maybe who knows.

Osimhen must be very satisfied with his performance and team effort both last season. It was a really successful season for Napoli after all these years. He must be enjoying his football at Napoli for now so I don't expect him to put pressure on his team to let him go this summer. There isn't even any official offer coming for him due to his high asking price.

Napoli are trying to sign a new deal with Osimhen also. They think of putting a release clause which is worth 160 million euros too. If they become successful on this task then they should be completely relieved about his probability of being signed by another team for more years. Otherwise he has only 2 years left on his contract.

Real Madrid are going to have their last season with Ancelotti. I guess Ancelotti would like to say a decent goodbye to the team before his departure. Last season was pretty bad for them. They couldn't be competitive enough not only in the La Liga but also the Champions League. This was a big decline considering the season before that one.

I think the reason was only concentration issues. I don't believe it had anything to do with their squad quality. Because there wasn't a big change between last season and the season before about that. They must have lost their focus which led them to be out of title races in big tournaments.

Ancelotti needs to prepare his players well for this season this time while they are strengthening the squad even more.

Yeah he is confirmed to drive for them from now on. I expect him to be faster than Tsunoda after a short time period. But in his first race I really don't know. He has been far away from F1 for a long time despite still being one of the most earners in the sport. But his results in tyre testing session wasn't bad that much.

For his first race I won't be betting on points finish for Ricciardo. But after this race I think why not give it a try? 

I think Ricciardo can collect more points than Tsunoda despite coming here in the middle of the season. Tsunoda still has only 2 points.
