I want a shell script which check whether bitcoind is running or not and to relaunch it. Is there a way to do this? I have a home 24/7 node and sometimes it crash( power off etc) and i like to relaunch it.

its possible you can set a bash script to run every time when pc is booting up and start the bitcoind also you can set a cronjob to check e.g every hour if bitcoind run if run ok if not run start it check the example below

if ps ax | grep -v grep | grep bitcoind > /dev/null

then
exit #bitcoind already running

else
#start the bitcoind
/home/username/pathtobitcoind/bitcoind

yes
969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining without installing software on: July 20, 2015, 11:28:14 AM
ok, thanks, how can I mine it without installing software?

open the coin wallet go to help click on debug window This is the console where you will execute all commands to the coin daemon.

Type this command to use all CPU cores:

setgenerate true -1

If you want to use a specific number of cores, instead of -1, type the number of cores.

You can then type the following to see the status of generation.

getmininginfo

If you want to turn generation off you can use:

setgenerate false

Hello people!
I have a question, is it possible to mine btc or other coins without installing software (java for example). at my work i have a good internetspeed en cpu but I can't installing software, restricted :-(

Maybe there is an other way?

Regards, Erwin

yes i'll would  Smiley

You can't mine bitcoins using cpu the difficulty is so high (That could be done 5-6 years ago where the difficulty was low)

SCYPT COINS LIKE THIS ARE RAPED BY MINERS. THIS COIN IS OLDER THAN THIS THREAD AND IT HAS BEEN MINED VIGOROUSLY. TREAD WITH EXTREME CAUTION WHEN BUYING AND USING SHITCOINS. COMPANIES THAT ACCEPT THE COIN MOST PROLLY ACCEPT IT CAUSE OF ITS NAME AND THE SITUATION. NOT KNOWING WHATS UNDERNEATH. COIN IS BASED ON OLD SOURCE CODE THAT HAS ISSUES. THERE IS NO RICH LIST!!!! SO SOMEONE MAY BE HOLDING 99% OF THIS. FANCY GRAPHICS DONT MAKE A GOOD COIN. PRICE ON EXCHANGE IS FICTIONAL. NO BUY SUPPORT AT ALL!!!  1 BTC BUY SUPPORT = 250 EURO  118.000 BTC SELL = 29500000 EURO

THE MINERS ARE JUST WAITING TO DUMP ON YOU BUYERS.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
