961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How long can Bitcoin out perform inflation in the long run? on: August 23, 2023, 05:44:10 AM
So I was thinking....

A lot of people are hoarding their bitcoins and waiting for a spike in the price, so that they can sell for a huge profit. Let's say for argument sake that real inflation is 10% per year.... and you are not selling any coins. (I say "real" inflation ...because we know the inflation provided by governments are manipulated... and much lower than the actual inflation or living cost)

Every year that you are not selling any bitcoins (as a commodity) ...the inflation that you have to beat with this investment... accumulates.

Example : Year 1 = 10% / Year 2 = 20% / Year 3 = 30% .......and so on. You are also not gaining any interest on any of those coins... so they are dormant during the hoarding period. (When you eventually sell them, you have to divide the profit into the years that you hoarded it to see if you beat inflation)

What strategy do you use to beat inflation with your Bitcoin investment? (I am saying investment... because a lot of people use Bitcoin as a commodity and not as a currency)

How long are you willing to wait, before Bitcoin are not an inflation beating investment anymore?
962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the launch of $350M crypto mining centre in Oman make a difference? on: August 23, 2023, 05:29:16 AM
Oman has a warm desert climate and along the coast you will experience great humidity in summer. Temperatures during summer may exceed 50 degrees Celsius, so keeping those miners running.... will be costing them a fortune.

Yes, night temperatures might be a lot cooler, but miners have to run 24/7 to be profitable. I see a lot of these Oil rich nations are diversifying into other projects that are not linked to oil.... possibly a backup option when the oil runs out.  Roll Eyes
963  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad economic situation makes bitcoins more difficult to keep. on: August 22, 2023, 06:14:06 AM
Yes, I have friends that were forced to sell their coins, before they could make a profit. The high inflation and fuel prices are pushing up the cost of food and services and interest on debt are increasing, so people are struggling to survive.

The problem with this are the following... these people say "Bitcoin" is a bad investment, because they lost money or they did not profit. They do not care that they did not have the liquidity to "save" their bitcoins or that it was their decision to sell early.... they just blame Bitcoin.  Roll Eyes
964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I can’t cope on my own. What do you think I should do? on: August 22, 2023, 06:04:17 AM
The way that these channels work are almost the same....

They will cherry pick bets with a very high percentage for a win, with low odds.. to create a perception that they are picking winning bets. Those will be the FREE bets and people will have success with those bets, so they will be more prone to signup for the VIP access.

They will also ask you to pay for a month or two in advance, so when you realize that the VIP section are bullshit, then no refunds will be given. (They bagged another sucker and they will move to the next victim)  Roll Eyes
965  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: August 22, 2023, 05:46:21 AM
Ok, so just to clarify..... Yes, we did receive a second Monthly..... it is not a Phishing scam, like we have seen before.  Wink  Thank you Stake for the second Monthly, I really appreciate this.... it came at the right time.

I also agree with #AHOYBRAUSE .... do not rush into wagering or gambling with this bonus, because Stake always adjust the RTP to take back these bonuses. (this is pure speculation, but that is what my experience are from the period before or after these bonuses)   Wink
966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your options to having privacy in Bitcoin - and their tradeoffs on: August 22, 2023, 05:35:53 AM
Great thread @BlackHatCoiner! ....

I just want to know if you see the anonymous (decentralized) casinos as another method to secure your financial privacy? There are still some casinos out there that supports pseudo anonymity, but I will not push large amounts of coins through them.

People can still "mix" their coins through these casinos, until they start asking for KYC verification. Just make sure these casinos are not scams and that you can actually withdraw from them. (They start with no KYC requirements, but eventually bend the knee to law enforcement)  Roll Eyes
967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Helped Create Big Changes In Your Life? on: August 22, 2023, 05:26:48 AM
Yes, it completely changed the way I spend and also look at money. I have now started to "save" more money, because I have new goals to save for, namely financial freedom for my family.

Life has become so expensive with inflation skyrocketing and fuel prices going through the roof. The high interest on debt are killing the middle class and the rich are getting richer. (Bitcoin has been one of the only investments that killed inflation)  Wink
968  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Trade on Binance via ChatGPT! on: August 21, 2023, 06:14:34 AM
Trader : Alexa.... Buy 13 bitcoins.

Alexa : Ok, buying 30 bitcoins at $30 000

Trader : Nooooo Alexa, I said buy 13 bitcoins!

Alexa : Ok, buying 13 bitcoins...

Trader : Nooooooo! do not buy another 13 bitcoins .... I just told you what I said.

Alexa : Ok, buying another 13 bitcoins ...... beep beep beep.... Unfortunately you ran out of funds, should I transfer more money from your Bank?

This is the kind of scenario that I see playing out with AI on these trading platforms, because technology can be flawed and it is "Garbage in, garbage out" with computers these days.  Roll Eyes
969  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentine leading candidate: Pro Bitcoin, anti CentralBank, wants dollarization on: August 21, 2023, 05:58:39 AM
How are you going to get rid of centralized Banking and at the same time switch to the US Dollar as your local currency? Yes, it will help them to have a more stable economy and much less volatility, but they will be a slave to the West again. (The US Dollar and the US economy are one of the most complex economies in the world, with a lot of manipulation going on in the back rooms)  Roll Eyes

The adoption of Bitcoin will not go well, with the US Dollar being used as a replacement for the Peso... citizens have a lot of sentimental feelings towards their local currency.  Roll Eyes
970  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: August 21, 2023, 05:47:20 AM
The total weekly bonus from Stake was higher than last few weekly bonus amount. Still, I got only $6 from it. Most of the users were complaining that they got low weekly bonus today. The interesting part is that my rank is platinum III and I have lost deposits of $130 two days ago. This isn't a big loss, but it seems like they have completely removed the base bonus system for the VIP ranks.

Your losses are only one of the factors that are used to calculate your bonus. Eddie said, wagering on original games are counting less now, because people use it to boost their wagering amount.  Roll Eyes

Also, when did you reach Platinum III? If it was recently, then those rewards for reaching Plat III will also reduce your weekly, because Stake see that as "profits" ...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes   (I leveled up and my weekly and monthly were lower than what I used to get with a lower rank)
971  Economy / Gambling / Re: Help us build the greatest crypto casino on: August 21, 2023, 05:39:37 AM
It will be nice if the casino can offer a VIP ranking system with good Weekly and Monthly bonuses, based on the previous game play. The rakeback should also be significant, because most other sites have a piss poor rakeback percentage.... that are not even worth it.  Roll Eyes

Also, something that are lacking with casinos that offer multiple Crypto currencies.... are some kind of in-house currency exchange, so that you do not have to rely on external third parties to convert your tokens.  Roll Eyes
972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can everyone in the world have bitcoin. on: August 21, 2023, 05:32:26 AM
We are lucky that Satoshi Nakamoto made each bitcoin to be divisible into 100,000,000 satoshis. So, we should not worry that there will not be enough for everyone to use. Yes, there are whales that are buying loads of bitcoins, but when the price are high enough... they will start selling them and people without Bitcoin, will be able to buy some.

The rarity of Bitcoin is more or less the same as Gold and other precious minerals and gems... there are only a limited supply. The thing is, we know exactly how many bitcoins will be available in the future...  Wink
973  Economy / Economics / Re: How to avoid over expenses and have discipline on: August 20, 2023, 12:17:43 PM
This might sound strange.... but it works.

Pay with cash! .... The Banks found a way for people to spend money without thinking about it..... they introduced Debit and Credit cards that remove people from actually seeing how much they spend.

People that are using cash, experience first hand that they are using less money... because they can see how it is getting less in their physical wallet... so it is an immediate reminder that their money are running out.

Cash is King .....  Wink
974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Typical scenario when you are losing on: August 20, 2023, 12:09:31 PM
It is a known fact that casinos design games that are super addictive and that they designed it to gradually take back money that was won by the player. I tend to lose more money, when I am in a long losing streak and I think that I am owed a big win.... then I chase my losses and I lose even more.

The "brick n mortar" or land based casinos use cheap tactics like "free drinks" to trick people to lose more money. (sober people, make sober decisions) ..... they even remove all windows so that people forget about the time. (not seeing the day light change into night)  Tongue
975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: August 20, 2023, 11:55:23 AM
You will not find online betting platforms that openly offer bets on Cockfighting, because it will then get global attention from anti-animal cruelty supporters. In most of the countries where they do it, they do not even allow people to record it, because of the negative attention that fights like this will attract.

The casinos will also not offer it, because they will risk losing gamblers that gamble on other Sports .... and they might be against animal cruelty, so it is a very controversial subject.  Tongue
976  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Financial Revolution with Bitcoin and Feasibilities on: August 20, 2023, 11:48:49 AM
Governments protect their control over Fiat currencies with guns. They know Bitcoin are a threat to their control over people's finances and the world's economy, so they will use force to protect it.

You can go to the streets and protest all you want, but the politicians will use the law enforcement agencies and the military to stop it. They will use their powers to change regulations to ban crypto currencies and then they will use the same kind of technology that are centralized to give them even more control. (Then you will not even have the pseudo anonymity of cash)  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Imagine creating something revolutionary and just leaving lol on: August 20, 2023, 11:38:28 AM
You will have to go back to the scene and what happened back then, before you pass judgement on Satoshi Nakamoto. The law in most countries forbid anyone to "create" their own money. Satoshi Nakamoto most probably live in a country where it is illegal to "create" your own currency, so he knew that he might face jail time, if they identified him.

Most of the early coiners were buying and selling coins in secret, nobody wanted to be doxed back then, so the scene were set for Satoshi Nakamoto to be anonymous..... then Gavin informed Satoshi Nakamoto that he spoke to the 3letter agencies and Satoshi Nakamoto went into hiding. (most people would have done the same thing)  Roll Eyes
978  Economy / Economics / Re: Running faucet business in 2023 still possible? on: August 19, 2023, 07:32:16 AM
I was one of those "faucet suckers" back in the day..... and I regret every second that I wasted on there. It was big back then, until the advertisers realized that the people they are targeting are not people with money.

Those faucets were funded by advertising companies and when the advertising companies stopped paying for faucet traffic, they dried up and went away. (Freebitco.in quickly saw what was happening and they switched from advertisement income to gambling income) ...and they are still around and the faucet are still running to this day.  Cheesy
979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots fever on: August 19, 2023, 07:25:57 AM
I think that is one of the things that attract a lot of people to gambling, because they manage to win a big amount of money.. with a very small amount of money and then they are hooked. I even have the conspiracy theory that there are some special "Server Seed" being used for "newbie" gamblers.... and once you are hooked.... then you are switched to a "bad" Server seed.

I know it is highly unlikely that casinos will be able to do this, but in my experience... it always starts out very good... and then over time, you just keep on losing more regularly.  Roll Eyes
980  Economy / Gambling / Re: Opinion on crypto casino project on: August 19, 2023, 07:17:36 AM
I do not want to burst your bubble... but the "NO KYC" sales pitch has been used by all new entries into the gambling scene. They start out with zero KYC requirements... gain a lot of gamblers ...and then the regulators takes notice of them and force them to adhere to the law.

The most recent example is one of the biggest and oldest operators out there.... namely : Freebitco.in  Roll Eyes  They have moved under the radar for years, but their FUN token project and their links with other casinos... exposed them. (Stake.com also started with no forced KYC requirements... and look where they are now)  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
