981  Bitcoin / Press / [2023-08-18] No, Elon Musk's SpaceX Isn't the Cause of This price drop on: August 19, 2023, 07:10:10 AM
https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2023/08/18/no-spacex-isnt-the-cause-of-this-multi-billion-dollar-bitcoin-bloodbath/

"Professional traders say market structure and liquidations were a likely reason for the sudden drop instead of a singular fundamental catalyst."

"Data shows most long liquidations took place on crypto exchange OKX, accounting for nearly 40% of the entire market"

"Meanwhile, traders seem to be waiting on a Grayscale court ruling about the issuance of an exchange-traded fund (ETF), a ruling widely expected to be announced on Friday."

So there are several factors that are causing a combined trigger for a sell-off and a small drop in the price. I say "small" ..because we have become accustomed to high price volatility in Bitcoin.  Roll Eyes
982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My dream is coming close. on: August 19, 2023, 06:59:02 AM
You should dream bigger.... no matter what your income is. Do not limit yourself and the motivation to achieve small goals.... just dream big. I started in Bitcoin when we sucked on faucets, but I soon realized that I will never achieve my goals ..if I wasted my time on faucets.

I took on a second job and that funded my first Bitcoin buys.... I bought small amounts until I had enough to buy a few coins at $300.... then the price went up to $1000+ and I sold some of the coins to pay some of my debt. The extra income allowed me to buy more coins and it really paid off when the price skyrocketed to $20 000+  Wink
983  Economy / Economics / Re: The Impact of Russian African Alliance on World Economy on: August 18, 2023, 06:03:30 AM
I think Russia are strengthening alternative markets in Africa to reduce the impact of the boycotts that are placed on them by the "West". They also have surplus grain that can be used to garner support for their trading relationships. (Grain is one of the staple foods in Africa and Russia can exploit that by giving out FREE grain donations to garner their support)

There has always been a strong political tie between Russia and the African nations, because a lot of the African countries have communist roots. (They were colonized by the West and they were helped by Russia to gain back the control over their countries)  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Technology is Changing Sports Betting on: August 18, 2023, 05:54:06 AM
I personally feel "Blockchain" technology have not been incorporated enough into the gambling industry. I think SatoshiDice was the last big attempt at that..and it failed. Yes, it might have been the buzzword that has been thrown around by the industry as a marketing tool to create a hype for them being on the cutting edge of new technology, but they mostly just added some new Alt coins or NFT to their payment options.  Roll Eyes

My idea of "Blockchain" technology implementation is something that are "running" bets on the actual "Blockchain" or even better yet, something running on a side-chain that are linked to the Bitcoin Blockchain to reduce transaction congestion.  Roll Eyes
985  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bigspins.net PvP crypto gambling on: August 18, 2023, 05:42:20 AM
It has been over two weeks and OP has not responded to any of the posts that were posted after the 4th of August, when he started this thread. Yes, I am frustrated... because I am curious to see how Bigspins.net will be implementing PvP crypto gambling, because this has been a challenge for a lot of casinos.

People always find innovative ways to cheat the PvP system, so I am very curious to see how they will counter that with their implementation.  Roll Eyes So, OP ....give us a time-frame for the project, so that we know if we are dealing with months or years.   Tongue
986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SpaceX sold $373M worth Bitcoin, reason of current dump on: August 18, 2023, 05:29:10 AM
Have you see how dumping Bitcoin? If not you are missing red chart. Here is the reason why current dump happened.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/spacex-sold-bitcoin-acquired-2021-2022-report

You can see SpaceX sold $373M worth of Bitcoin. Elon is very harmful for Bitcoin as always. He always supports shitcoins that doesn't have any real value.

My question is this.... Was Elon Musk very harmful to Bitcoin when he bought those coins and subsequently pumped the price? We tend to concentrate on the negative news, forgetting that he also helped Bitcoin by investing money into it.

SpaceX are burning money like crazy, so I think Elon Musk are selling off non performing investments to fund his projects that might yield higher profits in the future.  Huh
987  Economy / Economics / Re: New Research found Work from home workers to be less productive on: August 17, 2023, 06:17:05 AM
I think it is different for everyone... because some disciplined people will be more productive and the lazy types will be less productive. It also depends on the environment that they work in.... say for instance that they have a lot of distractions (like kids) ...then those people will be less productive.

I have friends that had to set aside a study just for work and they had to force themselves not to go back to work, because it was in such close proximity. (  (They have to lock the door as if they left the office to keep them from going back and working for hours)

A lot of them will take a power nap during the day and then they will be refreshed and willing to work for extra hours during the day.  Wink
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dreaming That I'm Playing In A Casino, Do You Have One, on: August 17, 2023, 06:07:53 AM
I had an operation a while ago and when I woke up from the operation, I apparently asked the nurse if I was at the casino. I think it was all those machines beeping around me and also because I were playing at Stake.com in the hours that I had to wait for the operation to be done. (playing on my mobile phone)  Roll Eyes

We humans are designed to process things in the sub conscience part of our brain, while we are sleeping... so whatever you have been doing before you sleep, will end up being processed during your dreams. (Try playing Tetris or Chess for hours before you sleep... and see what happens in your dreams)  Grin
989  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: August 17, 2023, 05:59:35 AM
-snip-
That's what some thought from (DrDisrepect): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJO_yvflIwk
- Take the offer
- They getting a contract for 5 years.
- Get a ton of money, and see the (Kicks).com revenue.
- There has a higher chance (Kicks) are failed.
- If the (Kicks) failed, they will shutdown the service faster than the contract. Keep the money and back to twitch, that's the same happend and regret from (Twitch) streamer who are refusing mixer offer.

Let's see for the revenue (Kick) on his first year's report 2023-2024. If negative and keep negative, off course they can't really handle to much financial-spend on something are negative. Mixer with a big backup from microsoft still failed, and we will know on the next 1-2 years.

As long as Stake.com are funding Kick.com, revenue reports will mean nothing to them. The easy money are flowing in from Stake.com and all the money that Kick.com are making are going into site improvements and paying for more resources to grow it.

Stake.com and Kick.com are aggressively marketed to grow very fast.... so you will see multi millions being pumped into Streamers and Sport partnerships.

A lot of the streamers that moved over from Twitch, somehow got burnt by Twitch... so they will not go back there. (Think about all the gambling streamers that were banned)  Roll Eyes
990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's 2140. All the Bitcoin is now mined, only mining transactions make $ on: August 17, 2023, 05:48:33 AM
This is going to be one of the biggest tests for Bitcoin, but I think it will show it's success or failure ...long before the last coin are mined. We hope that the "Miners fees" will be enough to motivate the miners to continue mining, because the Block reward would have been almost zero, by the time that the last token are mined.

I think the Bitcoin we see now, will be mined in some museum as a show piece and that it will be replaced by something a lot more sophisticated and it will be running on 1000s of Quantum computers all over the world.  Roll Eyes

It will also be inter planetary, with tokens for every planet that would be colonized. (MarsCoin / VenusCoin ...etc...)
991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin negatives on: August 17, 2023, 05:36:45 AM
I think you are trolling the shit out of this thread....  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin mining use less energy than most Fiat financial systems out there, but the math to calculate it, ignore most of the actual energy that are used. (Example : How much energy are used to create cash & coins through mining activities and also the minting process / How much pollution and energy are used to transport cash in trucks all over the world)

Where are you getting the 1 to 3 hour transactions from? (Old Legacy Bitcoin or the Lightning Network with it's near instant transactions?)

You are grabbing at straws to find something bad to say about Bitcoin, but there are people like us that can spot that immediately.  Grin

992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I thought I would never get hacked... on: August 16, 2023, 06:13:39 AM
So, it seems as though it was your own mistake and the way you handled your seed... right? I am very cautious when it comes to things like my Private keys... and even things like browser hijacking. (Clipboard hacks)

I regard a seed phrase or private key as being compromised, if it has been used even once. People record your online sessions or they use key capturing software, so if you put it online... then it is perceived as being compromised.  Roll Eyes

We learn from our mistakes.... but the loss are still real and the feeling of your security being breached are frustrating AF!
993  Economy / Economics / Re: How to developed your capital on: August 16, 2023, 05:56:26 AM
I find that not a lot of people understand the concept of interest and also the 5th wonder of the world, namely "interest on interest" I had a bond for many years and I get interest on all the "extra" money that I paid into the bond.

I also left the interest that I received in the bond account and managed to receive interest on the interest that I received. This built up very quickly and I managed to pay off that bond, 6 years before I should have paid it off... just based on that interest and the base amount being smaller... on which the Bank charge interest.  Grin
994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ads for online gambling should be banned. on: August 16, 2023, 05:46:56 AM
I kind of have to agree with him, because the gambling advertisements on television is becoming more and more like a spam attempt. The casinos advertisements are being shown over and over again.... and it is annoying AF.  Angry

I think they should rather "limit" gambling related advertisements and not implement a blanket ban on them, because that will simply be unfair towards the gambling industry.

The spamming of gambling advertisements can have the opposite affect, if people see it too much, because that can irritate them.  Roll Eyes
995  Economy / Gambling / Re: HIT A JACKPOT on BITCASINO.IO - (I GOT PAID!!!) MY JOURNEY HERE. on: August 16, 2023, 05:37:31 AM
I have been with Bitcasino.io from the start and they are 100% legit. Yes, there were some people who complained in the beginning, but they reacted to all of those complaints and they resolved the matters.

In the beginning of the site, I suggested a treasure hunt type promotion, where they hide things on the site and then you get rewarded if you find it and they implemented it.

They were also a leader in the NFT projects amongst their competition and this is one of the great examples.... so I hope you enjoy your winnings.
996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Chase to control the market! on: August 16, 2023, 05:16:46 AM
Yes, I was in this space for much longer than 5 years and I can remember a time where there were hardly any "public" place, where you could buy bitcoins. We bought bitcoins from anonymous online sources and we sold it person-to-person in Bitcoin meetup groups to stay anonymous.

Things have changed a lot since then, with Crypto currency Exchanges popping up like mushrooms and pseudo anonymity 100% destroyed. Almost nobody care about anonymity and almost all platforms require KYC verification.  Roll Eyes
997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Latest Game in my Country: Bottle Flip on: August 15, 2023, 06:26:55 AM
I would like to see a digital version of this game to see if it can be possible to turn this into a new online gambling game. They can alter the level of water for every spin to make it less predictable and they can make it PvP to make it more fun. (The participants pay an entrance fee that goes into the pot for the house)

We have played this as part of a drinking game, so I know how difficult this can get after a couple of shooters.  Grin  This is a typical example of how something as simple as a plastic bottle and some water, can provide joy to lots of people in a impoverished country.  Grin
998  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: August 15, 2023, 06:19:42 AM
If there is a bonus it would only be a "post monthly" I think, not a real monthly, stake hates to give away money, we all know that.
I also think the same, we will receive a post-monthly bonus if Stake team has planned another bonus for all the users. However, the users are expecting a second monthly bonus as we had received it twice during the 5th Birthday month of Stake. Maybe they are creating hype on twitter with 'wen Monthly' to increase the engagement of the users. It could be a marketing policy, otherwise we will know the truth soon.

Don't get your hopes up too high...

We expected a big Birthday bash during the Weekend Stream and that did not happen... and apart from the $10 000 000 Birthday race and 1 or 2 - $10 Birthday drops... nothing spectacular happened.

Stake.com used to make a huge thing out of events like this, but lately these events are watered down in comparison to what they did in the past. You can dump millions into marketing ....trying to find new "blood" .....but you also have to look after your existing customers or they will leave and find greener pastures.  Roll Eyes
999  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are stable coins free from SEC ? on: August 15, 2023, 06:08:03 AM
The SEC is just a government tool that are controlled by Banks, just look how the SEC were clueless prior to the 2008 global economic crisis to detect it and to prevent it. The powers from the top even diminished a whole section to one person to make sure that the investigations into the complex derivatives were almost impossible.   Roll Eyes

The whole Banking system are corrupt.... and they will kill all competition, so that they can profit. They rigged the rating agencies, so that they could get AAA ratings ....where most of those investment options were total shit...... so you know what they will do with other stable coins.  Roll Eyes
1000  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-08-04] BBC News - Razzlekhan and husband guilty of $4.5bn Bitcoin launder on: August 15, 2023, 05:54:19 AM
I am not 100% convinced that they did the actual hack on Bitfinex and I support Brett Johnson (white hat cybersecurity expert) on his opinion that they bought stolen information from someone else that did the hack and that they were just trying to launder the money.

The money laundering was also very amateurish and sloppy, with Lichtenstein having Coinbase accounts that were directly connected to his real identity.  Roll Eyes

The plot thickens..... let's see what is going to happen in the future.  Roll Eyes
