I don't really see the point of a physical copy. It's vulnerable and a hassle to store. You can store the same information properly encrypted on multiple micro SD cards. No one will ever know what's on there and they're much smaller. Just make sure you have plenty of them as they're not very durable.

Why do so many roll out stablecoins as THE option when there's no shortage of exchanges with real money? And some of have banking licences so that money is fully insured rather than being run out of a beach hut in the Bahamas.

It sounds like OP plans to 'time the market'. I doubt a newcomer would do a great job of that and nor would most people including me. You're better off riding it out with a significant portion remaining in BTC. The market can give you a beating before you know it's happened.

Many of them miss a trick and don't have well organised casual sections unrelated to crypto. Sometimes you want to talk about something else with the pals you've made. An expanded non crypto bit for various subjects might encourage more discourse and bring in some users. One 'off topic' forum is too general and they tend to be aimless and shapeless.

The deciding factor will be what actual law makers do to it. ICO bros thought they were magically exempt from that boring old law stuff because 'it's on the internet' and then the last few years have been spent slowly hunting them down and mopping them up.

There comes a point where the real world butts up against someone's idealistic pet. The real world is likely to win. Maybe the deciding factor will be how decentralised they manage to get it but even then Bitcoin is pure vanilla in comparison and they may decide it's too far out to live.

I can't believe he's being this stupid as his audience is the most natural possible fit for Bitcoin. Once they get past their lump of metal feelings they will discover it does many of the same things and some of them better.

Every gripe of his has them checking the price, and it's history, and wondering why their paperweight isn't doing the same. If he was truly committed to his cause he wouldn't mention BTC - ever.

Could be a while yet. The most important thing is that it went for it. I really wasn't expecting that so soon. Every time it shies away from it just means when it does do it it'll happen with some serious conviction.

As for OP, I was severely underwater for nearly three long and boring years. Now I am not. If you can't take it after a handful of days maybe this isn't for you. And if it's not really your money that's an even more pisspoor idea. Still, if you wait long enough the chances are high you'll come good.

Interesting article. This is exactly what many Paypal users will want to do with their Bitcoin fun tokens. Not as if you can do much else with it anyway. If this is an issue Paypal should be upfront and very loud about limiting personal trading on there. They should have been fully expecting it.

In most places it doesn't have much of a legal status which doesn't mean it's illegal. If it's a deal between two people it doesn't matter anyway. If one person wants to pay in it and the other is willing to accept it then it's job jobbed.

Users and lots of them? There's nothing sadder than an empty forum and most start empty and remain that way.

In this day and age forums are on their way out unless already established. People do Facebook groups and IM stuff like Telegram or Discord. I think it's an unfortunate development as all that info effectively vapourises.

If I were starting one now I'd be looking to integrate features you see on social media like news feeds and price tickers would certainly tickle users. Anything extra to make it a little more than a blank page needing filling in.

South Korea is a closed market. No money can get in or out. That makes it an irrelevance compared to everywhere else. I'm surprised it's managed to remain relatively anchored to prices outside.

We only know when the peak was a substantial amount of time afterwards and perhaps 20 people on the planet manage to sell at that moment. There's no way I'm clever or patient enough to time markets that way. Every time I though 'yup, this is it' it carried on upwards.

Similarly buying back at the right moment can be well over a year afterwards. I would've caved long before then. I really don't think most people have the psychological equipment to do it right.

My strategy will be to get rid of 50% in return for a figure I've settled on. I won't buy back and none of that money will ever return to BTC. After that I won't sell anything again.

The one and only time I log in to Paypal is to withdraw from it. I don't see any of their irritating offers of credit or cards. I'm fairly certain I'd miss the addition of Bitcoin unless it was screaming in my face.

What I'm most interested to see is how these places react when things fly down the toilet again. It's easy to seem like a champ arriving at the foothills of a bull run. The reckoning is when we really learn what they're made of.

Users can get caught using VPNs with exchanges and stuff. Coinbase seem very sensitive to region changes. If you forget to log in or out when hitting places like that they may freak out.

I find it slightly ironic that people fret about privacy then choose the crappiest free VPN to address it. You're placing a big chunk of trust in these places. Doing your homework is important.

Twenty per cent of ALL Paypal users in the US? I find that totally impossible to believe. I doubt 20% of them even know it's there, let alone have had a dabble. Paypal is something you mindlessly log into to buy something. Not many go much further or explore whatever else it offers.

There's a difference between pump and hype. There's no wider excitement yet and may not be for quite a while. We'll have to see what fees do then when everyone's on heat. Of course we don't have Bitmain spamming fees this time around, or not yet, and that might've been the prime factor last time.
