Just a heads up, everyone.  Future_1 is scamming people for these codes & shouldn't be trusted.

I'm thinking about mining BCN on a shitty laptop. Good idea or no?

I wonder why till today? I mean there was already a comment describing what dev should do and when why not till that day??
IMo it's pointless to talk what they should do - better to think what we can do

Totally agree, and that's the point of MRO. All we can do is create clones or implement CN ourselves. Then again the point of MRO might be pointless, because they have a 2 year head start on us. Any work done is probably already invalidated, but maybe not if the BCN devs were kidnapped or something spooky.

Satoshi Nakamoto kidnapped the Bytecoin devs.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 27, 2014, 02:51:53 PM
What happened with price?  Huh
BCN is selling for 6 satoshis on Poloniex and stupid Monero for more than 400 000. WTF?

Come on really?

BCN 150,000,000,000 * 6 / 100,000,000 = 9,000 Bitcoin market cap.

MRO 1,000,000 * 400,000 / 100,000,000 = 4,000 Bitcoin market cap.

You need to research coin release and understand the amount of coins before rushing to the forums in surprise.

:p

Bytecoin is still worth more than Monero.

I honestly can't tell if you support bytecoin or you're against.

Your posts confuse me

Bytecoin is down 26% on Cryptonote. Any reason to worry about the future of its exchange rate?
Well it has been falling for a while now, at least it has slowed down now. It's a little worrying but if we can get more people to buy this coin through one way or another then the exchange rate won't be something you have to worry about.

I just wonder why it is failing now if it has every feature to compete with Bitcoin?

If its because of the rep that was a lit bit spoilt by BCN's enemies that's suck.

It's reputation was ruined because it came out to the public 10 weeks ago but it's chain is two years old.

That's called a pre-mine and people generally don't like buying into a coin where 80% of the entire circulation that will ever exist is already owned by the developer.

That's why it's reputation is spoiled, we don't even have to work to ruin Bytecoin's reputation.

If you want more proof, see the Nxt pre-mine and the Ripple pre-mine.

One Ripple developer who owned part of the pre-mine is now selling and just crashed the price. This is why people don't like pre-mines.

But please, go ahead and buy/mine your 0.00001% ownership of the entire circulation and cross your fingers a developer doesn't ever want out.

People like this guy are the reason this coin isn't going anywhere.
Is it your duty to spread FUD about Bytecoin?

what ca i do ? nothing seems working
yeah its a bug, this is the wrong forum to ask that question but to fix your issue type save in the daemon.

Is there a forum for CryptoNote?

I know there is a forum on their site - https://forum.cryptonote.org/

You can ask devs what you're interested in and what you didn't get appropriately on their forum

but there is no separate thread on bitcointalk about CryptoNote technology. no need, IMO.

Wow! I didn't know they have their own forum. Interesting.

Thanks a lot for sharing this info. I was thinking it is impossible to contact to devs.

We need to start a sub reddit for Bytecoin. Or at least a Bytecoin forum.

But then again, I kind of like the fact that this coin is not known and mostly accepted on just the deep web.

But the coin needs exposure. After a few days of trolling boards trying to promote bytecoin, I've noticed the publics opinion toward bytecoin to be very negative, I.e., 80% premined, too many coins, Monero is better etc. etc.

I don't know how most Bytecoin supporters believe, but I think it needs better attention, some PR, before the GUI comes out so this thing will go to moon.

Why let Bytecoin stay in Monero's shadow when the tech has much more potential?

We have a sub reddit already. Bytecoin forum? Do you think it's to big to discuss here? Another thread maybe better?

btw, I agree it needs better promotion to make its reputation clear

I mean, a forum specifically for Bytecoin.

There's bitcointalk, litecointalk, etc...
And there may be no need for a forum at this point.
But we need to introduce the coin to the world.
If we can get someone with a name in the crypto world to support that would obviously help tremendously. But hopefully the devs have something up their sleeve in the coming months.

It's all about how you market a cryptocurrency now.
And I believe when Darkcoin goes under and is publicly exposed to not be truly anonymous would be the perfect time for Bytecoin to present itself to the world.
But there's only going to be a small window of opportunity to do that (before Zerocash is released), because you know it's already being hyped as the next best anonymous crypto.

Are there any Bytecoin faucets, gambling games, etc..?
These are all ways to promote the coin.

I'm thinking about starting a Bytecoin Faucet on a .onion website, which promotes the anonymous coin on the anonymous web.
Tor is Bytecoins best friend, and we can use that to our advantage, because everyone knows how much the deep web can stir up controversy.

As for the sub reddit, how can that draw attention when it is private?
I'm beginning to think this coin is meant to stay a secret. And using the whole "secrecy" thing is a promotion in itself.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Anonymous coin will win the battle? on: May 25, 2014, 05:46:58 PM
You mean fair distribution for the miners right?
What if you're like myself, who trades and doesn't mine.
It's very easy for me to get high volumes of the coin.

BCN was launched 2 years ago and it was ninjamined since then. It wasn't on any major exchange until recently when it was added to Poloniex. This mean no significant trading activity was done in BCN, a huge amount of coin is still in the hand of very few people, and they're happy to dump anytime. So it's not safe to invest on BCN, look at the price on Polo, it has been going down since first day.

As i said, BCN is the first, but Monero is the one that triggered public interest to CryptoNote.

Because of people like you spreading FUD is the reason the public has no interest.

You do have to admit the coins technology is far more superior than Monero.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Anonymous coin will win the battle? on: May 25, 2014, 05:22:59 PM
none because they're either promises or not tested enough.

False, Monero and others CryptoNote-based coins have been providing untracable transactions since inception.

Currently, only CryptoNote coins have anonymity embedded to protocol level, unlike Darkcoin which must rely on centralized "masternodes" to mix transaction.

Bytecoin (BCN) because of CryptoNote tech, and fair distribution.

Bytecoin is far superior to Monero in every way. And once the GUI wallet is released, among other advances, it will replace Bitcoin as the universally accepted Crytocurrency.
Rumors are that fabled Satoshi Nakamoto is involved in the Bytecoin project to amend the flaws of his first child, Bitcoin. http://bitcoinrewind.com/bytecoin-next-bitcoin/

I agree that BCN is first CryptoNote coin, but the distribution cannot be called "fair". BCN was ninja launched in deep web and 80% of total supply was ninjamined by very few people. Monero is born to fix the distibution problem of BCN.

You mean fair distribution for the miners right?
What if you're like myself, who trades and doesn't mine.

Which is the better investment?

Both are CryptoNote. But does Monero provide the anonymity Bytecoin offers? Or is it the same?

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014 on: May 25, 2014, 01:29:33 AM
The biggest issue in Cryptocurrency today is anonymity.

The only real anonymous technology is cryptonote.

Monero is the best of all cryptonote coins.

For this reason, Monero is the most important altcoin you should invest.

Experts agree with that.

(please don't pollute rpietila's thread, don't post anything)

Monero is inferior to Bytecoin (BCN).

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: May 24, 2014, 09:24:18 PM
Are the devs ever going to make any improvements to the wallet, add a gui, or anything for this to takeoff?

The MRO guys are working on a GUI wallet in QT, once it's released the Bytecoin developers can copy the code.

What about exchanges? I purchase it on CryptoNote exchange, but are there any plans to add to an exchange such as cryptsy?  Or is it not ready? It seems to me it's still in a early development mode to the public even though it's been around the deep webs for a couple years.

I'm very excited about this coin. I know there's no rush but once all these other so called "anonymous" coins fail, Bytecoin is going to mars, maybe Jupiter.

Especially if it comes out as true that Satoshi Nakamoto is involved with the Bytecoin project.

https://poloniex.com/exchange/btc_bcn

And MRO and QCN xDDD

Thanks!
