1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: Today at 09:00:47 PM
From what I know about Arman Tsarukyan he is from a rather wealthy family and lives a well lavished lifestyle.
So when someone says that they paid him money to do something, I tend to question the source. And from what you had just stated, I would definitely do the same.
The guy doesn't need to fight for the same reasons that most in the organization have to and rely on fighting two or even three times a year.
From the sounds of it, Arman wants the easiest way to a title as possible and if it isn't on his terms he won't do it. That is all I can really say about this fighter and his current situation of trying to find a fight.
I agree with you, he is very rich. What could Islam offer to him? How much money? He has money, an additional million or two doesn't matter for him. So, it's definitely a false claim.
Do you think that he pulled out of the fight because Islam wasn't an easy fight for the title? He gave Islam the toughest time in his debut and I guess, it wouldn't be a hard fight for Arman. He was losing nothing by fighting Islam. I can't really believe if he pulled out because of back injury cause it's a common thing, you dehydrate so much during the weight cut that everything hearts because everything inside is dry. Pulling out of fight put Arman in much worse state. First of all, Dana White hates him and he won't get an easy title shot the next time and secondly, Topuria is no easy fight. I would say that Topuria is a better fighter than Islam but that's just my opinion.
I seriously don't know what this guy thinks about when he makes such decisions.
There are alot of opinions of Armen pulling out of that fight with Islam but they are all speculation and only he truly knows why he did that.
All I know it has scarred his reputation for the rest of his career. So well done for him on making the wrong choice if he really wasn't injured(I believe he said it was his back) and Dana White did not even know what happened to him that night as he stated in the press conference after that UFC event happened without the original main event scheduled. Because Arman made it to the pre-fight press conference then the day of the fight decided to pull out saying he suffered an undisclosed injury at the time.

I didn't know about his family's wealth. But I believe the path he's taking isn't the best. The organization needs to earn something too, and having a champion the easy way would be frowned upon by the public and the fighters themselves. It would take away all the fighters' merit. So, the fewer fights he has, the worse it will be, which is why he hasn't achieved anything significant.
Completely and utterly agree with you on that take of Arman Tsarukyan and his current status within the organization. I am certain that Dana White is not giving him any time for excuses when his time comes in picking a challenger for his next fight.

Anyways, let's stay on the next fight night for this weekend for UFC Vegas 109.
I have put in my betslip earlier today so here it is:
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: Today at 08:43:23 PM
Sportsbet has just added several season-long editions of the Jackpots game, as well as one named "Big 5 Jackpot," which i assume will be available weekly.
Yeah its gonna be a whole season edition for sure. Its pretty nice addition with $1M prize on top for 20/20 with only $1 buy-in actually but on another note its gonna be one hell of predictor. I forgot to check the paytable though, I guess its starting on $10 on 10/20 ? If that is so then getting one minimum prize would pay for the next 10 of these predictor which is good
Sorry to being this late, i forget to come and mention it, since sometimes the jackpot section in my side doesnt charge and i dont want to wait i dont enter in it for a few days, but yesterday i wnet in and obviusly i take part in every single one of the new ones.

I have to say i like the pairings between the final position question.
You mean it doesn't change?
Yes. It use to the last time I had to check my stats of the last jackpot, but that was when I had to click the participated tab.
Today there was not any hangups because there are only those who are needing to enter in their selections for the next set of jackpots and the deadline as arallmuus stated is August 15th for the ones that have their leagues starting on this date.

Deadline is on 15th of August so theres plenty of time left
I have to say i like the pairings between the final position question.
I have no clue about the pairings so my answers are based off last season result. Well its a whole season result so yeah things are going to differ alot throughout the season. All I can remember is that I actually picked Barcelona over Real Madrid to win the season as well as Livepool for EPL. As for Bundesliga, its actually gonna be Bayern Munich as usual
Had entered in all of them earlier today and the Big 5 leagues Jackpot had the most entries so far and only La Liga had more than the EPL.
Here is a screenshot of what it looks like now:

I also took Barcelona over Real Madrid by end of the season but went with somebody else other than LFC to win the league. Think it was the Chelsea to be higher in the standings than last season champions was the question I chose.

@darxiaomi
Yes, I would also agree with you there. How many of these questions we have failed on would be high. But it is all about keeping engaged as nobody is perfect when it comes to these sort of jackpots.
It is more of a question of how much of luck is on your side at the end of season to get as many right.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈 - Sportsbet.io NFL Pick-Em Prediction Pool - Discussion Thread - 🏈 on: Today at 01:12:38 PM
Eagles trolling everyone at this point...first score of the preseason, Tanner McKee tush push Grin, and it's the Eagles 2s vs. the Bengals 1s.

The Bengals playing all of their starters for a full quarter is quite unusual these days, guess they don't want to repeat their poor start to the season from last year, thus the extra reps.

Preseason is not a bad time to cash in on some good plays...

Also, don't forget to sign up for the Pick-Em pool...entry fee is only 0.25mBTC

This season's sign up thread is live: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5551724.0
Thought that the Bengals were up 14-10 with 1:52 left of the 2nd quarter on Cinci's 10 yard line.
How in the hell did they score two tds? When I came back to the game it said 14-24 at half-time.

That was pretty shitty of the bengals playing all their star players and QB while Phla were playing backups.
But atleast you were sharp enough to take them for only the 1st quarter. Wink

@DireWolfM14
Registered for the Pick'em pool and now ready when the season begins. Thanks for bringing this awesome pool back!
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: Today at 10:47:15 AM

Why are they like this? They didn't play well in EWC and always throwing Game 5 with GEN.G during MSI but now they're dominating like it's just a normal day.
Those who've trusted T1 during split 3 made win streak with a good odds like vs GEN.G and HLE.
Now I'm hyped up with worlds, I'm still eyeing out good teams that can dominate the international tournament.

yea their past few series have been surprising
Today as well they stomped geng map 1, geng got like 2 kills all map

In CS this blast online tourn has been going on to qualify for LAN with some crazy one map upsets, navi and spirit both lost map 1's but then comfortably won the series
Eventually Gen G made a comeback and won the series 2-1 but overall it was really an entertaining series.

At cs2...oh it was a messy day for me as I had NiP to win against PaiN and they lost ...which really makes me think that NiP is not yet ready for Tier 1 CS.

I think I will patiently waiting The International to begin as no other tournament is looking appealing right now.

Yes it seems like most of the tier 1 teams are just riding on the coat tail's of their team brand name and not being able to back it up.

Just watch Mongolz match and they were up 10-2 on the first map but then almost lost it ending in 12-10.
These are one of the teams that are the exception because a year ago nobody knew who this team was.
So they had to rise in the ranks to where they are today.
But such teams as you had mentioned, the Navis, Liquids and Mouz are well known names in the CS genre.

@rohang
The Trump administration is making $100bln deals with Apple Inc. so to invest into the US too.

source: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/06/us/politics/trump-apple-investment.html

But the president's capital venture companies are taking large quantities in the form of cryptocurrenies from foreign investors aswell:
"A venture calling itself Aqua 1 Foundation and saying it is based in the United Arab Emirates announced in late June it had bought $100 million worth of World Liberty’s crypto tokens, becoming the largest publicly known investor in the business."
source: https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/trumps-100-million-crypto-mystery-man-2025-07-11

Late last month I recall reading of a rather large sum of bitcoin being acquired by Trump so here is that news:

6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: August 07, 2025, 11:24:40 AM
Not certain about that question on the survivor pools offered but sportsbet.io does not have this and by checking the American Football section they only have the usual markets available.
So I would think there has not been enough interest involved yet for them start one up. Because as you well know they cater to their European customers with more promotions for championship league football I am talking of organizations such as FIFA and Aussie rules football.
But who knows, if their customer service receives enough calls for a survivor pool competition then that feedback might spur them on to initiate one in the near future.

As for the NFL preseason there are several games being played tonight.
So here what is on tap for the first full day of games in this coming out party for those draft picks:

https://sportsbet.io/sports/american-football/matches/today

Watched the second season of Quarterback last night on Netflix and it got me hyped for this full night games
They were showing how bad Kirk Cousins had it last season and the Jared Goff/Matt Stafford QB swap.

Both these guys are sitting out for these games due to injury or just plain trade rumors:

Today VP just beat MIBR 2-0 and right now navi is live vs TNL (who??) , they should win 2-0 easily as well
TNL actually took the first map off of Team Spirit in yesterday's second matchup. Which was very hard to watch since Spirit just coming off a Grand Finals win in Cologne and now letting a CCT counterstrike team beating them their first game back. This was unheard of and if they actually did beat them in the following map they would have taken the $60,000 bounty for this chaotic victory.
That is how this BLAST.tv Premier Bounty tournament works and it is kind of cool to know the tier 1 teams can be chopped away at by these lower tiers sometimes.
Right now FURIA are leading BIG up by a map.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: August 07, 2025, 10:47:46 AM
^^
Conor is crying out for attention and just saying he is in the testing pool is just an absurd joke in itself at this point. You did see him tweaking out in those videos of his BKFC press conference last month. He couldn't stop moving and wiping his nose. He just did that statement so he can have a photo op to post on his social media due to Jon Jones saying the exact same thing.
These are the two UFC fighters with so much hype surrounding them they can backout and it does not seem to matter to them of the backlash or consequences by the UFC if any are even given by Dana White.
Mcgregor seems to want to compete with Jake Paul of how much discussion he can mix up before a fight.
Seeing this is just disgraceful from a nearly 40 year old man trying to out do somebody half his age and just a sad case to be honest.

On to the next one! Cool

Scheduled for this weekend just hope the weigh-ins are completed quick and painless for all fighters.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: August 06, 2025, 07:48:14 PM
how about on top of sprint, we have one race with everyone driving the same car?  Grin
That would be interesting!
Hehe, it would be, but imho no sane team would offer their car technology on opponents' pilot's hands.
And in F1 such endeavor should probably done by each team, in rotation, heh.
I think that it makes sense as a completely different racing sport (maybe there's already existing, but with slower cars), but not F1. And then it would be also different drivers.. and no longer fun.
However, interesting idea and although I don't expect it ever implemented in F1, it's still cool.
But then it wouldn't be F1 anymore and might aswell cut all driver's pay rename it F2.
You are correct though.
This sport does rely on drama so to keep the younger and more impressionable viewers watching.
Or they will just go watch something more exciting every race Sunday either the NFL or the NBA where they can get their fix of that kind of Athlete drama from their daily lives and not necessarily on the court or field of play.
Why do you think the FIA allowed for Netflix to make a series of their lives outside of the sport and mostly off the track. They are on season 8 for next year and people are rewatching the last season where Horner was still in the headlines and still operating CEO of the Red bulls.
Now after rewatching you can see he was just a smug prick all these years and sort of glad that Zak Brown put him in his place last season with winning constructors. Grin

Not much talk about the next UFC event this weekend but I am definitely going to be placing bets on this one!
With one of the dark horse fighters who is really good fighting on the main card:
The UFC has reached that point where fights are on hold until the next numbered card. I firmly believe this is due to lengthy negotiations with fighters who think they're good. Good fighters would take any fight to become champions, but lately that hasn't been the case.
Not just that, but they do not fight due to having an injury.
For example, look at the fight scheduled for this weekend during Vegas 109 with Alex Perez who was going to challenge Steve Erceg but had to pull out early on:
https://bloodyelbow.com/2025/08/05/alex-perezs-ufc-vegas-109-withdrawal-marks-a-shocking-14-fight-cancellations-in-six-years

Now Erceg will face-off against Ode Osbourne instead for this bout setup on the main card.

-snip
Might aswell since I like the bigger reward at the end and only $10 for 10 correct feels like a consolation prize.
So I don't mind it one bit arallmuus.
Yeah its actually better this way though, last season buyin was  $10 with $10 as well for 4/10 and $20 for 5/10 but instead with this new predictor system, its basically 10 fold from our buy-in with exactly 50% chance
You should give the NFL pick'em prediction pool a try. The Sleeper app they use is the easiest to put in your predictions and results have no wait when the games end unlike others used for other pools.
Nah I got zero clue about NFL so Im gonna skip this.
I even like it better than kickapp used for the Bundesliga pool now. After using both for the entire season last time those two pools were in progress.
Entry is so low but the prizes are satisfying. Kind of like this one for these jackpots.
Im glad pools are moving out from Superbru. Its a good website but its kinda dull to use the same thing over and over again, we got our own website on UCL pool as well though and Im excited to play on that one
What ever happened to got to try new things so to improve in life?
Just kidding. But it is probably the least expensive year long pool on the forums to join with the prize pool set to a handsome amount if you make it to the top.
Don't tell me you did not wager on the Superbowl earlier this year for some reason or another. Even the prop bets can be fun.

For the EPL will be using the website this season so it should be alright.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: August 06, 2025, 06:37:15 AM
There is not that much big tournaments left for dota 2, all of the major tournaments have ended already. There are some on going now but these are tier 2 and tier 3 tournaments. And that's because next month, The International 2025 is about to start. Although some tournaments are still there and they're just for those aspiring teams to be good for the next season, I think that for some dota 2 action, they're hard to spot on who will be a better team. But most of them that are happening currently in the SEA and China region and the next ones coming are from CIS and EU.
Think this is the one all dota fans are waiting for since it is the most prestigious of them all and difficult to get into. But still a month away from that so there should be some contests inbetween to keep their fanbase entertained.
Talking about top teams like Team Spirit. Whatever happened I had heard alot of last year in these smaller tournaments beastcoast?
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: August 05, 2025, 01:01:50 PM
Verstappen just said something like "Don't expect me to get any wins anymore this season.". I guess this race was a good proof for that.

Hamilton just gave up on everything. He is in a bad mental condition. He accepts he is the reason behind this bad result.

I'm sad for Leclerc... He won't ever reach his potential at Ferrari. Unless Ferrari stop acting like they always know the best. Why are these guys so stubborn? They don't know sh*t.
That was the feeling everyone was getting from his post race interview too:
Max Verstappen: The Car’s Not Designed for Me | Post Race Interview | Hungarian Grand Prix 2025
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8oEy2s1dCM

So after seeing such statements as this maybe the next logical step for him would be do to this:

He is locked in a contract within the Team Red/Racing Bulls for the next few years and so he is stuck with them.

As for Ferrari and their race weekend. Well it was a real mess and radio quotes like this one from Leclerc certainly shows the state they are in:

Charles probably thinks the Ferrari engineers are like this with his car:

You are right, Lewis is in a bad place right now and you can just tell from this statement that has been making the rounds on F1 socials:

Very pitiful state of both Ferrari drivers and they are both having a really bad go at it right now.

We got some competitive CS2 later today, as there'll be a bunch of qualifier matches for the Blast Bounty Fall. With the juicy bounty on the line for the top seeded teams ($60k), we could maybe see some interesting upsets brewing here.
Blast Premier Bounty Season 2 just started day one and got up just in time to see Team Liquid going against Ecstatic.
Nice to see what Liquid can do in this tournament after seeing what Twistzz was saying about the entire team is under performing as of late at CS2.
The only player on their roster I haven't seen play is Siuhy from what I can tell he is the new member of the team since I last seen them play.

Interesting match-ups through out the day and some teams such as B8, NRG and FUT who will be tested in these qualifiers for sure.

If that is so then getting one minimum prize would pay for the next 10 of these predictor which is good
Those are really nice to see up so thanks for the screencapture of those jackpots all lined up for us to take advantage of for the upcoming season morvillz7z.

Been away from watching any tennis lately but just might start watching tonight's match between Alexander Zverev when he faces Alexei Popyrin probably for a long time since Popyrin had mentioned before this National Bank Open this would be his last for awhile.
https://www.tennisworldusa.org/tennis/news/ATP_Tennis/157135/-numb-alexei-popyrin-steps-away-from-tennis-i-don-t-feel-sad-i-don-t-feel-happy

He won it last year so I would expect him to make it difficult for Zverev and hopefully goes to three sets.

It was the first race of Piastri when he almost lost his temper 100% because he was not once but twice close to take Norris out just because he saw a gap that could have been exploit in that corner but the reality was he was way to further to actually overtake Norris. I hope I will not see this temper of his again because I'm used to see him cool , calm , collected and very sharp on tracks.

Overall , congrats to Norris for actually believing in him first and then on his team strategy ...something that Ferrari needs to learn all over again and I came to a conclusion that without a fully rebuild of Ferrari , this team won't achieve greatness anytime soon. Grin
Saw that while they were neck and neck for pretty much the whole race. Piastri looked as if he was going to ram into Norris in a couple corners there when his car locked up. That is a different side of Oscar then we are use to seeing of his mild manner driving style.
There was a quote that I remember hearing from the last race they had and that was McLaren were not Papaya boys but this was going to be a Papaya battle by the time we get to the later stage in the season.
And there we have it!

So, what do we have after this race
- George to Piastri, "Why didn't you T-bone him?"
- Leclerc sending the "Epic of Gilgamesh" first volume over radio
- Alonso the road blocker
- Hamilton going on a spiritual redemption journey
- Lawson beating Max for points

Yeah, pretty enjoyable race as long as you're not a fan of anyone!
Those are some great observations and putting a humorous twist to these drivers during this race.
You should write for the F1 comedy review channel on youtube because his videos have been lacking being funny for years now.

@NeuroticFish
Yeah, I completely agree with you there. Why in the world would Leclerc be exposing such things over the radio? He fully knows that other teams have access to these and even made public during live coverage to F1 audience. Pretty funny though and makes for some great material for next season's Drive to Survive on Netflix.

Well kindof disappointing final
After breaking insane vitality win streak they dont show up in finals and get 0-3d
The real final boss was donk and Team Spirit all along. I also didn't expect Mouz to fold like that and was hoping we'd get at least four maps minimum because of how clean they've dispatched Vitality the other day.
No doubt there.

Donk single-handley destroyed mouz from some rounds and there weren't even competitive as you can see from the score.
No wonder he was voted as IEM Cologne MVP for this tournament:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=or3dHmDj0Ik

Mouz did break Team Vitality's 37 win streak so they had this to hangover the best team of CS2 this year.

So this is the big release they were teasing--
I did a quick read and will need little more info on how it works to totally understand.
But interesting that they mentioned esports as well so its not for only traditional sports/bigger markets
Im in the same as you, i dont know what really it gives to us.
I feel more like since polymarket is becoming so popular SB is trying to catch the trend? I feel like that is the same aproach as they have. But i can be wrong.
Lets see when we finally see it how it goes, and how much good is for us.
Just could be @darbitmobilerecovery !
Was just reading a post early yesterday and they mentioned about putting a huge position on Liverpool winning the EPL this season and this was on polymarket instead of a traditional site such as Sportsbet.

Didn't the pre-season begin for the Premier League yet? Thought I saw something from them on their X about Manchester United going against Everton. Or maybe it was just a friendly anyways, these matches do not really matter as they are more of a feeling out period for these sports teams and don't push too hard if they are down in the matches.
So to not cause any injuries to their players they just spent multi-millions to get over the summer such as Xavi Simons. Grin
https://talksport.com/football/3442737/chelsea-xavi-simons-warning-60million-transfer-leipzig

Same for the NFL, their pre-season just starting on Thursday and there is plenty of time to join in on the fun with a Pick'Em pool offered by Sportsbet.io!

Welcome to the second annual
NFL Pick-Em Prediction Pool for the 2025-2026 season.
Sponsored by Sportsbet.io
Predict the results of the weekly NFL (American football) matches for a chance to win a portion of the prize pool.
If you've ever been curious about American football, this is a great way to join the discussion and learn about the game.
I hope you'll join us for the fun.

The pool will use the Sleeper.com app to place your weekly predictions which start on
Thursday September 4th 2025, and will extend through the NFL Regular Season.

Sleeper makes entering your predictions very simple, and doesn't take more than a few minutes.
The rules to play are simple; pick the teams that you think will beat the spread prediction for that week's matchup.
Picking against the spread is a little more complex than simply picking the winner, and adds to the challenge.
Predictions will be made for all NFL weekly matches, up to 16 matches per week.
At the end of the contest, the participant with the most points (i.e. highest number of accurate predictions) wins the competition.
The number of winners will be determined by the number of participants.

If your going to join up but you can't pay right before the first game, that is alright. @DireWolfM14 is allowing to pay within "Registration deadline is the start of the NFL's third week, 8:15pm Eastern Time (USA,) Thursday September 18th, 2025."

So no excuses not to join at just under $29 at today's BTC price! Cool
