1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: May 24, 2024, 11:59:38 PM
Yes, one should not borrow and gamble. When we gamble, we don't keep in mind that it is someone's money. Out of control, we might lose everything, and furthermore, we think that we should've stopped earlier. It is always good to think wisely and stay within limits. When you're in a situation to borrow and gamble, it is a pure indication that you're addicted. This means you should correct yourself, and there might be successful stories of people making good money out of gambling. We should not expect the same to happen to us.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 24, 2024, 11:55:13 PM
Now the final is going to be played between SRH and KKR. I think KKR is going to have the upper hand. They have played really well throughout this IPL. All the players that they are also in good form right now. I have a feeling that KKR might actually take the trophy.
I also think that KKR will win the trophy of this season. Betting site has given same odds for both teams. But I will consider KKR as favourite team. SRH will win the match if their batsmen can set a bit target by batting first. KKR bowling was too good against them in the first qualifier match. The playoff matches weren't competitive at all. The target was average. I hope the final will be a high scoring match and competitive.
Both teams are equally strong. This is really good to see as the teams on the top order of points table have reached the finals. There is a big hope that RCB will reach the finals. For some reason they weren't able to make it. When it comes to Rajasthan Royals they were good at the beginning and the performance seems bad at the end of the season and now they've gone out of the league. In the last seven matches they've just won the previous match against RCB.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you advise a friend in the same way? on: May 24, 2024, 11:52:33 PM
Bitcoin investment can be suggested. When it comes to business, already they'll be at a better position and they prefer reinvesting it into the business to widen the business to next level and their choice won't be towards something else. Maybe if they're towards technology based investment then going towards cryptocurrency based on their self interest seems to be better than going on someone's words.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are banks against cryptocurrency? on: May 24, 2024, 11:31:28 PM
Banks are against cryptocurrency for different reasons. The most important thing is revenue. In the past, it used to be a tough task to send huge transactions through the bank as they required more procedures to be followed. Now people find ease through cryptocurrency transactions, and for the same transaction, the banks charge huge amounts as commission and transaction charges. With cryptocurrency, this has been made easier, and the revenue of banks has been affected. Some banks have understood the reality and made themselves adapt to the growing technology. A similar move could be more effective than taking a stand against cryptocurrency.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to get your Dad (or Mom) to buy Bitcoin? on: May 24, 2024, 11:25:57 PM
We've got different ways to buy Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. First, they need to understand and accept. My parents aren't that good at technological advancement. This means they're in a state that accepts real currencies, and they find the virtual currency to be something different and hard to believe. I'll just leave it to their choice, and it is up to them to analyze, understand, and take the decision on whether to buy it or not.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop gambling if you don’t have free time to do it on: May 24, 2024, 11:20:30 PM
Even if you have good time to spend, limit yourself. Gambling is not the right place to spend the majority of your time. More money you spend could help with better understanding, but your bad luck could make you addicted as well as lead to huge losses. When you spend limited time, what you spend gets limited, and it'll be easy for you to overcome addiction. At any point, you should not force yourself to gamble. When you're free, just go ahead and enjoy. For people who prefer gambling regularly, sports betting seems to be a fair choice, as one can place the bets and leave them for the day.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Day streaming as gambler experience on: May 24, 2024, 11:14:25 PM
At the end of the day, everything revolves around money. However, it is your responsibility to make regular statements that gambling is subject to risk, and please be careful while risking your money. People will watch the stream, and they prefer trying what to do, as they don't know you've been sponsored by respective platforms.

These days, more people are interested in streaming, and you can add more content beyond streaming. Try to be a content creator who also shares the real time experience of gamblers who have lost big. So that people will be able to understand both sides of gambling.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Money addiction on: May 24, 2024, 12:00:11 AM
As most users said, 90% were behind on money. This is not out of interest but out of compulsion, as they're already committed. The remaining 10% used to be passionate about what they did without expecting any return on their efforts. This, in the long run, gives the best return, whereas the same isn't possible for everyone, as they have more responsibilities and no savings. In the present economic situation, without money, it is very hard to survive, and the same keeps people running behind money even though they're interested in something else.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL Cricket on: May 23, 2024, 11:54:28 PM
The match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals is going to be very interesting. SRH, under the captaincy of Pat Cummins, has increased expectations as he keeps adding trophies under his name. On the other side, the Rajasthan Royals are with good confidence after the massive win against the RCB to play the qualifier 2 match. However, in this match, Sanju Samson needs to be more responsible and do his part in batting. For now, the winning probability is almost equal for both teams.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should there be a way to register your wallet with the government? on: May 23, 2024, 11:48:32 PM
Does the incentive weigh more than the disincentive to "register your wallet with the guberment"? Governments vary on the quality of guberment index globally so maybe there is a country out there with an actual decent government but most governments are made up of sociopaths and psychopaths and the do gooders are mainly extreme lefties who eventually go full retard commie once they gain power over the "useless eaters".
This is kind of giving the government access to our wallets. With the transparency of BlockChain, the governments were able to keep track of the transactions, and the same could be a hindrance for the user. A similar scenario happened with El Salvador providing a separate wallet named Chivo. Even a bonus of $30 in bitcoins was provided upon signup. People just signed up, used those bonuses, and moved to other decentralized wallets.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do your parents invest in bitcoin ? on: May 22, 2024, 10:27:46 PM
My parents know the term bitcoin, but they don't know beyond that. My mother knows it is a kind of investment that grows in value, and at times she used to ask me what the status was, whether it was on a rising path or a falling path. At times she used to say we should've invested earlier because I said about it and regarding the chances of growth years ago. It's been a long time since she asked me about the price and everything. If she comes to know about the present price of bitcoin, surely she'll feel bad for missing out on investing when the price was less than $1000.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Buying Vs Renting a Home- Which is the right move? on: May 22, 2024, 10:17:47 PM
There used to be a difference of opinion regarding owning a home and renting a home. In a simple calculation, a person living 65 years of age on average spends $50k paying rent, which is based on the minimum rent spending in my country. For the same amount, it is possible to construct a good home for a family. The difference is with the spending. During construction or owning, we spend as a whole or go for a loan and pay interest, whereas on renting, we'll just pay little by little. After the death of the father, other members of the family were able to use the home. In a family, if the family is depending on the father for the rent and something happens and they lose him, what will be the situation of the family members?

I don't have much idea how people from other countries consider owning a home. In my country, it is much more connected to emotions. The same makes them prioritize owning a home over seeing it as a form of investment. For that reason, more than 90% of the population prefers to own a home to rent one.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: The collapse of central banks...Inevitable? on: May 22, 2024, 08:26:29 PM
Virtually every country in the world use fiat as legal tender, so fiat will always be in use. the Central Bank can only fight inflation by bringing out policies that will checkmate the financial activities of market forces, that way they can easily monitor the forces behind inflation. Because going with the narrative of the OP, if the Central Bank collapses we are in a huge financial disarray, because the Central Bank is the one saddled with the responsibility to understand the activities of financial flow across all board, so I believe they know measures to apply to reduce the effect of inflation.

But what if countries decide to ditch Fiat in favor of Bitcoin? I know governments want control and all, but they have the option of abandoning Fiat if they want to. Doing such a move would be very beneficial to the people. Unfortunately, the "Elites" won't allow this to happen. Especially when it's easy to detect corruption/manipulation/fraud on a transparent public ledger.

We should expect central banks to rule the world forever. The launch of CBDCs will only make them bigger and stronger than ever. I'd suggest you keep buying and "hodling" BTC to protect yourself against government oppression. Inflation will keep rising, but only those able to "fight against it" will win in the long run. Who knows how the global economic landscape will look like in the future? Smiley
Do you think that governments around the world will take a stand to ditch fiat and move forward in favor of bitcoin? This isn't going to happen soon or in the future. As we've encountered the CBDCs, we'll see some new form of system being used in the printing of money to have control over inflation. Banking systems are the backbone of every country, and control plays a major role in the economy. We say that decentralized functioning will make everything better, and we can't be sure of it. From my POV, we don't know the real factors that arise when we go completely towards decentralization.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Betting. Why the Distinction? on: May 22, 2024, 08:09:49 PM
Betting and gambling do seem similar, but there's a small difference. Betting usually means wagering on sports, while gambling covers a wider range of activities like casino games, poker, and slots. It's about the specific activity you're doing.

When I read the headline, I was surprised, because indeed many people consider batting to be a kind of gambling, although I always believed that batting is a section of gambling.
But in fact, these are the same classes in meaning: the gambler assumes some kind of result of a match or some kind of casino game, after which he puts his money. And as a result, he can either win or lose.
So maybe these two classes are mistakenly separated?
I will say that they have the same meaning but different words and they are used in different events. Gambling is the most common because that is what most people see staking on something with money as. But it is also good that we use these words in the right way to show that we are gamblers. I use to misuse them before but as time goes on with my gambling activities, I came to realize that gamble is used for casinos and betting is for sportbet.

I love your point that as gamblers we use the right word that shows distinction among the crowd, will I say literate gamblers and not some dumb gamblers, lol.

Gambling is used for casino games while betting are for sport event mainly live events like football and the likes. Were analysis and predictions work most of the time in betting but in gambling it really doesn't have any effect.
In simple games where luck has its role, it is termed gambling. Sports betting is different because the role of luck is very minimal. If one has the ability to analyze and understand different factors connected to the sport and the particular match, then it is possible to pick the correct odds and win the bets. This isn't possible with casino games, where we risk money in the hope of winning the bet. With casino games, we will get the result instantly, whereas with sports betting, it takes time to know the outcome of the bet, depending on the time taken for the completion of the match.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL Cricket on: May 22, 2024, 07:57:30 PM
Rajasthan's two openers got off to a good start. Despite collecting only 6 runs in the first 2 overs, Rajasthan collected 35 runs without losing any wicket in 4 overs. Rajasthan can easily win this match if they don't lose quick wickets. Rajasthan have a number of experienced batsmen in their squad.
No doubt , Rajasthan Royals are playing to win this match and hopefully, we may see half a century by their opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. Also Sanju Samson, need to play a captain's knock today and i am sure, they will want to chase this score without losing many wickets. As long as they have wickets in hand, the match control will remain in Rajasthan Royals hand. Remember the team who loses this match, their journey will end in this IPL and RCB seems to be in danger of elimination at this moment.
Jaiswal was dismissed for 45 runs off 30 balls.   He has batted well enough. However, the Rajasthan Royals team is under pressure at the moment.   Sanju Samson did not bat well. Sanju Samson returned to the dressing room after collecting 17 runs. Dhruv Jurel collects 8 runs from 8 balls.   Jurel also could not prolong his innings. Rajasthan team collected 115 runs after 14 overs.   Rajasthan lost 4 wickets.

Rajasthan need 58 runs to win in 6 overs.   The team must collect 58 off 36 balls. 10 runs required per over. Both Riyan Parag and Hetmyre are very experienced at the crease. Also Powell and Ashwin are capable of batting well. So still Rajasthan's chances of winning seem high.

In the end Rajasthan got an easy win. A target of 173 runs on this pitch was not enough to win. Because Rajasthan's bowling order was very strong. We don't see good performance from Bengaluru batsmen. The match would have been more competitive if Bengaluru's batsmen had batted well. Bengaluru batsmen needed to collect 190-200 on this pitch.

Rajasthan's opener Jaiswal batted brilliantly. RIyan Parag's 36 runs and Hetmyre's 26 runs were also very effective. However, there is no doubt that the Rajasthan vs Hyderabad match will be very exciting. Because both have a strong batting order.
At least 200+ runs as a target could've increased the pressure on the Rajasthan Royals team. 172 runs from 120 balls seems to be an easy target in this IPL season. Everyone believed Royal Challengers Bengaluru would win the match, as they had a record-winning history entering the playoffs. The Rajasthan Royals team took the target in a smooth way, at the beginning, it looked like an easy win, and the fall of two wickets around 85 runs gave a break. But the Rajasthan Royals team players were good enough to play according to the situation at the wicket and didn't allow them to increase the required run rate. Kept everything under control and won the match, moving to the qualifier 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: February 13, 2024, 11:40:26 PM
This has been said many times, never risk the money that is necessary for your life. Get into gambling when you've got excess money after meeting all your end-of-month needs. There are people who risk the money required for different needs, lose it gambling, and once again start to borrow, ending up in debt.

This is commonly seen with people who consider gambling a way of earning money. Such a mindset needs to be removed. Here the situation of the person is the same; he should have paid the installment with what is available. Remaining, he should have arranged for some alternate choice. Now he needs to borrow more, take the pressure of paying it within the deadline, and think of repaying the borrowed money.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What contributes to a casual gambler becoming an addicted gambler? on: February 13, 2024, 10:57:56 PM
The main reason that made me a gambling addict was the win I experienced during my early stage of gambling. I was new to it, and I kept winning big money. I don't have any idea how to invest it or get involved in some business. What I did was continue to gamble, and at some point I lost what I won, and my mind wasn't ready to accept it. This is where I started to borrow money and spend it on gambling. This continued for a long time and ended in huge debt. At some point, I understood reality and made my way out of gambling.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress? on: February 13, 2024, 10:48:52 PM
Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress?

In my opinion, tracking the development of the gambling we do is also an important thing for us to do, but actually I have never done it because currently I have never experienced anything strange when playing gambling and I enjoy it, but maybe one day I will. do to track my gambling progress with the aim of making it safer and making me more confident in carrying out and enjoying every gambling game.
Indeed, gambling progress is quite important to track, especially variables such as what we spend while gambling but that good habit does not seem to be maintained by the vast majority of gamblers because entertainment should not be accompanied by such seriousness, more precisely, people still want to win but still need to have fun and reduce seriousness, they don't want to face this problem like a stressful job. In addition, laziness and rest, limiting the release of energy are what I find very common in modern society, that leaves this tracking habit forgotten in a dark corner

It is true, some gamblers cannot do this because they are too comfortable with the gambling games they play that they forget and are not aware that they have to monitor the progress of their gambling, although not all the time. Yes, gambling should be enjoyed for fun and entertainment, seriousness should only be used if he needs it.
The majority of gamblers don't do this. Very few gamblers who do everything in a much more organized manner do this. These gamblers used to be very cautious in their activities and never spend beyond their limits, and the tracking helps them stay within the limits. Apart from this, people who have the addiction problem should follow it, because the same could help them in self-realization and stay away from gambling atleast for short time period.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where Do You Want To Go To If You Win $2 million On Lottery on: February 13, 2024, 10:30:10 PM
I prefer staying in my country and going on a world trip. We'll get better living conditions in different parts of the world, but being in our home country gives us the feeling as if we're in our real home. Maybe things can change looking at huge amounts of money, for now, this is the choice.

Life is not as easy as most people think. Some get lucky to enjoy themselves, whereas the majority keeps struggling till the last breath to survive. Another thing is that when we have an opportunity, we need to use it wisely. Opportunity missed is almost missed forever, and we are hoping for better days to come in everyone's life.
