2  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Cryptotithe - Crypto Taxes for the peasants on: September 19, 2018, 12:45:32 PM
Can't seem anything related to 'taxes'. Am I missing on something? Moreover, what is a crypto tax application? Your descriptions seem more like crypto-tracking. Is the build version compiles into an electron App? The demo on the repo isn't working. Nice to see some React and Ts work done here Smiley I'd probably contribute for learning TS sakes.

I think your missing something, if you go to the demo and close the getting started popup then go to the `Calculate Gains` Tab this is will tax would be calculated. You would press the customize button and then select the year and the method etc.... By default there is no data loaded so youd need to manually add some trades or import some from an exchange to get a better idea of how it all works. I have on my feature list already to add a demo mode that will just randomly add some trades so you can play around, but havent had the time to work on that yet.

Yes the build or desktop version using electron. It should just be a matter of cloning the repo, running install and then start.

As for the web app/demo not working, could you clarify exactly what doesnt work?

Feel free to contribute, happy to have help wherever possible

Hi all, been working on a project a bunch in my free time, https://github.com/starsoccer/cryptotithe. Its not really widely known as Ive only posted it on reddit once. The goal of it is really to replace cointracking or any other service you use for tracking your trades and calculating taxes and keep all of your data offline and not controlled by some 3rd party. Eventually I would like to avoid making any 3rd party requests but for now the only requests made are to cryptocompare for pricing data.

Quick list of the current features for those interested:
  • Import Trades from exchanges(binance, kraken, gemini, bittrex, poloniex)
  • Calculate gains using one of many methods(FIFO, LIFO, HCFO, etc..)
  • See how making trade will affect your current gains(what if trade)
  • Portfolio view using imported trades
  • Trade Timeline with Filtering by exchange or currency
  • Calculating balance by exchange based on trades for an exchange
  • Bulk Currency renaming

Anyways, would love to get some feedback, feature requests, and bug reports. Feel free to post in thread or file github issues or even create PR's.

Id actually disagree, but I am of course bias. The majority of deals/trades need no intervention. Id be interested in hearing what you consider to be a unique transaction vs a mindless one as most fall into the category of goods or services.

I have to say for a relatively new account with little to no personal information about your self you sure want a lot of information from users like their real names and physical address. Im not sure why you would need either of these. If its for shipping you can calculate shipping pasted purely on a zip code.

Yes, I am having the similar concerns here.
It's kind of KYC policy.
But with a new user and a new website/company, I am not sure if anyone wants to provide all those sensitive personal information.
Btw, is this service only available in the US?

First off I dont think an address is required for KYC policy. Think of ebay, I dont even think they ask for an address to sell something.

While I can understand asking for an address for return shipping after a deal is made, requiring anybody to send you their address before you even commit to buying anything is very iffy to me. You basically then have a list of address where crypto users live and possibly have crypto funds held. Its just asking for trouble.

We don't keep them on file or even care about your address to be entirely honest. It's just for the following.

thanks for expressing your concerns. You can skip that part of the form, so I am not sure why everyone is complaining about it. We ask for the address to verify that person. They try to scam us or scam people on our marketplace we will ban them from using our service, and another reason why is to verify who sent the item. If you end up sending us something that person will have a return address on the package anyways.

If you are not comfortable giving out your address you do not have to. Unfortunately, a return address is required for shipping anyways.

Your reply doesnt make much sense honestly. You say the address is to verify a person but dont clarify what verify actually means. You cant verify someone by simply asking for an address. Anyone can put down anyone elses address so there is no real verification being done unless your shipping post cards with codes that users have to provide to prove they live there.

As for return addresses on packages, they are required but there is no reason to use a real address. You can use a PO Box or a mail forward service for instance.

8  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] HTC Vive Used - Good Condition on: August 15, 2018, 11:34:16 AM
Looking to sell a used HTC Vive I have. Includes original box, controllers and all cables and packaging. It has less then 100 hours of use on it. Looking to get about 500$ for it, but open to offers or trades.

Willing to use escrow, but buyer pays fee, otherwise buyer pays first.

You might need to bring the price down because for that much you can get a brand new vive now.

Price changed to 400$

Good day I made a transaction on you website yesterday 12/01/2018 and discovered to day 13/01/2018 that the transaction has been cancelled. Details that transpired when i made the transaction are below:

Due to plunge in bitcoin the price of the bitcoin has changed from 0.025 to 0.018666 and that is what i sent making a sum of $253. Once the deal goes through the escrow will remit you the money, i look forward for a successful deal and i promise you that better days are ahead once the deals becomes successful.

Hey Omrex, what ended up happening with your escrowmybits transaction? Have you done anymore? I might use their site depending on what you tell me. I have buyers and sellers with tons of bitcoin/money and need a legit escrow service...

His transaction was eventually resolved, but because he publicly disclosed his secret key it took a significantly longer then normal and required responding to multiple security questions. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact our support team so they can assist you.

Yes as well as other forks
16  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTB] Used Bitcoin addresses on: December 09, 2017, 01:23:50 PM
You should probably list all the snapshots that you're looking for in the OP such as clams/BCC/BTG, etc.

This way people won't have to bombard you with thousands of addresses that contain nothing of importance and nobody will accuse you of ripping people off. AFAIK lots of people are saying they're buying old BTC addresses and say that it doesn't need to contain any funds and "any address is fine" but in the end they only want the ones that will make them a profit.

Just a suggestion. You don't have to follow up with it if you don't want to.

Yes I understand, but listing out all the forks simply means anyone can claim the coins. Most people including myself buying addresses are hoping to get forked coins that other do not realize they even have.

By any chance telling me here or over private message what's the deal ? I mean let me know what type/kind of addresses you'r looking for and I let you know if I have any or knew any holder.

As I stated I am looking for all kinds of used addresses, address that held funds long ago, or that held within the last few months

So,are you looking for bitcoin addresses which had funds during forks ? and are you looking to claim BCH and BTG from those addresses or will you buy any bitcoin address that had funds much before the forks (say in 2014 )

Again, I am looking for addresses that are used and may contain funds from a fork or other coins that one is not aware of.

What is the average price you are willing to offer? I might have about 1-5 somewhere.

It varies quite a bit and I am negotiable. PM me with the 1-5 addresses and I will let you know if I am interested in any.
