It is evident that Conte does not want to use Osimhen as part of his squad team for next season, Lukakau is most preferable to him but getting Lukaku to play for him is now a big concern as Chelsea are not ready to loan him but sell him off and I see that the price tag on him feel unworthy to Napoli to have him play for them. Also, he’s not that young that will be utilized for a very long time in the club.
For Osimhen, I believe that PSG is the serious team until now to sign him as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe since their choices are limited in my opinion. Sometimes I fail to understand African teams. I mean there is no longer top teams and weak teams. They are all weak right now with only few exceptions.
When I see the latest results I wonder if these teams play football in real life or trying to help gamblers win from "unexpected" results?
Ivory Coast, Mali, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Nigeria and Tunisia missed points against team that used to be lower than them. Some of these teams have repetitive disappointment during this competition and before it by the way..

That's the problem with all African players that are playing in Europe in fact. They care a lot about their teams more than their nations. They make less efforts and contacts to avoid injuries.. You can see Salah in Liverpool and with Egypt, you feel like there is two players with the same name. Same for so many players in Nigeria or other nations. Talking about Nigeria, they will have a game tomorrow against Benin which is third in the group for the moment and Nigeria is expected to win and jump in front of them. Am not sure about other country football federations how they treat their national players in terms of pay every bit of numerations and giving much of undiluted priority to critically injured players from an international match for the nation but for the case of Nigeria I guess past experiences has taught most of these players to act in the manner they do. We all know the bitter truth about this compared to how these players club sides treats and attend to them. If I was a footballer I wonder where you be expecting to give my totality. In tomorrow's game Nigeria has to win to have a much better chance of qualifying for the WC. Finidi has to make sure to grab this three points at all cost. If we consider what you say then I will agree with you about players that have a nice wage in top European teams but most of these africain players are not getting that good in their local leagues nor in European ones. The exceptions might be Salah, Mane, Osimhen and few other names that have high salaries. The others aren't doing that good to impress top teams to recruit them. Alexis Sanchez name for example popped up after a World Cup, same goes for several South American countries. Well, I was surprised by Barcelona decision to sell Jules Kounde in this transfer market because last season Joles Kounde was always Xavi choice in every match and if you look at last season statistics, Jules Kounde played 35 matches and managed to score one goal. I think his performance is quite good but Barcelona will sell him, is this a blunder they will make.
Even though they need money, they have to look at the contribution they have made to the team because releasing important players to other teams will of course have a negative impact on the balance of the team next season.
Well, Manchester United is reportedly ready to recruit Kounde, especially as Manchester United needs a quality defender and Kounde is worth pursuing because his quality looks quite good from his performance last season. I wouldn't compare like that exactly, I think the result of this goal difference in goals scored and conceded is due to poor tactics and match formation. They don't just need to change the coach who tried to build something all season and failed - they also need to buy players, review and rebuild the squad. I think only a new coach can do that without bias
Well in Sir Alex Ferguson era, Manchester United name was shining and things in the team weren't great after him. Ten Hag saved Manchester United in the beginning from a disastrous season and he was able to win a trophy at least this season. I wouldn't say that he was the saviour or the best choice but at least he tried but Manchester United needs more qualified players and to rely less on players that no longer can add something to the team. I agree that a new coach and new strategies are a must to improve the team especially with a comprehensive staff that could give some money to recruit new players so a better outcome would be expected. |

It’s very close to the start of Euro 2024, and teams are playing their last friendly matches before the tournament. Tonight, there was a friendly match between Portugal and Croatia, two important contenders for the cup. Croatia beat a 2-1 victory. Luka Modric scored from the penalty spot in the 8th minute, and Ante Budimir added another goal in the 56th minute. Portugal’s lone goal came from Diogo Jota.
I couldn't follow the match properly but from what I heard, Portugal did have at least another clear opportunity to score but failed, same goes for Croatia, so at the end there wasn't big difference and Croatia merit that victory. After all, this remains an unofficial game since their last official face to face matches ended with Portugal victories if I am not mistaken. |

Then we had England who lost against Iceland ? For real ? Iceland doesn't have a solid team anymore so I really don't understand how they lost this one because the first 11 players were all stars and most likely will all play at Euro.
As much as I would like to say "it's just a friendly", I can't because this is how England behaves. Whenever there is so much optimism within them, they fumble. That is part of the reason I wouldn't pick them if I were to pick a team to win the Euro. I am not reading much into this loss though, but I believe it should be a wake-up call for England to realise that they're not invincible. Friendlies results should be taken carefully and it does not tell the truth all the time even though a defeat against Iceland is still hard to swallow by England followers. I find England performance dropping over the years, yet I believe they will play advanced stages in this competition. There is definitely mistakes done and hopefully Southgate will fix it. I think he swapped the position of these players intentionally to see what he could get? |
