Apparently we can throw this plan to the trash after Real Madrid got 1 - 1 draw against Betis and best thing to hope is a draw between their two rivals.
A victory of Girona will make them first and the victory of Barcelona will be a threat in long term for Real Madrid..

Lens successive victories was stopped yesterday and Brest could take their place in the scoreboard and since Reims will face Nice then I assume they will not advance in the ranking until both Reims and Lens face each others in the next round.

Yeah Manchester United are 3 goals down vs Bournemouth. Honestly I had to double check the price to be sure I read correctly that Bournemouth indeed scored these goals. Only few minutes left and Manchester United seems to be hopeless to recover.
Manchester United received an early goal but failed so far to get the draw or flip the score like Liverpool did vs Crystal Palace. That's the difference between a good team and a failure.
Otherwise Sheffield United are leading with 1 goal vs Brentford, that's good if they can make the second victory and try to save themselves.

Valencia lost its yesterday match vs Getafe by one goal at the end of the legal time.. They were able to get at least a point from that match but they failed. This is the fourth game in a row where they fail to collect three points. Valencia were ineffective in attacking, barely no serious attempt was made to score. At the opposite, Getafe was controlling the game made some attempts to score. Valencia were playing with 10 players in the second half before losing another player after they received the goal before one of Getafe player gets a red card too. Nice game

Real Madrid will have hard moments away vs Real Betis for sure. I think Real Betis main objective in this game is to get the draw and pick a point from Real Madrid as usual.

Let's assume Joan Felix wants to leave Atletico Madrid and move to Barcelona at any cost and Atletico refused to sell him or give it in loan again then what he could do to force them? Simeone could end up letting him on benches and destroying his career until 2029. This long term contract type made the position of the player to negotiate with his team very weak. I doubt Atletico Madrid will do that obviously but if they need him they will try to convince him to play with them with a promesse to be sold later easier.

Lyon tend to relegate this season. Historically in Ligue 1, all teams under seven points by the fourteenth round relegated and I don't feel Lyon will make the exception this season. Such a bad performance of the attack and defence line doesn't help the team progress at all in Ligue 1. Possessing the ball most of the time will not help, they have to finish attack attempts with goals. One serious attempt in the match is useless when your rival is scoring goals over and over.
Toulouse, Monaco then Nantes next rounds. They have to get 3 points vs Toulouse and at least a point from Nantes in order to advance a little, otherwise they will align with the historical fact.

Although Spurs aren't a reference since they are very instable and fluctuating a lot but I agree that Aston Villa are doing good this season overall. It is hard to compare Ajax Amsterdam with Lyon since Ajax in Eredivisie is quite similar to Bayern Munich in Bundesliga. Everyone will be shocked whenever they see Bayern Munich in the bottom of the table. People were surprised when they saw Ajax Amsterdam in the relegation zone. When it came to Lyon, they started dropping slowly. Like 10 years ago, they were competing PSG for the title then they were hovering around the fourth spot up to 7th or 8th and this season they crashed to the last place for good. What happened to Lyon was progressive at the opposite of Ajax Amsterdam and I find it difficult for them to avoid this trap this season!

Manchester United don't lack rich ownership, good management and skillful players, however this club didn't succeed from a long time. Their fans are waiting for a trophy since 2017 Europa League title under Mourinho and last EPL title in 2013 under Sir Alex Ferguson's. EFL Cup isn't that important comparing to EPL and European competitions obviously.
I think Ten Hag is a good coach but he failed so far to upgrade his team to be challenging for top clubs. He sometimes fail to collect three points from mid-table teams..
Manchester United are in the 7th position thanks to Brighton defeat but next game vs Chelsea isn't reassuring and they can drop in ranking if they lose it.

Monaco latest fluctuations made them lose points and become third and that victory prohibited them from going down since Lille is very close to them. The other teams aren't that far and everyone round could switch the table much. Monaco could return to the second spot if they win vs Rennes next round since Nice might lose points against Reims. I know Nice are better but Reims could be a pain if they keep their defence solid for once.

There is other parameters to take on consideration like the total time played by each player, whether he just finish an attempt or create it and score it, whether his team score a lot of goals and whether his goals ratio compared to his team goals is high or not.
I will give an example, Cristiano Ronaldo scored 15 goals from 39 total goals scored by Al-Nassr including him. That's mean he scored 38.5% of Al-Nassr goals. Mitrovic scored 13 goals from Al-Hilal 46 goals, so he was responsible for 28.2% of goals but he is in competition with Malcolm who scored 9 goals (19.5%) while Talisca with 8 goals was responsable for 20.5% of goals although he had less playing time than Malcolm, which means he isn't competing Cristiano Ronaldo as much as Malcolm competing Mitrovic. In the playing time and goals scored by minutes played, they are close from each other. Sadio Mane and Milinkovic-Savic effects aren't that important comparing to the others.
To summarise, Cristiano Ronaldo is slightly better than Mitrovic for the moment but Mitrovic is advancing faster and could flip easily Cristiano Ronaldo advantage.

Napoli results depends a lot from Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia performance. This season started with a lot of problems between Napoli and Osimhen, the players skills dropped comparing to the previous season and so Napoli are dropping in the ranking to the 5th spot for the moment. It is true Osimhen scored 6 goals in the ten matches he played but I think he could do better..
Yesterday's defeat by three goals was bad for Napoli, their defence took heavy damage and that's the other part of Napoli's problems. Next time they will face Juventus and two weeks after Roma. These two games are the most dangerous ones for Napoli and they have to win it in order to stay in the competition for a Champions League spot since the scudetto is getting away from them.

Bayer Leverkusen were more consistent and threatening than Borussia Dortmund but unfortunately they weren't able to score more than a goal. After all a draw isn't a bad result since they still can remain in the first place. The bad part is that Bayern Munich will join them once they win against poor Union Berlin. This could take a month obviously to happen unless one of the teams drop points.
For Borussia Dortmund, they have to improve and try to reduce the amount of goals they are receiving while trying to score more goals to avoid getting a surprising draw at the end of the game..

This season has only one difference from the previous one which is Liverpool are doing better more than Manchester City tends to miss points or gunners doing good.
In fact Manchester City do miss points even in the previous years even vs weaker teams. Arsenal do pick the first spot for long time and finish by conceding defeats and lose the title. Even Liverpool aren't that perfect but they are way better than the previous season which should be an alert to Pep Guardiola and Arteta.
After all, a draw vs annoying Tottenham Hotspur shouldn't disappoint Manchester City for long.
