1  Economy / Economics / Re: Work From Home or The "Laptop Class" is Immoral or Not? on: Today at 02:33:14 PM
Surprised to see someone voted Yes lol.
I have nothing against Elon but he is just not making sense here. Because some people go to the office or stand on the manufacturing line to do their job, he also wants people to go into the office and do the work there. If it can be done online then it's an option. Not sure what he is trying to make people do.
2  Economy / Economics / Work From Home or The "Laptop Class" is Immoral or Not? on: May 23, 2024, 05:01:04 PM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1h0ejcJrXc

I just watched a video talking about Laptop Class where Elon sees working from home as moral issue. Curious to know what your take on this kind of view because there are actually people who also agree with him.  And some don't of course. It could be different in the Bitcoin community, just a Yes or No poll to answer, and sure thing it will be good to share your opinion on why you chose Yes or say No.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: Money addiction on: May 23, 2024, 04:27:22 PM

It's not money addiction, it's the need for money. You can't turn on your lights and gas if you have no money. We are slaves to work constantly because of the need to have money to live.

There are places where you don't need money but it would be in the most remote areas where the community lives in a slow lane.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are banks against cryptocurrency? on: May 22, 2024, 07:03:41 AM
Banks are fighting tooth and nail against cryptocurrency because it disrupts their entire castle. Here's why they're so wary about crypto:

Power Struggle: Crypto is all about decentralization, cutting out the middleman – the banks themselves. They lose control over money creation, interest rates, the whole game.  They're like kings facing a rebellion.

Regulatory Roulette: Banks love a good rulebook, and crypto is the Wild West right now. No clear regulations make them nervous. It's like playing poker with a marked deck, except there are no cards yet, just chaos.

Volatility Vacation: Crypto prices swing harder than a pirate ship in a hurricane. Banks are all about stability, calculated risks. Crypto's like a rollercoaster ride they can't stomach.

Don't get me wrong, some banks are dipping their toes into the crypto pool. But for the most part, they're seeing it as a threat to their dominance, not a welcome partner. They're hoping it's just a fad, a flash in the pan, but the future of finance might be getting a whole lot more democratic, and the banks are definitely not cheering that on.

Hope this helps!

- Aditya, The Bitcoin Guy transacting Bitcoins with https://onelink.to/speed-wallet!

It's not just banks but the government itself is actually fighting over its dominion over the wealth of the people. Because if they couldn't control the money, it also means the government has less power over the people.

Not able to get hold of the people means, the people can fight back against the government thus end up in a revolution.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are undervalued in 2024? on: May 22, 2024, 06:31:12 AM
Among the zillions of coins listed on the market, which one(s) do you think is/are undervalued right now? And why? I believe Litecoin is an undervalued cryptocurrency because of its limited supply (84m coins), greater transaction capacity (than Bitcoin), and built-in privacy features (Mimblewimble). I also believe Elastic (XEL) and Golem (GNT) are undervalued as they're decentralized supercomputing networks with limitless potential.

What is/are your pick(s)? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley

I used to think the same for litecoin. But now I have realized that there are many more options where people can invest and though crypto market would always increase in valuation, the total market cap of each coin might not increase or in worse case, decrease. There are too many new and promising coins, there are hypes on memecoins where traders pour large sum of money. There are newer coins like Solana that promises better utility. With so much new and better options to invest, older coins that are 2 years+ in operation and still hasn't caught up a large market would soon disappears and newer coins overtakes them.

So much more options and cheaper too which if a little increment of its price increases, you can already take a profit.
The bull run for altcoins however seem not happening yet and I doubt there will be in a few months, I think all the institutional investors are only aiming or BTC and ETH ETF these days while the regulations are yuet not ironed.

6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is boxing the worst sport to bet on? on: May 21, 2024, 05:29:41 PM
I've been gambling here in crypto gambling for a long time, but I've never read or seen sport betting about boxing. Are there any? I'm just not sure, because what I often see in casinos are football games; what else? There is also no soccer, and the rest I have no idea about.

The majority of gamblers prefer the sport without physical harm or attack. Although there are definitely those who bet on boxing, UFC, and kickboxing but not at the casino to bet, right?
Are you sure you've been bettin on crypto for a while?  Grin Because boxing promotions and UFC are advertised a lot on here as well and on many crypto betting sites as well. Stake.com and all major crypto betting websites do special promotions whenever there's a big fighting promotion too and will even make it a major part of their website while it's going on. For example every time I log in to stake.com I see UFC front and center.

Even the entire banner permanently representing the entire sports section of the website features 4 athletes, 3 of which are part of fighting sports:

I think that if stake does this as one of the biggest crypto casinos they must know a thing or two. Probably people are spending a lot betting on fighting sports. I don't know if from the player's part it's a wise decision to bet on such sports that have so many accusations of rigging etc.

There are only 2 threads about UFC/MMA, but even so, it's very noticeable because it surfaces every day to the top. But boxing threads in the gambling section is a lot in the forum. If he visits the gambling section, I think he would have seen those threads too.

In UFC, its only Dana that controls the athletes so he knows which one should be the champ and which can retire soon. If that ain't a one-man maffia himself, I don't know what is.
7  Economy / Economics / Re: What scares me from investing in gold. on: May 21, 2024, 04:59:56 PM
When it comes to investment, people think of land, gold and BTC first.  But there are some problems here.  Normal people can't sell gold at the price they buy. Because the price at which gold is bought goes down a bit while selling and faces some problems. So I would say to invest in land and BTC. Land prices are increasing day by day.  And BTC is the most trusted medium to invest in. Here the money is safe and the expected profit is also possible from now on.
Not everyone can buy land for investment because the price is quite high for those who have minimal finances and they prefer gold for investment and the price is more affordable for them. Selling gold is not like land. We can't set a high price to sell it. We can make a profit from the gold we buy by storing it for a long period of time, but the profit does not match expectations with a long storage time.

I used to believe in gold as an investment as time goes by, but now I'm not really interested in investing in it anymore. I am more interested and safer in storing BTC. There are many things that I fear about storing gold at home, if we are traveling and our house is empty, we never know how thieves will get into our house and if a disaster occurs in our area such as a flood or a devastating earthquake, it is very difficult to find its existence

The point of having gold as an alternative is when there is no internet. Although I'm also more of BTC, i will still need to diversify to still profit.  You can just dig a hold for your gold, it doesn't necessarily like having 10 kilos of gold. You can just buy bits of it like 1 ounce of gold which right now is more than $2k.

1 ounce of gold is easy to hide. Just shove a stick and put in. Just remember where and make sure no weirdo is going to tresspass there with metal detector.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Luxury items stock will be good way to go on: May 21, 2024, 04:37:34 PM

Luxury cars?
Maybe they think they could sell the car in the future when it's gonna be rare, I think they are going to be phased out one day when the EVs take over the industry.
Hope they have a place to store these cars.

If I have to invest in tangible items, I think collectible cards or gold will be my preference. Easier to hide and than huge items like yacht , though I;d like to live in one of these one day.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Os boxing the worst sport to get on? on: May 20, 2024, 05:57:41 PM
Your worries are not unfounded. It is shocking to learn that the Olympic Committee has decided to cut ties with the international boxing federation because of corruption. If such prominent international federations can be steeped in corruption, it casts a dark shadow on the integrity of other more clandestine events and leagues like UFC.

The mere whisper of corruption within fight promotions would deter any rational person from placing bets on the sport. Betting should always be grounded on sound information and astute judgment; but when signs point towards malpractice, the faith is shaken and vulnerability to losses is heightened.

If you are one of those looking at placing bets on sports such as boxing or the UFC, here are a few pointers: Dive into comprehensive research; steer clear of matches or promotions that raise an eyebrow and maybe even consider spreading your bets across other sports, those that do not have a dark cloud looming over them with corruption scandals. Moreover, always remember: responsible betting should be more than just a phrase, it should be an action taken with full awareness of the risks involved.

There may be political factor also on why boxing is not included in Olympics. But that is sad for boxers who are hoping to join this world event and that owed to corruption allegations, they can't participate in this historical event. Well, they can always fight inside the ring even without Olympics event, right? They have their own event anyway.

It's always politics since these organisations are no different from the mafia who always want their cut despite no involvement in certain boxing event. Sometimes they decide who is to win and who fights who because a young boxer is spilling them all. This is also happening in MMA, they even trade fighters now from other organisation.
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What type of a trader/investor is this? on: May 20, 2024, 05:43:51 PM

He already got $80k and not sold? The profit is already the peak level but he must be the greediest and he thinks the profit will go more than 80k. well, he lost.

Whats with that STON.fi got to do with his SOLANA memecoin?  STON.fi is a TON defi platform. This is simply a wrong link to insert in that image.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: May 20, 2024, 06:05:50 AM
Yes, let's talk about that, Errol barking on him I mean WTF? unless Errol really wanted a piece of Ryan now as he is the cash cow and obviously Errol wanted big fights after that devastating lost to Spence. And for sure Ryan wanted all the attention that he is getting right?

And regardless what will be the outcome, this guys is a great for boxing, perhaps if he is cleared then he might really be looking for a Errol Spence fight or someone that can give him big purse.

Ryan Garcia vs Errol Spence will depend on the outcome of Ryan's B sample because if found positive that he is taking PEDs then most likely some sanctions will be given to him thus jeopardizing this proposed fight. But if Ryan comes clean then I think Garcia vs Spence will be big for both as like you said, Spence needs a big fight after that devastating loss to Crawford.

The result of the B sample from Ryan will be coming out in 2 days. I can't fight the link though, but I have seen and heard him saying that he doesn't give a f**k about what the result are. And then blurted out that he will put a boxing league of his own. Not sure if he is serious or what, but that is going to be a crazy idea again coming from Garcia.

Bill Haney then responded that what Ryan wanted is to established a boxing organization that will allow the used of Peds, LOL.

We will see then, it seems that Ryan is anticipating that his B sample will also be positive.

Ryan is too popular to be ignored in the boxing industry. If banned he will just join the exhibitions being matched everywhere by the celebrities today. I think Ryan will be a good match with Jake. They are friends but I think people will still watch them. Or he fights against Sean Omalley.

Even if Haney will be successful in bring Ryan down in the industry and nullified his loss, its not something that will be erased on the internet.
12  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 19, 2024, 05:19:48 PM

There is no news about this war anymore unless Congress will once again need to send money to Zelenski. That's the only time this war will be flashed on TV. They keep praising Ukraine is winning but their lands were taken by Russians which if you are not as updated as getting all the channels that talk about this war, you wouldn't know who is winning.

So far the only confirmed information is that Russia is already taking Kharkiv. If a person thinks independently, this info already tells the Russians are winning.
13  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Which crypto exchange do you think has the best referral program? on: May 19, 2024, 03:42:26 PM

Kucoin and Bybit seem relentless in their promotion which they give away USDT for new registrants. I think you can lure those people new in crypto to simply signup under your ref link.

There are just people however will not go under a referral link but would rather sign up without it. Probably because they wouldn;t want you watching how much they have spent in crypto.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake curse strikes again, rapper loses on Fury, Usyk bet on: May 19, 2024, 03:23:23 PM

Did he ever share his bet slip whenever he won a match? I noticed it's always the loss.
Losing is never his big problem for the rapper is very rich and all these are just him promoting Stake. Even in other sports forums, his tweets like this are being shared and discussed. He is on the side of the people who are rigging the fight, it however ended not the way they wanted so it's considered curse.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: May 18, 2024, 07:25:17 PM
What is this fight becoming? I'm afraid of what will happen until she arrives. If it continues like this, I'd rather they move forward as much as possible to avoid this kind of senseless thing. Tyson's comment doesn't make any sense

He slightly insulted the UFC fighters that Jake knocked out lol probably not his intention but just to annoy Jake that he hasn't KO real men.

https://youtube.com/shorts/EQ--iivPqOI

I really thought Mike would not make those a hype since he hasn't made that remark in the press conference, seems different right now.
16  Economy / Economics / Re: How safe is it to keep your money and gold underground? on: May 18, 2024, 06:35:32 PM
This method of saving money/gold underground has been a practice of old and is still applicable to most people in this generation. It might look safe and it's also risky,if your saving your money underground you'll definitely use an object to indicate that exact spot where the money was buried in that case nobody is expected to see you.I've heard stories of how people's money were achieved underground all because they were seen during the process. It's best you save your money in banks or investment.

This is not a guaranteed way to pass down wealth from the old generation to the new. Several gold stashes have been discovered not by their kino of which some are only discovered when the new owner of the house tried renovating.

The older generation are also very careful in giving away their gold stash to their sons and daughters because they have not taught them well about money. Or they're just not trusting people.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concerns grow over online gambling among teens on: May 17, 2024, 07:00:53 PM
So why has the school administration not tried to implement such gambling education in their students as an initiative knowing their kids on the campus are already making worse mistakes in life?

The school should be the first to blame and they really tried to publish the kind of article to tell the world their school hasn't done something.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Hyperinflation - Will it lead Countries to Adopt Bitcoin? on: May 16, 2024, 06:16:30 PM

I think there is no better option for countries that are greatly affected by inflation but to adopt what makes them earn money with so little investment and put their resources to use. The unused energy they have shall be used to make money just like the geothermal of El Salvador. If a country has falls that can produce energy, that might just be saving their economy too than adding more debt by printing.
19  Other / Meta / Re: I want to know if this forum allows me to post ads to facilitate a deal on: May 16, 2024, 03:47:20 PM

You can also introduce your company in the Service Announcements https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=84.0

Announce as fancy as possible and tell your reader that your company can ship mining machines anywhere if this is what your company can do. I'm interested to see what sort of products you sell. This is from China I think people will expect them to be cheap.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Naturally Chase loses in gambling.. on: May 15, 2024, 07:02:49 PM
The goal of getting back the loss seems a natural reaction as you say. If someone takes something from you, you obviously will object and will likely take it back. The problem is that when we get it back we want more thinking we got it back easy so we might as well win easily. Getting even is not enough.
