To me, this is not just about marriage. it’s about responsibility, dreams, and building a path for the future. Fulfill my duty to my parents, starting a new life with my partner. Laying a strong foundation for the next generation together, this makes it the most important decision of my life. Thank you sir.
My own suggestion would be not to overdo the ceremony but rather put the money toward establishing your lives together. Especially with the price of housing these days. That might be harder for some people than others but a flashy wedding is burning money to my mind.

Of the two people I gave trial sums of Bitcoin to, both lost their phones (even though I had told them specifically to make sure they backed up their wallets). One found their lost one again after a search. I also gifted some but having learned my lesson, I gave a paper wallet and kept a copy of the private key.
I can't believe that some people actually keep Bitcoin on cellular telephones. I also keep a backup of every private key I create to try to protect someone from themselves. Better to trust me than some random internet site or app. Wallets are for losers. Meh, this was back around 10 years ago when there was some hope, for many of us, that Bitcoin would be a currency and the feat of simply transferring value between mobile devices utilizing a distributed peer-to-peer network was fairly exciting. The amounts were also only around $10 at the time which, well, obviously, that got a little more interesting over time.

I recently thought about my collection of BTC buttons, tie pins, etc., and wondered if Id ever wear one again. I used to wear a BTC baseball cap everywhere I went, including on stage. That was before we started worrying about $5 wrenches.
Well, on the optimistic side, there must be a lot of people out there with fairly low balances (or even the ETFs now) enough that the prospects for a potential robber might not actually look that great. On the other hand, if they know some (but not a lot) they might assume you're carrying all your stash on your phone. If you're driving around in a Lambo with a Bitcoin wrap, all bets are off, of course. In the end though, need to know seems to be the best policy and the number of people who need to know is somewhere close to zero.
A long time ago, in one of my classes (I was teaching digital electronics to military trainees), I offered to give $1 in Bitcoin to anyone who cared to learn about it. A few students were interested, especially the females. I asked them to invest one month's worth of their allowance (paid to them monthly by the military academy) in Bitcoin. This would have gotten them a good amount, maybe close to 0.5 BTC at the time. But no one did what I suggested. Not to my knowledge at least.

The tax free gift rate in the USA is a pretty good amount, relatively speaking compared with your mentioning your €2690 per person per year rate.
The correct gift rate is infinite. The specious argument that the government helps create the environment for commerce and therefore deserves a share (a lion's share, apparently) of sales and income is specious enough. That it somehow contributes to the interpersonal relationship that leads to gifts of sums of money is a completely unjustified position. The only actual valid interpretation of the gift tax is "I sees it and I wants it."

TL;DR Nocoiners will nocoin. No use wasting energy over them. The age of evangelism is over IMHO.
They are often risk averse while also being very bad at assessing risk.

Bitcoin has taken a new place among all the amazing technologies, discoveries, and creations that have occurred since 1000 AD to the present. Maybe this is a surprising discovery of the world to come. It certainly has much more of a claim than quantum computing which I strongly suspect is going to take a seat with nuclear fusion and always be 10 years away.

They come on their own when they see your success... humans are a greedy jealous bunch of mofo's Fomo mofos.

Here, the tax-free gift amount is €2690 per person per year. But if you receive it from someone abroad, there is no limit and you don't need to report it to taxes!
Oh, that has to be convenient for, uh, politicians.

That's just it. I have been telling myself every cycle I am going to shave some off.... But the only viable option I can come up with is to "buy more." I am not greedy at all; I have no real responsibilities, no need for a bigger house or nicer car. And you can only buy so much Hookers and Blow... Now what??? As I am really not interested in trying to take over the world... Pinky and the Brain style...What else is there to do??? K
There are the obvious financial options that are the usual choices and probably smart to at least venture into a little (though when considering such, I get into a similar dilemma as yourself. But still, I aim to at least make a beginning by the end of the year). More interestingly, having some backing often gives you options for improving things with your employment and income situations. If a company is paying you to do X, if you can find a way to do X for yourself, that can possibly be 3x the income for the same work with potentially much more flexibility. As a word of caution though, I have tried this and found that I was not very good at the business side of things (I often say now that having a good mentor would have probably been worth more than all my university experience).
Strangely, I never wanted to quit any job..hey, maybe I should make them fire me so I can retire I always loved the work, hated the corporate bullshit. My favorite job was 100% flexible but was too far and sadly, didn't pay enough at the time.

I'll take Richy_T's recommendation and tell you, FUCK YOU!
Good start but one other piece of advice, if I could give it, would be to develop a thick skin. The internet's a rough place but none of it is real.

Maybe as part of a will it could include taking a personal finance class before receiving the money.
Or, and hear me out here, tell them they've got to spend $30M in 30 days in order to receive the rest of the inheritance. I understand it's quite an effective plan.
a snack for buddy What kind of ramen is that?

A sad thing was that we could have had been screaming our heads off for guys to buy during that period, and they don't listen.
I have long since stopped advising people to buy Bitcoin. Outwardly, I'll say because it's a big risk and people should do their own research for themselves (which is true) but inwardly, it's because I know they'll find a way to fuck it up and blame me. I sold a friend a small sliver of coin and he immediately used it to buy some "red hot" shitcoin. He'd be up about 10x now if he'd just sat on it.

We are now in the annoying phase where everyone who knows you have bitcoin but doesn't themselves tells you how they would have sold at the top and been rich. Which they didn't because, as previously stated, they don't have bitcoin.

Did we just bounce off $110k flat? Beautiful! Not much of a bounce. Passed through from what I see.

😯😯Is this RAND's imaginary home computer from 1954?
Where a typewriter/terminal, a TV, and a gentleman standing on the left have been Photoshopped next to a picture of the control console in the maneuvering room of a US Navy submarine.
Maybe

Does this proof work for you guys? To quash any suspicions about the likelihood that I had posted fake images or images of equipment that was not mine has definitely been quite an eye-opening experience! I'm even surprised I lasted this long... You're sweating this too much. I would just have replied "Fuck you". Why would anyone lie about being a radio ham and why would anyone care if they did? However, just to show solidarity, I'll go ahead and post a picture of me with my rig...

Haha you’ve been sleeping on Buddy for the past 2 weeks... Richy_T mentioned it was the reason it’s been double posting earlier
It's was actually something else. I took down the server CB runs on to transfer the guts to another box so I made CB run on something else. Then the CPU fan died on that so I reenabled CB on the original server and when the new fan came in and I got *that* fixed and turned back on, I forgot to disable CB on one or the other. The ATH thing is because someone mentioned it and that started it rattling around in my head again. It was time for a bit of a refurb anyway and it still needs some more, to be honest. I totally forgot the glasses were part of the background image and not a 'stamp' that I can move around. The timezones were always there though. I just made them a bit more prominent.
