it was 20 thou years ago and that's why we got so smart...it ain't now and that's why we are getting progressively dumb and dumberer...I have a front view as i see the level of students' intellect and preparation with a noticeable downslope in the last 12-15 years, accelerating after 2020. From my point of view, i don't see how it could be reversed. I don't know what is causing it, and why there is no urgent alarm sounded so far. We are on the way to 'idiocracy', maybe governed by the AI 'overloads'. I am sorry to paint a bleak picture...maybe someone has an explanation...I would like to hear it.
I'm not saying it's social media... But it's social media.

I am not sure how it's related to Coinbase. I saw the email address was Coinbase@pro.space. But this is the receiver email. If a user uses their email on the internet, it's not hard for a scammer to collect email information from the internet and use them for their purposes. The email they got is pretty much an old scam. I am surprised these scam attempts still work, and people fall for it. The scammers send the same email to thousands of emails. One Reddit member said the Bitcoin address he received from a scammer to pay; he already got five $400 transactions. This means five people got scammed. I did not see anyone commenting on whether they are Coinbase users. I have a multitude of email addresses and this scam turns up on many of them, mostly the one I use the most for when I'm expecting to get spam.

Good idea. But drinking lemonade with bitcoins would be very expensive. Here the cost will be 20-30 times higher due to the increased transaction fee of Bitcoin. So I consider it totally expensive. Business can be profitable if cryptocurrency other than bitcoin can be set in this business. Dude, they just need to buy a raspberry pi and set up a lightning node and preload their channel with a couplea hundred bucks and they're golden once the blockchain has synced.

Who cares what ledger do though. They are just a company, they aren't Bitcoin. The market will determine if that service is useful to people and being how many stupid people there are in the world I'm sure it will get used. Effect on Bitcoin is zero, the bocks keep coming, as always.
Nobody should care when it comes to Bitcoin but it is Bitcoin adjacent so worth talking about. There is a fair bit of FUD nonsense surrounding this but there is an important core of truth. Unfortunately, adjacent news often does affect Bitcoin price, especially in the skittish market we appear to be in (though sometimes very important news doesn't even move the needle).

Crypto news are a bit depressing don't you think ? Much more FUD and crap than positive news. Well a bit like real news I guess.
The ledger thing for example, they provide hardware wallets that help you be your own bank without too much complication (seed is secure even if the computer/smartphone isn't), then they offer a service where you need to KYC and give up your seed to a third party, makes sense NOT !
They are joining the lines of companies like BMW who are seeking subscription fees.

Thanks. He's absolutely right on the cat/mouse aspect, regarding it's not a mistake to limit requests from bitcointalk to imgur.
On the one hand, maybe. On the other hand, the problem is in part caused by internal site software that rewrites peoples' image links and there is a huge amount of money in the pot from people who donated to improve the site. It shouldn't be up to a user to implement an image upload site to fix things out of their own pocket. (Note that I do agree mostly with the reasoning behind the proxy).

Maybe imgur blacklisted Bitcointalk because of ChartBuddy, wouldn't be surprised, lol.
I did wonder that. But lots of other people use imgur across many threads and the proxy keeps the number of requests down. The bigger issue is likely because the proxy aggregates a *lot* of requests as being from the same address. Although it actually reduces the data requested from imgur, it looks like bad behavior.

Funny how no one asks the question, "Why the hell does the U.S. Govt have a massive bitcoin balance if TPTB hate bitcoin and crypto so much?"
Here is another funny question, "What the hell does the U.S. Govt plan to do with the massive bitcoin balance they have?" What do they do with anything they have? Embezzle it, of course.

I see no harm in that. The system has protection against serial uploads, but one image per hour is at will. Tell me what you need and we can look into it.
I don't think I should need anything but I'll let you know if I run into issues.

Hi Joker, just wanted to check if it would be OK for ChartBuddy from the Wall Observer thread to use your service. It's a bot with hourly uploads so just wanted to make sure to clear things with you. I'd be happy to credit you.
