241  Other / Off-topic / Sun Dog on: December 23, 2013, 11:40:58 PM
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_dog

Just learnt the name of the phenomenon I witnessed earlier. I photographed it, but don't believe I was able to capture all three suns in one frame due to its width. The other problem I have is that I can't seem to locate the cord to the camera to download the images. Surely, I didn't leave it in some hotel room during my epic Road Trip.

242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Rocky Mountain High for Bitcoin? on: December 23, 2013, 02:03:18 PM
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/12/22/colorado-resorts-brace-for-marijuana-tourism/4168959/

Quote
Colorado's ski resorts and mountain towns are bracing for an influx of tourists seeking a now-legal Rocky Mountain high.

Last year, the state legalized the possession and use of small amounts of recreational marijuana, and on Jan. 1 special stores will be allowed to sell pot to anyone 21 and over.

I say, the entity that opts to accept bitcoins on day one will be inundated with press, thus would enjoy a robust (no pun intended) first day sales and beyond.

Ironic, eh? DPR sits in a cell for committing a crime while using the internet for virtually the same activity that'll be legal in Colorado, i.e. selling a previous illegal substance. As far as I know, it won't be illegal to accept payment via bitcoins for pot in Colorado after the first.

Anybody here now of any entity that's planning on opening up shop in Colorado so that they can be informed as to how big their outlet can become? For the fullest impact, they must accept bitcoins on day one, otherwise accepting bitcoins on subsequent days would only mean that they're playing follow the leader.

Damn, I wish I wasn't so busy right now with RL affairs, otherwise I would make myself available at the Grand Opening of the one true first bitcoin-accepting specialty shop in Colorado as The Most Interesting Bitcoiner in the World. The only way I could do it is if I'm flown in and put up on their dime, for driving it would make me loose too many days. Flight and any hotel room for one day is all I'll ask, accepting no further payment.

243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Pręt d’Union: Is a Bitcoin hedge option viable? on: December 21, 2013, 04:33:01 PM
http://pulse.edf.com/en/three-years-time-well-thorn-side-banks/?utm_source=OutbrainInter&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Trafic

Quote
PEER-TO-PEER LENDING

The Pręt d’Union is the first website in France to offer online credit between individuals, or peer-to-peer lending. The idea is to return to the origins of the traditional mutual banking model, when savings by one customer were used exclusively to finance loans to another customer without any complex and potentially risky processing operations taking place between the two parties. Pręt d’Union is thus a platform where you can offer money as well as ask for it. The start-up carries out the payments, assesses applications and recovers funds.

Quote
Pręt d’Union earns money on the application fees paid by borrowers, but doesn’t earn anything on the interest charged. The business will break even once it reaches €100 million in loans paid out.

Discuss.

Game suggestions, like pin the tail on the Phin, and spin the goat.

Prizes given out for the best hack, like putting all B strings on Raw Dog's guitar, with a bonus reward for correctly guessing what year he'll notice.

247  Other / Off-topic / A waitress asked for my autograph. on: December 16, 2013, 03:58:46 PM
Yesterday morning I stopped at a cafe, oppose to the dinky service station available at that exit, for a cup of coffee for the road and to take a shit (apologies to the non-coffee drinkers  Roll Eyes). I asked the pretty petite girl donning the usual metal, once only saved for earlobes, if they took Bitcoin. She replied no, but said she heard about it when I asked her. Then I told her who I was. Come to find out, she has visited BitcoinTalk, and her sister is a big Bitcoin fan, of which is probably a member here. She asked for my autograph, of which is going to be given to her sister as a Christmas present, having to now no longer worrying about what to give her.

Soon, I'll be able to charge $400K USD for speaking fees, along with charging 1 BTC for lap dances at bridal showers. I've noticed more and more people staring at me in public now ever since Bitcoin started to enter the mainstream. I don't know what my future agent will be charging for commercials, but the first one I'll do free minus expenses since I'm a nice guy.

I look forward to the girl that received my autograph as a Christmas present to post here and state how happy she was/is.

248  Other / Off-topic / My next door neighbor continually masturbates every 2-3 hours in my garden... on: December 16, 2013, 04:18:05 AM
And he's doing my roses in. I have nothing against jacking off and am in fact pro-masturbation, but his fucking cum reeks and often makes me feel sick. It's complete milky schwag and he continually coughs his guts up pretty much every-time he jerks off from 6 in the morning to midnight. He coughs so violently that I've heard him puke several times. My windows are always shut yet his coughing still gets in along with his smelly vile cum. What do I do? If I ask him to stop doing it, I doubt he will. Do I threaten him with the police if he refuses? I don't want to do that, but this shit is making me feel physically sick, especially when he barfs. He lives with his grandmother who has hated me since I was a child. She even attacked me on one occasion for no reason what-so-ever. I don't mind her grandson masturbating as long as I can't smell it or hear him coughing or ruin my roses. He also has a 1-2-year-old goat and often leaves it in the house whilst he goes outside to whack the monkey. I can hear the goat crying and screaming whilst he's outside. He's a stupid skinny degenerate thieving Jeremy Kyle reject chav. I also believe I could kick the living shit out of him if it came to it, but I'm a pink-tutu-wearing pacifist and will only fight if I'm attacked and there's no other options.

And who the fuck actually gets addicted to masturbation? I mean seriously.

Wut do? Please advise.

A group of us go to some restaurant and all order goat. It'll probably be a Greek or Indian restaurant. Either one would work for me, albeit I lean toward the former.

Seriously!!!

252  Bitcoin / Hardware / CoinTerra Visit this Friday: Post questions and what pics you desire to ask/see. on: December 05, 2013, 03:43:37 PM
Good morning, fellow bitcoiners. <Atlas, get the fuck outta my head!>  Grin

As some of you may know, I'm currently on the road heading to Las Vegas, now in Beaumont, TX, and having dinner with edd this evening in his hometown not far from Austin. Tomorrow, I will be at CoinTerra's office, taking advantage of their open-to-all-at-any-time-lab-visit.

Post all your questions, and what pics you desire me to take while on-site in this thread. I will ask every question that is posted in this thread via my laptop. (Note to self: wipe stains off laptop prior to having it viewed by somebody apt to get the wrong idea.)

I will answer them in order, live, for there's probably no way for me to remember all the answers sans a recorder.

I am doing this on my dime and WILL NOT accept any compensation for this service(s) provided to/for my fellow bitcoiners.

That said, ask away.

This is over and beyond my reason for going to Las Vegas, and my hope is that http://www.thetutuproject.com/ starts accepting Bitcoin donation so that Bitcoin 100 can give them a $1,000 USD endowment.

The man you just shook hands with probably masterbated using the same hand within the past 72 hours. Also, on average, they'll less likely to wash their hands on a regular basis.

That said, consider going for the full frontal hug if you're a compulsive hand shaker.

Atlas, you here? After I leave Satoshi Forest, I'm heading to Las Vegas via I-10 and would have time to visit Austin. Love to treat you for dinner at a nice joint if you're interested. Please PM me for my number.

Left Sandwich, IL, about noon CST, and now in Seymour, IN, on my way to Satoshi Forest in Florida to cook a Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless with Jason King of Sean's Outpost.

Tomorrow, I may stop by knightmb's house in Franklin, TN, and buy him dinner.

From Florida, I'm heading to Las Vegas for the conference on the 10th and 11th.

On the way home, I'm going to fill in the Grand Canyon to save lives. As it stands now, some kid could get kill if they fell in, then get swept away from that ditch at its bottom.

After reading about half of TradeFortess' posts, for the life of me I can't figure out how this guy was even considered, let alone added to your trust list.

To be clear, theymos, I have no qualms with you. I'm just adding my voice to those currently out mega bucks seeking answers.

FYI, the next scammer tag thread I start here will be on InstaWallet if my 1,123+ BTC isn't returned soon. To date, I've yet to receive a single correspondence pertaining to my claims dating all the way back to mid-April of this year when their claims process first opened. It's relevant because Davout is a mod on this forum and his IW claim was paid out prior to most.

260  Economy / Service Discussion / A little spat between Milly and I concerning charities, et al. on: November 25, 2013, 12:36:29 AM
Moderator note: split from Bitcoin-Central, first exchange licensed to operate with a bank. This is HUGE

Let me guess. Mt Gox no longer serves US customers because Mark K. doesn't like baseball, hot dogs, or apple pie.

Hope I helped drive the post I quoted closer to home with my bunt. BTW, who's pitching? I'll break your nose if you say Who's...

Well, the Bitcoin1000 screwballs have checked in.  You are the kind of people who are making Bitcoin look ridiculous.  You set up some kind of charity (I assume it was not properly registered as such so the whole operation is probably illegal).  Then you set up a site filled with Bitcoin "wingnuts."  Instead of assisting charities to accept Bitcoin you demand they change their web site to your specifications.    Then the guy who "vets" these charities is a guy who runs around advocating braking into federal computer systems to steal the funds that were seized in the silk Road case.  Do you explain to these charities who exactly will be vetting them?

If Bitcoin is attain mass adoption you can't have a bunch of advocates running around setting up fake charities and fake banks where everybody has their funds stolen, while, at the same time, claiming this is vastly superior to the current system.

sturle - You really need to grow up and get some common sense.  If I operate a financial institution anywhere in the world and I have customer in USA or EU and I transfer money from that person to my account I have to register as a money transmitter in the country where the customer is.  If you want to believe some of the delusional people on here you are welcomed to do that.  I suggest you listen to the interviews with the US Money Transmitter Association that played on Lets Talk Bitcoin.  There are 2 long interviews in 2 different shows.  They explain the requirements that money transmitters have to go through.  You just keep repeating nonsense and if what you said was true I would be probably be trading on Kraken right now.

Bitcoin 100 screwball checking in.

My post had nothing to do with you or any of your sites, although I quoted you to drive my point home. I have no qualms with you whatsoever, assuming you were/are one of the good guys. Upon reading other posts directly your way, I may now have to reevaluate my previous position.

FYI, if you really want to stick it up my ass, take a look at this site: http://typhoonhaiyanrelieffund.org/

It ain't nothing special, just some dude attempting to raise a million bucks within 30 days and, it too, doesn't have a 501(c)3 in place, but probably will have oppose to Bitcoin 100, of which probably will not be obtaining one.

The only reason I visit this thread is to see the latest pertaining to Bitcoin-Central, seeing how it's thriving possibly on the backs of my three missing InstaWallet accounts totally 1,123+ BTC while there's still $1.8M dollars in IW's control according to the "block chain".

~TMIBTCITW (in case you're confused, it stands for The Most Interesting Bitcoiner In The World)

PS: I look forward to your apology, for I don't have an issue with you, but for some reason you seem to have one toward me.
