What are your hashrates? Have you compared them with crypto benchmarks sites?

It's too early to judge Vega, because it's only FE edition, with unoptimised drivers and high price tag. When ,,civil" Vega comes out with gaming drivers, then we can tell if its good or not.
@64dimmensions 5xx was quite improvement for gamers, I know it was just hard OC, but out of box was couple % faster than 1060 6gb, so casuals didn't have to bother with manual OC.

On many pools you can enable monitoring VIA email. You ll get notification when miner goes offline. For more accurate monitoring there was some app on android that was monitoring pools (per wallet adress).

Have you got enough powerful PSU? OC in general is very efficient.

Absolutely no problem, you can put totally different GPUs of one manufacturer in one rig (bear in mind, that paring AMD with Nvidia can occur some problems).

Which PSU model do you have? How old PSU is? How high were GPUs temps?
|

Shortening lifespan is myth. Even if this is true you wont notice this (I assume, that you will sell GPUs when mining wont be profitable)

You can also toggle "start with Windows" mode. It will be fully automatic then.

2 fan designs are the quietest. Check out Palit/Msi cards or Sapphire Nitro (but this cards have got melting thermal pads, so be aware). One more thing worth mentioning - more fan doesn't mean quieter operation, look at Strix version. It has worse temps and produces louder noise because 3 fans creates more turbulence.

Push harder on mem OC. My rig is stable with +700mhz and 75% power limit.
