is Zpool rates working fine ?
I'm getting weird rates for past hour
Are these possible
Code:
   Type: NVIDIA

Miner           Algorithm            Speed      BTC/Day BTC/GH/Day Pool
-----           ---------            -----      ------- ---------- ----
ccminerAlexis78 Quark          177.64 MH/s      0.32611    1.83582 Zpool-
CcminerTpruvot  Quark          123.07 MH/s      0.22593    1.83582 Zpool-
CcminerTpruvot  Qubit           84.02 MH/s      0.17421    2.07345 Zpool-

CcminerTpruvot  Skunk          150.73 MH/s      0.00237    0.01573 Zpool-

0.3 bitcoin a day with 6x1070 Huh

That'd be nice! Something must be up with your setup? Here's my current top for 7x1070:

Code:
Miner           Algorithm           Speed BTC/Day BTC/GH/Day Pool
-----           ---------           ----- ------- ---------- ----
CcminerSp-mod   Skein           3.39 GH/s 0.00407    0.00120 Zpool-
CcminerTpruvot  Bitcore       104.48 MH/s 0.00341    0.03265 Zpool-
ccminerAlexis78 MyriadGroestl 438.59 MH/s 0.00324    0.00739 Zpool-

blake2s, skein,lbry...

Simple to do on the FPGA

A blake2s variant asic (siacoin) has already been launched.

Ah that's right. It'll be interesting to see how Obelisk goes. Guess some will still be put off by no resale once the next gen of ASIC comes out and if they can deliver the specced performance and on time.

Fun times.

I recommend trying a powerlimit of 68 when dual mining with a 1050ti.

Big thank's fullzero for your work. Smiley

What powerlimit do you recomending with a 1060 and 1070?

Respect fullzero work and grown by yourself ? Google is your friend
" Hi i am so lazy i cant do a single research by my self, i have to ask."

DO THINK BY YOURSELF A LITTLE MAYBE ? Lazy ass

Calm down dude. You were asking the same a couple of months ago! As was I.

How about something less direct but still a little condescending like: All cards are different. I recommend you try different power limits, record the results and figure it out for your own setup?
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: August 16, 2017, 11:09:54 AM
Most farm owners have 1060 and 1070 cards. The 1080 and 1080ti series are to expensive, and the most profitable algos on the 1080's will soon have ASIC's.

Reeeeallllly… any hints on what these algos might be?

They look sweet :-) I'm interested in the config, is that a server PSU with breakout above, motherboard on the right and acrylic on the top and sides to channel airflow?

Yup, that's the basic layout - I put the SSD on the top also, so I can put a full-size board on the right side... DPS2000-BB with Optimizer breakout, 2x 254MM fans, and acrylic on all sides except the front and back - so the air is channeled through.  I tried closing the front around the fans, but it actually made airflow worse as it would tend to pocket hot air in the front...  If you search around, I think I put up some thermal images from different configuration I tried.

Cool thanks. I'm moving my rigs from a spare room into the garage soon so noise won't be as much of a concern. I think your config will be my new template  Cheesy High power ATX PSUs with lots of PCIE sockets have become hard to source lately and the server options make much more sense. I guess you can safely run a couple of risers per PCIE socket with a splitter?

We use a splitter to run both the GPU and Riser off the same PCIE cable from the server PSU and it works very well. If you have a high power GPU, like a GTX 1080 Ti or an older AMD GPU (or the new Vega I suppose) make sure you are using 16 AWG (or thicker) PCIE cables and Splitters both.

I'm running 1070s and 1060s so splitters it is. Now to try and figure out which Aliexpress vendors are honest about wire gauges…

Its extruded aluminum.  Comes in various forms . . . 8020.net or Makerbeam is available on Amazon.

You can also get fully made cases for Spotswood.  http://spotswoodcomputercases.com/wp/

anyone knows what is that metal bar that is used to mount the gpus?

am I right to say the gpus are "clamped" on to that extruded aluminum?

jwarren81 got it right - it's 8020.net extrusion, they're my preferred building material - super easy to reconfigure, and when I originally designed this particular case, I wanted them to be strong and stackable and they're definitely that.  I ended up putting them on 5 shelf bakers racks because it just makes them trivial to pull out and work on when needed.

Spotswood uses another type of extrusion for his cases - I believe it's probably Misumi but I'm not sure.  It's a much lighter/smaller type then I use, but he's also not really designing for the same use case.  I've checked out a couple of his cases, and I think he does a really good job on them, plus he has some custom mods he does in terms of screw holes, etc that I generally am too lazy to do or order.  Wink

As far as the clamping - yes, the GPU's are all clamped into position - no major reason for this other than I wanted them rock solid so we could easily grab a unit and move it between locations, or even ship it fully built if needed.  You can drop them (and I have), and really they're virtually indestructible.   I sold the ones I had in my prototyping mine to another forum member, and the airflow from them as so good, he put his open air frames on the exhaust side of my frames, and it stopped them from overheating - pretty cool.  Wink

I also have a 7 card design (although I only built one), and I was thinking about making a 12 or 14 card version that would have the same footprint, but haven't gotten around to changing things yet.  Smiley  For the most part I prefer the 6 card systems, but a 12 card box would be pretty awesome.

291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: August 13, 2017, 02:51:59 PM
Guys, how's better to mine sigt? Directly on wallet or being paid on btc via zpool?

You'd need a sizeable chunk of hashrate to make solo mining worthwhile on SIGT right now. Although difficulty does fluctuate a lot so maybe I'm wrong.

I have moved on to BTX...

@jimmykl - at 700-800w they are just humming.. but those small fans will scream when you hit 1000w.

Thanks @citronick, I might get one as a test since decently priced higher power PSUs are out of stock in my region at the moment

Hi Phil,

Wondering how loud those server PSUs are? Are they on full tilt all the time or do they throttle down if they're at lower loads?
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1060 vs 1070 mining rig on: August 13, 2017, 12:23:56 PM
I would go for the 1070 rig. When ETH disables POW mining, the 1060's card architecture will not allow you to mine certain algorithms which the 1070 can do.

Its future proof and you will spend less on electricity and other computer parts.

Which algorithms does that apply to? I know 3GB 1060s won't be able to mine any DAG which tops 3GB but afaik there's nothing about the 1060's card architecture which will stops it mining anything a 1070 can...

Claymore's Ethereum Miner Crack charges v7.5

ETH redirects developers to charge gadgets that are perfectly compatible with all Claymore kernel mining software.
Claymore's Ethereum Mining NoDevFee v7.5
…blah blah

You could at least have the courtesy to start your own thread. That way when people discover reduced performance or embedded malware or that you're diverting the shares to yourself then they will have somewhere to complain.

Ok so I made it to page 30 something before deciding to post!

So I've currently got 2 rigs that have been running smoothly.
With that being said I've decided to play around and tweak the memorie settings.
This is where I am hitting a wall.
When I set the memory OC say 900/950 then when I check on it in the Nvidia Xserver it shows the clocks at level 2 at 8600-8700 and does not vary much from there.

U have to be root do "su" and prompt "miner1" as password

nvidia-settings -q /GPUCurrentClockFreqsString

Give u real specs Wink, u can specify by

nvidia-settings -q [gpu:0]/GPUCurrentClockFreqsString

Change 0 value by the GPU u want to ask.

Ok so I forgot to mention I am 100% noob!
What do you mean by root?

So I opened a new terminal.
When I type SU into the terminal is doesn't do anything.

Root? You should really read this: http://www.linfo.org/root.html But the TLDR; is Linux systems have multiple users. You are logging in with a regular user account which cannot run all commands or access all parts of the OS. Usually this is a good thing because it makes it harder to break things. But sometimes you need to change to a higher level user, and root is the highest, and the su command does this. Once you've done what you need to as root you should logout of the root account with: exit

The terminal (command line) might be case sensitive so try su and see if that works.

bah, no support. no use.

So you expect the dev to never take a break from work and be available 24/7 to support a product they provide free for the community?
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEMOSMINER multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner on: August 03, 2017, 01:35:38 PM
There is predictive work involved, sure. But face reality: if a multi-algo-switching miner cannot outperform mining a single coin in 66% of market conditions, it has no reason to be.
Where does this strange 66% come from? Is your take away, there are 3 possible outcomes (rise, fall and stay the same) and they are all equally probable? That's quite wrong and it also doesn't consider what are the possible losses and gains and how much they impact your profits.
I think you are obviously ignoring other effects impacting the profitability of mining. It's not only the price at the exchange. There are things like drops in difficulty which make mining at least short term more profitable.
Of course I'm simplifying the probabilities. But I was hoping you'd get the bulk of the message:

Difficulty arb doesn't guarantee outperformance when you factor in market prices and coin maturing latency. As a matter of fact, when markets go downwards or sideways -ceteris paribus- you loose.

It's not a scientific approach, only an empirical one. I did experience the same back in 2014 when I was chasing profitability with my rigs.

I guess with some wrangling you could grab historical data from an API, look at a longer timeframe and apply weighting to favour stable or coins which are trending up for a set period. But it wouldn't be simple and would add a lot more moving parts for the dev.

I doubt anything can fully replace having the time to do background research then double-check the switcher results yourself and choose to override the results if the charts aren't looking good
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.8 (Windows/Linux) on: August 03, 2017, 01:14:24 PM
Guys, why all my cards(470,480,570) lost in hashrate about 10% ? I think it began slowing few month ago. There some problems with dag file or it's same as with old cards(7950) ? Is it possible to get prewious speeds?

Read. Yes it is most likely the DAG slowdown if you haven't changed anything else in that time. According to those in the know it will be fixed by a driver update in the not too distant future.

300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEMOSMINER multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner on: August 03, 2017, 11:04:15 AM
Hi I've been using Nemosminer for a few weeks now and I am really liking it.

I was hoping that you would be open to suggestions of how to perhaps improve it.

The miner switches algos very often but by the time those rewards mature and make it through the exchange the momentary increase in estimated BTC/day that made the miner switch has long past and you get very little of those rewards.

Could it be possible to have a variable in the start bat that would set how often the miner checks profitability and how often it switches algos?
Ideally I'd like to be able to set it to check every few minutes but to only switch every hour based on what on average was most profitable during the past hour.  I think that working on those longer term averages will give a better chance of getting a more stable return by the time the rewards clear the exchange.

So to sum up:
NemosMiner should switch only every hour, and should switch to what was most profitable on average for the past hour.

no... im no going to make it work off hour averages or 24hour averages   its works off the realtime stats...

i recommend letting benchmark complete, then edit start.bat and change (-Interval 90   to  - Interval 300)  thats how i get the best results out of it...
Basing a mining decision on past performance is indeed not the way to go at all. You need to exploit current low diff. There is a clear problem however with the fact that coins need time to mature and more time again to be exchanged, so prices will usually have moved massively (against us, mostly) and closed that arbitrage window.

Yesterday I ran Nemosminer for 36 hours with payout in DGB. I monitore the last 24. My rig got approx 500 coins paid out. That's unfortunately not much. I switched to mining DGB only for 24 hours and already know it's going to turn out better.

As much as it annoys me, the problem with the switching software is that if coins that are mined move sideways or downwards, you lose.

In order for an auto-switching software to outperform in crap markets, it needs to be smarter, i.e. anticipating market moves (technical analysis, trend recognition etc) in order to find a way to alleviate the delay caused by maturing and exchanging the coins.

And then apply the same knowledge to predicting the weather…
