I don’t believe in such miners. When you are constantly switching and finish to mine first coin, the best is already second one. Using this method, you will always catch up the departing train. I think that it is better to mine one good coin until the price rises up and then sell it.

I believe in them. They definitely exist.

Which eth miner is everyone having the best success with? Claymore 11.8 seems to be very flaky...

Anything but… I'm using PhoenixMiner atm

I don't feel so bad that I just today got around to trying out the ethlargement pill on two very different 1080s and all I can see is, "holy frijoles!" On a 2+ year old EVGA Founders Edition, Ethash went from a pathetic 21 MH/s to 30.5 MH/s and power consumption dropped about 40W. Next I tried it on a much newer Asus RoG Strix 1080 mining CryptoNight (not ideal, I know) and hashrate went from about 540 H/s to about 630 H/s.

However, trying to increase the memory clock rate by +100 caused the FE card to crash so hard I had to hit the reset button. So, be very, very careful with the overclocks while on the pill.

Well, if you don't mess with mem. clock rate too much, and instead bump up the TDP slightly to the 70+ range, on 1080 Ti's pretty easy to get over 50 MH/s on Eth with minimal fuss.

Haven't had any bad crashes using it yet, but I stopped adjusting settings once I got to 53-55 MH/s on Eth.

And yes, I actually donated -- sounds like very few did.

Hey another donator! Grin I think there were about 6 others…

I did not even try  the eth- enlargement pill from ogoditisagirl.

Yeah it's the business. I found with 1080tis I was previously overclocking mem +400 that +200 was enough to get mid-50MH/s.

I added your hashrates to the wiki btw https://github.com/OhGodACompany/OhGodAnETHlargementPill/wiki/Hashrate-Results

My asus turbo 1080ti does not respond well to the pill. Will it work if i flash the bios on the card?

Generally speaking you cannot modify the bios on Nvidia GPUs. Don't mess with it unless you want to brick your video card.  As far as it not working with the pill you will need to provide some more information for anyone to diagnose the problem.... Wink

That card has had mixed results reported for some reason. Someone found it worked best with a negative memory 'overclock'! I'd recommend trying all sorts of timings, even random ones, and see how it goes.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DIY FPGA Mining rig for any algorithm with fast ROI on: June 19, 2018, 12:25:57 PM
Hello, Guys.

Our company named "Coloco Group" and we are in FPGA-mining for a several years. There are some photos of our hardware. It's based on Xilinx ML605 PCB.
This PCB was replicated by our engineers.

I can confirm that dev-kits discussed here (VCU1525, etc.) is a very high-cost solution. Because it was designed only for development purposes. This PCB have a great number of unused elements and many electronic components are very expensive (TI power modules, branded (SAMSUNG, TDK, PANASONIC) passive components (resistors, ferrites, capacitors, etc.), therefore it have a bad ROI, and it does not suitable for mining tasks.

We created a design and ready to manufacture a new version of FPGA-mining device. It will be a Plug-n-Play device, with integrated hashing firmware and control unit with ethernet-port and web-interface. All Boards in one metal box with cooling fans. No additional PC or other equipment needed. We forecast a 2x more powerful hashrate than at VCU1525, and a half total price at the same time!

We will represent our product ASAP, also with a Keccak bitstream for testing, and unlike an OP with a complete mining software for real MaxCoin network.

If anyone has a Verilog/VHDL-editions of any mining-algorithm please contact me via PM or mdc@coloco.biz. We can discuss a dev fee for integration of your algorithm implementation to our board.

Awesome.  So manufactures playing same game with FPGA.  Fist batch is outrageous at 4K per card.  Now here comes the next guy. Hey I can make for 2x less.  Then the race to the bottom begins all over again.  Those of you thinking playing cat and mouse with algos think that will somehow make this more decentralized is yet another pipe dream. Or PR stunt.  Plus with such low amounts of these boards again how does this amount to decentralization or just more of the rich getting richer.  Low man once again builds up another system for the rich to take over once the leg work is done.  Typical capitalist thinking.  Ugh!

BR

Rinse and repeat. Fight the man, earn the <whatever>, become the man. Live, die. Zzz

Huge post!
So, any bitstreams free (with fees, it's clear) released for Avnet ku040?

Nope

I'm looking at converting a few rigs from USB/nvOC to SSD/Windows.

What's the cheapest way of achieving this? $40 120GB SSD? will it run on 60-64GB SSD?
Do I need a particular version of Windows to get 7-8 GPU (nvidia) working? or just Windows 10 patched up to date?

I'd recommend 120GB to be safe. I tried saving a few bucks on smaller SSDs but when I upgraded some rigs to cards with more ram windows needed more pagefile so I ended up upgrading the SSDs anyway.

Win 10 is good with 7-8 GPU out of the box. Try and lockdown updates so you can choose when/if to update rather than waking up and finding everything offline.

- ETHlargement tool --> supposed to boosts ETH mining

Just run it, doesn't need to be built into miner
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DIY FPGA Mining rig for any algorithm with fast ROI on: June 02, 2018, 09:17:07 AM
Do you guys have any assurance that this is legit fpga? Is there already a proof? (I cant read 50+ pages)

You *can* read 50+ pages but you *won't*. So the answers are: no assurance, no proof. Otherwise read this (and more), find other places people are talking about this and judge for yourself. Or watch and wait.

what is this?

Shows up on safari and on chrome

I am used to https

not H-BIT

It's Slovenian, which fits since NiceHash is based in Slovenia.... but I'm not very confident in it being safe since Nicehash hasn't had that show up before on their website (at least not that I have noticed).

It's still HTTPS their organisation name is showing that because they are using an extended validation HTTPS certificate https://superuser.com/questions/565422/why-do-some-websites-show-the-company-name-next-to-the-url

Browsers have started showing this info to try and stop phishing sites using HTTPS certificates which are signed by a completely unrelated organisation.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEMOSMINER multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner on: May 17, 2018, 11:00:38 PM
Quick question,

I have been running 5 cards, and today added a sixth.  I reset benchmarks and am in the process of re-running them.  The issue is in the miner windows its only using 5 cards.  I see in the main window its using the command -d 0,1,2,3,4 (so only 5 cards).  Is this normal?  I used the detect GPUs and it pulls all six cards.  Its showing 6 active but only 5 are being used in the miner window.

Any ideas?

FWIW these are my usual troubleshooting steps:

1. Quit Nemos
2. Delete the miners folder
3. Restart the machine
4. Run Nemos
5. Detect cards
6. Save config
7. Start mining

It's a bit of a hassle but that should definitely get it going.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DIY FPGA Mining rig for any algorithm with fast ROI on: May 17, 2018, 03:35:18 AM
Anyway, i read all the topic and i'm still very confused, and i'm not the one.

I think the short story is that you're supposed to shell out big bucks for hardware some anonymous programmer you've never met is going to maybe produce code for sometime that may or may not bring a ROI but they'll get their 4% whatever.

And if you think old asics are just space heaters, this hardware won't even keep your basement warm.

If you think that is the short story then you are just as confused as the guy you are replying to.

Re: your short story. I have shelled out big bucks for GPUs to run miners written by anonymous programmers I've never met either. How is that different?

Ok, this particular anonymous programmer has no public track record, yet. But neither did Claymore et al at some stage.

While it's winter where I am and I appreciate the heat I would far prefer to be able to run more miners on the same circuit and dig a heater out of storage if that's what it takes.

I've read through the thread (though I admit not every bit of it) and I'm very surprised to see nobody has been concerned about whether this executable does any funky things like ever connect to the Internet at any point, read any files off disk, etc? Has anyone monitored it (long enough) for any of those things?

Looks nice, but all of a sudden someone anonymous just deciding to help everyone by providing a closed source executable should normally raise just a healthy dose of suspicion.

You really did skim read it in that case. A shitton of people shared your concerns. In fact there were so many negative, sceptical reactions that OhGodACompany have chosen to make any future versions devfee rather than free. (Thanks for that, you know who you are)

I'd advise watching this interview with @OhGodAGirl https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLTRYp_kCYg and this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuBX2gEthVU

My TLDW; if the devs wanted to fuck you over why would they clearly identify themselves, openly interact with the community, and  invite security vetting? There would be much easier (and more rewarding) ways to completely destroy their professional reputations.

Thanks for those links. She seems cool. I read the first 3 pages of posts of this thread (no concerns expressed there) and skim-read the rest.

So what's the dev fee for the -r2 version tha is now available?

No worries, some of that 'shit-ton' may have been from reddit, youtube and github…

No dev fee on the current version. But they have said new versions (hopefully for all nvidia cards) will have a dev fee. OhGodACompany are flat out finishing a miner (due May 25) so it could possibly be integrated into that.

And helicopter freebies don’t work, as someone infinitely smarter once told me. ETHlargement proved that. People only trust what they pay for.

It seems the most effective/least problematic means of ensuring you and the other ETHlargement team members get paid for your work is to incorporate the pill into the mining program itself (either a miner of your own design or else license / revenue share with someone else).

Yep I think @OhGodACompany are hard at work on OhGodAminer(?) May 25th has been mentioned. I'm hoping it will include some form of prescription for all dosable nvidia cards. Or maybe an FPGA card with the option of nfsw graphics on the fan shroud or a small fresco of Vitalik Buterin behind illuminated doors. And RGB lighting.

Hello fellow hardened hashers…

Just a heads up that the hashrates I've spotted in this thread and on github are viewable in a table at https://github.com/OhGodACompany/OhGodAnETHlargementPill/wiki/Hashrate-Results

At this stage it's just a paste of what was in the post/issue, loosely grouped by card type, so the details and formatting are variable.

It's a wiki so feel free to add your own there, or if the markdown table formatting isn't your thing, post it here and I'll add it.
