In preparation for the update and changeover, we'll be asking all exchanges to disable withdrawals and deposits until the update is released and they've had a chance to update their exchange wallets.
Here is our timeline:
1. Exchanges will be placed in maintenance mode, trading should continue with no issues but withdrawals and deposits will be disabled.
2. The reward reduction changeover will be occuring at 172800 (a little under 6 hours from the time of posting this).
Then one of two things will happen:
3a. Something breaks: We will patch and release the 1.3 update within 12-24 hours.
3b. Everything changes over just fine: We will release the 1.3 update within 12-24 hours.
4. Once the new release is published, everyone will be requested to update their wallets, pools, exchanges, and masternodes accordingly.
5. We will give the network approximately 24 hours after release to propagate the majority to the new version.
6. Once everything looks good and everybody is updated, we'll open up the exchanges and continue business as normal.

because i saw it with my own head an exchange doing something like that.
for example SONO project,they're updating their wallet a while ago and because of that the exchange needed to update it too.
but when that time comes Yobit did not update their wallet even though they asked a money for it and received it.
many people suffered because of it,so that was why i asked this question.

Yobit is a scam exchange. Most of their wallets don't work. Only the very well known coins do. They never delist anything, even though their wallets don't work. Just look at all their coins with 0 volume and check their deposit/withdraw. They are all on "maintenance". Some have been so for years We submitted a free listing request to them in the early days after our launch. Shortly thereafter I contacted them and formally requested that they never list our coin. They either never checked their email and saw my request, or they listened and never responded. Either way works for us. |

transition will happens approximately june 9/10 and after that you will release the wallet for this one,right ?
so it is safe for us buying it on Cryptopia(for example) and hold it in there ?
i saw many project failed to upgrade their wallet on exchange after transition happened,it's because the exchanger did not update it or ignored it.
because of that many people could not send off their coin.
can we send it off if cryptopia does not upgrade the wallet ? because based on your statement it's require to upgrade the wallet.
We've already spoken to all known exchanges and informed them that after block 172800 (about 4 days from now), we'll be releasing the new wallet update. From that time, the exchanges will be required to put us into maintenance mode and update their wallets. If all goes well, nobody should be down for more than a day at the most. I don't see why it wouldn't be safe to buy on Cryptopia for the time being though I usually don't suggest anyone hold coin on exchanges for any reason. It's best to keep your coins in your local wallet where they're completely in your control. |

Update
As we get closer to the update, we wanted to give everyone a sense for what is going to be happening over the next few weeks. On block 172800, we will have our quarterly reward decrease. While the best we can do is approximate the date this will happen, it is set to occur 8.37 days from the time of this post, approximately June 9th/10th. We plan on releasing the new wallet update shortly after this occurs.
Once released, everyone will be required to update their wallets as well as their masternodes to the latest version. We will be updating our script so that masternode operators can login to their VPS and copy/paste a single command to update their node. We will then be immediately contacting exchanges and pool operators to update their wallets as well. Should anybody ignore the update, know that your wallet will simply just stop working as we pass over into PoS, so please follow directions.
We’ve tested the PoS changeover over half a dozen times and made a number of improvements to the process to make it as painless and bug free as possible. If all goes well, we should pass over into PoS on block 182700 with no issues. If an issue does arise, we may need to institute a slight rollback along with a new update. Hopefully this won’t be required, it is more of a last resort. Thank you to everyone that has been supporting us so far.
Once we pass over into PoS and do not need to keep a watchful eye out for nicehash attacks on our network, we’ll really be able to ramp up development on the project in the areas we want to improve and work on without having to concern ourselves with network maintenance as much.

We also feel the same way about the "One Click Masternode Setup" or "Masternode Setup Services" based solely on the fact that while they may not be directly able to access your collateral, they can turn your node off and affect your earning capabilities at any point. This in essence, could easily be used to cheat their users as well as manipulating the masternode reward system should they have enough people using their service.
That's fair. Although I would (unfortunately) think many users might feel less concerned about these 'one-click' services, where they can't access your collateral, since the risk isn't there in the same way for services where coins actually need to be sent. Also, many people just sit on their coins anyway, so having them be essentially 'staking' through a shared masternode might sound like a good idea to many, particularly if the returns are higher than actual staking. The issue of 'manipulating the masternode reward system' becomes less of a concern as soon as you take away much of the individual user's risk (because their collateral is 'safe') and add more money to the equation. Perhaps if users understood the ramifications of shared one-click masternodes on the entire bulwark system they may be less inclined to go down this path. It seems to have worked out just fine so far. We've made our masternode script about as easy as it can be. Login as root to VPS, paste command we provide, let the script do the work for you. Easier to just provide detailed documentation and good work than opening our community up to potential scams. |

The Bulwark team does not support or endorse any shared masternode or staking groups. They pose too large of a risk to the userbase for us to ever recommend anyone take part in them.
Anyone thinking of shared masternode services should understand that they are essentially forfeiting any 'right' to 'their' coins. You are sending your coins to a third party, who promises to use your coins and others to run a masternode, but with no recourse if something goes wrong. Now some of these services may be more reputable than others, but you are wearing 100 percent of the risk and sharing in any gain. Up to you, but with the bulwark team's warning as well just think twice before hitting send. Are there any other POS/MN without POW out there?
Since MN will compete with staking directly, a very large number of coins will be locked on MN instead of staking, unlike pure POS coins where all the (hodled) coins would be staking.
It just occurred to me that this combination might be dangerous for double spending attacks as there will be periods where the staking coins will be very low in number.
I might be paranoid but has anyone else considered this?
the see saw mechanism is supposed to help out with this. When the amount of coins staking is low, the portion the staking gets from the block reward increases. I believe PIVX is a POS/MN coin, now. Correct. The seesaw mechanism increases block reward share for PoS as locked supply increases. PIVX is one of the more prominent MN/PoS projects out there and this system has worked very well for them. |

this coin is badass, as is the dev team i have many bwk MN's running and it's one of the easiest to setup and smoothest running, wallet is tiptop, no freezing/crashing or anything! Thanks for the kind words. We definitely strive to make our setup scripts as user friendly and simple as they can be. i hope bwk can get on trex or binance.  All in due time. If you're not an ICO paying for a listing while having no auditable code, you need to be able to show novel features and longevity before they'll consider you. As such, we're focusing more on continuing to develop and build out the project and will consider pursuing larger exchange listings in the future. We'd much rather only have to apply once and know without a doubt that we'll be accepted than divert time from developing to chasing down exchange listings. |

And once you do that, you might as well just get a zip of the appdata\bulwark folder as backup just in case
Backing up your wallet.dat and private keys should certainly go without saying I'd hope. Of course, you mentioned that already in the previous post. And they are also inside the appdata folder anyway. I find it much easier to store the full appdata folder as an easy way to restore a wallet to full functionality in no time. Provided the blockchain data is not huge of course my appdata/roaming/bulwark folder is empty (I made it show hidden in properties). No clue where it's getting the walet.dat from and where to locate the blockchain info etc to delete it so it can rescan it properly. I just can't seem to work out where it's storing all the data. I unzipped onto the desktop and the folder for BWK wallet is on there still but it doesn't contain any walet.dat files and things so I can remove the corrupted files. *Nevermind, I found it... It was on my desktop lol. I thought it was the zip file but apparently not. I should probably declutter it... Saved a copy of it and deleted all except the wallet.dat. I'll let you know if it works in the morning, its syncing and downloading the blockchain atm. You should be good to go. For future reference, if you set your data directory somewhere other than the default (appdata/roaming), you can usually figure out where it's located by opening the wallet and going to Tools > Wallet Configuration File and it'll open it from where everything is located. |
