1942  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 05, 2021, 12:58:21 PM
Guys, I would like to ask you a question!

With Cristiano Ronaldo moving to Manchester United, do you believe he will be close to retirement? Is this plausible?
Because, I believe that the team of his heart can be Porto or United, will Cristiano be able to retire in one of these teams? And he's already 36 years old.
1943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 05, 2021, 12:52:03 PM
So LaMarcus Aldridge come back from retirement and signed a one year deal with Nets again. Since this is a hot topic I changed poll, do you think he will be successful or not? Is it a wise decision to return to NBA? He looks healthy now and he is not that old. It was diagnosed as Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome but his medical results are clean. If he feels good why wouldn't he play for one more year? I hope he will be successful, Nets build a great team for this season. It would be excited to see LA in the courts again.
Honestly, I found about this event a short time ago.

What good news, Aldridge is a good player and was a featured player in the Spurs.
I'm cheering for him, I hope the things get better for him as he can still be a key player for the team he will play.

As he walked away from the court in April (if I'm not mistaken), he will have to work hard if he gets to the level he was at before.
1944  Economy / Economics / Re: Bullish or nuts? Fidelity predicts $100M bitcoin in 2035 on: September 04, 2021, 05:03:56 PM
Look, I confess this is a high price, maybe stratospheric and very optimistic.

Well, I don't know, but I believe for the BTC value reach $100M until 2035, I think the current economy needs to collapse and have a worldwide accession to Bitcoin.

I performed some calculations and so I think it's unlikely (in my humble opinion)

If we look at the current BTC circulation of approximately 18,800,000 units of BTC and apply the value of $100M per unit, your marketcap will be approximately almost $2 quadrillion.
This value is around 1,997 times greater than the current marketcap of Bitcoin (~ $941,800,517,584) and approximately 827 times greater than the current marketcap of all cryptoactives (~ $2,274,493,567,936)
And that's one of the reasons I think Bitcoin's value is unlikely to reach until 2035.

In any case, this is a throwaway prediction IMO.  They're speculating on bitcoin's price 14 years from now, and nobody is going to remember their prediction that long into the future unless someone goes digging for it.  My guess is that there's an ulterior motive behind their statement, since it seems incredibly bullish to say the least.  They're probably trying to give bitcoin some hype for their personal gain directly or for their customers.  And yeah, I'm being very cynical but that's what I think.
What @The Pharmacist said has a lot of nexus, and I also agree with him, they are probably wanting to "inflate" the value with these rumors to have some kind of personal advantage.

ps: these numbers are not entirely accurate and were taken from the coinmarketcap website.
I made these calculations to get a sense of these numbers

1946  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I get merit as a newbie? on: September 03, 2021, 03:43:12 PM
Well, i think i get it but still have one doubt!
Merit can only be send right?
I mean they're no system (if your activity reach 100 or 1000 plus you'll Automatically receive merit)

Note: To be honest (before i found this Forum) the hole time i thought i'll Automatically receive merit if my activity goes higher.
Yes, what the user @DdmrDdmr said is very relevant  Smiley

Well, just to reiterate
Merit = you can get
sMerit = you can send

For every 2 merits received, you receive 1 sMerit.
This type of process was implemented on the forum, because the users do not cheat exchanging merits/smerits each others

Another detail I would like to share is, in this forum, there are merit source users, they are one of the main influencing factors of merits here on the forum, as they distribute newly minted merits.

In this topic, @theymos explains how you can become a merit source  Smiley
If you want to be a merit source:

 1. Be a somewhat established member.
 2. Collect TEN posts written in the last couple of months by other people that have not received nearly enough merit for how good they are, and post quotes for them all in a new Meta thread. The point of this is to demonstrate your ability to give out merit usefully.
 3. We will take a look at your history and maybe make you a source.

I am especially eager to have merit sources in sub-communities such as the local sections.
1947  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I get merit as a newbie? on: September 03, 2021, 06:35:18 AM
Hello Cleft, welcome to BitcoinTalk forum  Smiley

What is merit and how can I get it?
Briefly explained, merit is something like Facebook's "Like" button.
But there is a difference, you can't send "merit" all the time, it wouldn't make sense to have user rankings on this forum.
Every 2 merits received, you earn 1 sMerit, which gives you the right to send it to a determined user, but most of the time people send merit when a user makes an interesting post/topic!

What's the main porpuse of the forum and how can it be achieved?
Basically this is no secret :p

I suggest you read the forum rules, try to understand how BitcoinTalk works and get a systemic view of how it works.

• Share your knowledge with everyone
• Create quality topics that can help others members
• Participate in interesting debates
• Be curious
• Participate, be an interactive member, talk with others, help others users

ps: don't be discouraged, in the past I was like you, newbie and didn't have much knowledge about this forum.
Day after day I participated in debates, conversations, etc, and today I am Sr. Member!  Cheesy
if I did it, you can do it as well
Work hard and trust in yourself! Smiley

Good luck

1948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why doesn't bitcoin go up higher percentages like altcoins? on: September 03, 2021, 06:02:22 AM
Well, I would like to share my knowledge on this subject with you Smiley
Indeed, Bitcoin is mostly less than altcoin and I will tell you why!

Altcoins are more volatile than Bitcoin because some investors like to speculate on altcoins.

• It is easier for whales to "manipulate" the market because the marketcap of altcoins are so smaller compared to Bitcoin (of course what I said is relative, not all altcoins necessarily behave like this way.

• FOMO of investors, because they see altcoin values skyrocket in a short time, and they don't want to be left out, so they buy a certain altcoin blindly to keep up with that valuation.

• Another example, it is easier for an altcoin to rise 25% in the last 24 hours than for Bitcoin to rise 25% in the same period. This discrepancy is related to value/marketcap.

• I'll give you an example that fits perfectly with the examples I said above.
In this year, January/2021, DOGE was worth ~$0.01 and it reached its ATH in May of this year, of approximately $0.71 (appreciation of ~7,000%) while Bitcoin in that same period, appreciated "only" 113%
Another interesting example that also illustrates this, is the Shiba Inu (SHIB), had a monstrous appreciation in that short space of time.

1949  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: CAMPANHAS DE ASSINATURAS ATUALIZADAS on: September 03, 2021, 05:38:24 AM

1950  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Carteira Electrum - Como cancelar uma transação on: September 01, 2021, 06:42:42 PM

Ahhh, ia me esquecendo, parabéns pelo tópico joker!  Wink Smiley

Roll Eyes

1956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker casino but need KYC, is this really necessary? on: August 30, 2021, 09:59:28 PM
Well, I believe this judgment can be a little subjective and relative for some poker players.
I believe that some platforms these days still ask (obligation) to perform KYC, but I don't see great reasons for doing this, because as already commented by other users, I believe that gambling activities should not be taken so seriously, compared to other platforms that need the use of KYC.
1957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 30, 2021, 09:57:53 PM
Cleveland had Lebron James, Irving, Love, and Thompson, these are the key to the success of the team and they won a championship together. When Irving left the team, Lebron also did the same so it really makes a superteam suddenly a struggling team, and until now they have not recovered yet. I don't know their future plan, but they should rebuild the name by getting a star player like Lebron James to gain the support of the fans again.

Last season they were at the number 13 ranking with only 22 (W) and 50 (L)... we don't see that when Bron was still with the team.
https://www.nba.com/standings

And I don't think this is true.

Cleveland Cavaliers are steadily improving, building team on right path -- even LeBron James sees it

Yes I remember very well, that was the team when TT and Jr Smith helped the Cavs lol  Roll Eyes Grin

Yes, I don't know, I believe LeBron left the Cavs because he was practically carrying the team and so he went to the Lakers, several Cleveland fans were angry with him.

I don't doubt that, a few years from now, when Bronny James is drafted for the NBA, I will have no doubts that he can go to the Cavs, and for LeBron James to finish his career, he'll come back to the Cavs maybe to play 1 or 2 seasons together with your son (I believe that kind of thing never happened in the NBA "father and son play together on the same team")

I'm honestly rooting for the Cavs to recover and improve their team, at least to make it to the playoffs

Well, it's been a while since I've been gambling.
But I would like to share the websites I've been using lately.
I was using Nitrogensports, I never had any problems with them, but unfortunately they got some scam accusations.
The others sites I'm following are: bitsler and sportsbet (which I believe is known to most users here)
1960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 30, 2021, 09:38:56 PM
Cleveland has always become a bad team everytime Lebron left the team, they were not able to prepare this scenario. I think they should get a real superstar like invest what the Nets have done last season to eventually be in the playoffs again. They were only a little better when Irving took over, but it's still not enough, they need to be a playoff contender and have to bring a proven NBA star player, not the one that is prone to injury and is aging.
Well remembered, when LeBron left the Cavs in 2010, Irving was drafted, brought some hope to Cleveland, after LeBron James second exit in 2018 (I think), the team level dropped dramatically and Cleveland guided to bring in followed by Collin Sexton (he's a good player and has a bright future), but unfortunately the Cavaliers aren't a competitive playoff team these days.

Well, Lebron is 36, Melo is 37, Gasol is 36, Ariza is 35, Westbrook is 32, Rondo is 35 years old, Howard is 35 years old. This is the main core of Lakers and they are all quite old, old as in the age some players even retired back in the day and I understand that today's technology allows players to train better and eat better to last a little longer but I doubt that everyone in this team could stay healthy, we are going to see a bunch of injuries.

AD is just 28, but he is also known for injuries as well so I am not too hopeful about him neither. When you look at the roster it looks like they are filled with stars, with 100% health and 100% given to the game I do not think that there is any team that even gets close to Lakers with this roster. However that 100% health is a very very risky thing and I am pretty sure it will not happen.
You're right, the Lakers' top players are over 30 years old.
But LeBron James despite his age, he's still playing VERY well, I even think that's insane as LJ's performance isn't decreasing (not drastically), he can still score well, get lots of rebounds and get many assists and he will complete 37 years in this year. This is insane!!
About Melo, I believe that as he will play with several players who are his friends, this will stimulate him and have chances for him to improve his performance (of course not like in his prime).
I still think Gasol could be a good reserve AD and Westbrook is still playing well (he still has his explosion and speed that are his hallmarks) and Rondo could be another player to help with the Lakers rotation.
By the way, in this team, LeBron James can play easily SG, SF and PF without any problem!
