Uhh, considering the quality of posts on this forum, I wouldn't be surprised if most people were K-8.
LOL, no doubt.  That's been my impression right from my start here.

~snip
Now the voting results show that every second or third participant has a master's or doctoral degree Smiley
So many educated people will not find in one place.
We'll have to open Bitcointalk Academy of Sciences

Rofl. The vote fraud rate is pretty high. Maybe I should have made it a requirement to take a picture of your degree with a piece of paper with your username over it xD

I figured I'd target education, because the average user on this forum seems woefully under-educated.

I think language barriers, youngsters trying to make a quick buck, and those acting ignorant to suit their agendas are to blame for this perception.

I think there are plenty of professional trolls on this forum. I think there are also under-educated people participating in signature bounties and such. So, yeah, agreed.

LOL, no doubt.  That's been my impression right from my start here.

This topic might be more appropriate in Off-Topic or something, even though it does kinda-sorta have to do with bitcointalk.  Isn't this the kind of thing they talk about over there?  What's your favorite color and the like?

I wish I'd studied other things in college (like computer science) and wish I'd completed the other degree I was working on until late last decade, but other than that I'm satisfied with my education.  Cost me a lot of money, but it was fun and pretty useful overall.  I'm done with school now, however.  Studying science was fascinating but stressful when you're trying to maintain good grades--and there is still plenty to keep up with in my field, so it isn't as though I've stopped learning.

Most communities have general surveys, e.g.:
https://insights.stackoverflow.com/survey/2018

I figured I'd target education, because the average user on this forum seems woefully under-educated.

So much cool shit in other fields. Sometimes I wish I didn't take the "Network Technology" / "Infosec" path and took the computer science path instead.

It's terrible that people inherit money. It's far better that presidents like Clinton and Obama steal it from the country.

Please note - The personal opinion of Jet Cash is the opposite of the above statement.

Kek. Presidents stealing from the country? Are you sure you're not confusing Obama/Clinton with TRUMP?

Literally being sued over stealing  from the people it in New York. Obama was never sued like this. Nor was Clinton.

---

In reality, the scumbag lied to everyone constantly about his wealth. The scumbag refused to pay taxes, collaborated with a hostile foreign state, etc... pretty much if any non-wealthy, non-trust-fund American citizens were charged with similar crimes, they'd be put to death.

---

Projection seems to be your strong suit, doesn't it?

"MY GUY'S INNOCENT! LOOK AT THESE OTHER GULITY GUYS INSTEAD!!!!" - Jet Cash

"But they're innocent. Trump's the gulity" - Bluefirecorp

"NURRRR! OBAMACUCK/CROOKED CLINTON IS GUILTY!!!!!#i#!i!#i!i# NO PROOF OTHER THAN MY WORD!" - Jet Cash

Do you like to determine the average temperature of patients in the hospital?
You probably are very bored and have nothing to do.
Maybe even ask about wages or who has what kind of car.

Uhh, considering the quality of posts on this forum, I wouldn't be surprised if most people were K-8.

Considering the majority of the users are not from the USA and have substantially different qualification systems. Perhaps you need to research it a bit better:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academic_degree

If you look at that link, most nations have similar university schemes. Sure, the standard education path varies.

Technically, we could highlight all the differences between quality of education; ie highschool in Ohio isn't exactly the same level of education as highschool in New York.  They're similar, but not perfectly accurate.

If someone has an educational level not listed in the poll, they could easily post it ._.
965  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh on: October 06, 2018, 02:37:21 PM

Let's get serious for a  few minutes here. Let's think of this from a technocrat's stance. Where do liberal law professionals stand on this issue? Should he be appointed, what does the public think.

Last count was 2200 voting "absolutely not".

--

Like actually use that same logic with TPPA and Economics: http://ccsi.columbia.edu/2016/10/03/220-law-and-economics-professors-sign-letter-opposing-isds-in-the-tpp/

--

220 vs 2200? that's an insane amount of technocratic leaders weighing in on the issue.
1 - FIFY

2 - Why do you think anyone would care what a bunch of law professors think?

1: "yes, let's label every single one of these 2200 individuals as "liberals, not a single conservative among the bunch" - BULLSHIT STATEMENT

2: If you're not going to pay attention to industry, you're going to have a bad time.

---

What qualifications to you have to judge law? None. What qualification do the general public have? None. What do these 2200 law professionals have in common? Oh, just the underlying education that let's them know about law.

It's pretty bad when industry overwhelmingly opposes something like this.

I can't believe a possible rapist will become supreme justice. It is scary as hell.

Fun fact: You are a possible rapist.

Bill Cosby was also a possible rapist for many years before he was a convicted rapist.

Playing with words is fun if you're purposely being decisive in the argument here.

In reality, there's testimony against him. The investigation into that testimony was fairly limited and therefore found no evidence. However, it's absolutely known that he's a liar, by hearsay (and absolutely refusal to take sworn testimony).

Wow, this whole time I thought I was responding to a very vague, general, and practically universally applicable designation, effectively making it senseless, but apparently I am "playing with words". Thanks for educating me. BTW the word is divisive, unless you are telling me I have resolved this conflict.

Ouch, more word games. Whoops, used decisive instead of divisive.

If either side wins big, there will be accusations of foreign interference. (And indeed, if any foreign power if capable of interfering with the election, now would be a great time, since it'd create maximal chaos.)

When Obama ran for POTUS he received 92M in undocumented foreign contributions, but nobody investigated that or even seemed to care.

I think the Democratic Party is heavily influenced by foreign interests, down to and including it's basic platform. If you think about it, some of the matters that they seem "anti-American" on, that explains it.

Fuck off with your troll or present actual evidence.

https://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/summary.php?cycle=2012&cid=N00009638

---

Unlike the corrupt, crooked, GOP, Obama didn't receive money from foreign entities.

Hell, the Jill Stein's more dirty than Obama.

My desired result is for the Democrats to win the house by 1 seat or for there to be a dead tie, and for the Republicans to keep the Senate by as much as possible. That should ensure that nothing gets done, which is the best thing for the government to do. (I will get a certain sense of satisfaction if the Republicans win overwhelmingly, since I really dislike the Democrats, but the Republicans will also do plenty of harm if given the opportunity.)

My predicted result is that the Republicans will only barely retain the Senate and will lose the House by a few dozen seats. I think that both sides will be disappointed at their performance, but it will be a moderate blue wave. I sense that most people are only slightly enthusiastic about the economy, and are worried about future tariffs and especially the future of healthcare.

If either side wins big, there will be accusations of foreign interference. (And indeed, if any foreign power if capable of interfering with the election, now would be a great time, since it'd create maximal chaos.)

Gridlock + GOP looting coffers = dead economy or fascist rising. It's almost like a foreign entity wants gridlock.
968  Other / Meta / Levels on education on this forum? on: October 06, 2018, 02:12:44 PM
Just scoping out the average education of BTCT users.

Edit: Whoa, more professional degrees that anything else. Considering this isn't the average, I'd consider voting fraud possible. Hopefully, these fraudulent voters don't overwhelm the legitmite voters.

Pretty much if you weren't issued that fancy piece of paper, you don't have that level of education. So, if you're still a student, you should select the current level of knowledge you've obtained.

Edit:

People without a formal education, can you post why you've chosen not to go down the educational path?
969  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the difference between education & school? Only intelligent minds knows on: October 06, 2018, 02:10:30 PM
In this thread, OP describes all school as "K12" because that's all he's ever experienced.

If you actually move onto university, you see that education comes from school.

This is how the senate investigation was ran, this is despicable. Our president is a fraud, plain and simple.

Link not very impressive. Poorly researched.

Roerbacker suspect of colluding with Russia?

Really?

Are you fucking retarded? This is coming from the REPRESENTATIVE ON THE SENATE COMMITTEE.

Jesus fucking christ. Literally, one of the members of a committee meant to investigate this fraud points out the lead investigator buried literally everything (because PARTY before COUNTRY).

Yet "poorly researched". Fuck off with your lame brain logic you fucking troll.

Nunes for noose. Fucking betraying our nation.

Those attempting to control fake news ARE the fake news providers. The point is that they just want the monopoly.  Wink

Every human has the capacity to discern fake from the truth by themselves...

"China exerts academic pressure"

No shit sherlock. Let's put some obvious statements with other statements.

Turns out when you have 4x the population you finally start putting out 1x the academic research ._.

China won't invade our borders, and we won't invade their borders. I'm sure they're spying for unique intellectual property while we're just buying all the property rights outright.

Unfortunately, this is becoming increasingly untrue as venture capital, major business, and institutional investment continues to infiltrate crypto. I do believe that back in 2014-2015, this concept of a universal digital economy was a major strength of cryptocurrency. Community participation was focused on giveaways, tipping, and microtasks. Anyone active on the forums could earn $100+ a month for their signature which, for individuals in much of the third and developing world, represents earnings far above their real world monthly wages. Nobody really had any money back then, which made the space much more cooperative and wholesome.

This is far from the case today. Even changes to forum rules and algorithms have made tipping, giveaways, and microtasks increasingly inaccessible or even obsolete for the majority. New members have to upgrade through a rigorous merit process which unfairly inhibits those with English as a second language. There is no tipping on Reddit any more. You don't get a few $ worth of crypto for testing a gambling website or installing a wallet. It's just not the same.

The primary reason I was so drawn to crypto in 2013 was my ability to get so much out of the space simply for contributing my time and effort. I was a 16 year old high school student when I began freelance writing for crypto news sites. Now that I have veteran experience, I still find ample opportunities, but this is no longer the case for newcomers. Many of the core ideals through which crypto was founded upon have completely been erased from the space, and it's quite sad, to say the least.

Pretty sure first language speakers of English get the most merit.

I thought this forum was originally founded for bitcoin and intelligent chat (for the most part). Like blockchain didn't really exist.

The only thing that really drew me to this forum was all the developers were here in 2010ish. Bitcoin allowed me to exchange compute for $$$ directly, which as a person interested in uses for computer hardware while he was asleep, it was perfect.

---

It's nice to know that it's an international community, but that was known from the start. (Think about the supposed location of the creator) Now I didn't know this was a micro-job site, which kinda explains the advertising. I figured it was just a "libertarian" forum.

However, to me, it's just another community, and I was hoping to step away from the hivemind that is reddit and rejoin the "forum" world.

---

Now, the only way I know your income is by you advertising your income. If you don't want me to point out that's a tiny amount of money compared to what I spent on my last meal, you probably shouldn't have told me about your tiny bit of money. ._.

You could just phrase it "I invested 3% of my net worth into this" or whatever. That seems fair, right?

980  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Albert Einstein Letter Calling God a “Product of Human Weakness” is Up for Sale on: October 05, 2018, 04:41:49 PM
I don't want to derail this thread too much but it's clear that highly intelligent individuals know that socialism is a superior system to capitalism.  Capitalism takes the excess wealth that is created by workers and gives it to the owners who do nothing.  Capitalism is self destructive and we are already seeing the effects of it.

The problem, nearly a hundred years ago, was logistics of resource distribution. The average human didn't have instantaneous communication.

We had no way to monitor resources to get a real time accurate inventory for centralized pooling of resources to distribute.

Simply put; socialism back then would have slowed down progress in many areas.

Overall, Einstein was absolutely brilliant, and I agree with him that socialism is the best form of industry.
