Bitember forked again?

Yeah - for sure.  These pools never learn LOL.  That is 75% of the hashrate easy 51% attack.

I cannot stress how important it is to monitor hashrate if your a pool operator.

What's appening? Last block 10405 March 15, 2014, 16:04:34 ? more than one our ago

ok, now we are at block 10406, Time: March 15, 2014, 17:37:15.
93 minutes between block 10405 and 10406, too much. Difficulty too high?

Diff readjusts every block not sure if that's the problem but that long time between blocks happens a few times a day earlier ones were only like 20 mins not this long though.

The stuck block was showing diff of 14 though... not that crazy.

Thing is though that is the difficulty of that block, if say 500mH dropped off after the last mined block, that could happen
603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT Official Information Thread on: March 15, 2014, 05:54:10 PM
Look at the hashrate now... Huge drop.  Had me sweatin.

We have to look at the difficulty (meaning anyone who has expertise, and me) it has a max adjustment of 200% every 4 hours - may need to tweak that.

604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT Official Information Thread on: March 15, 2014, 05:09:05 PM
Keep mining, there 1 of 2 possibilities here.  1) hashrate spiked causing difficulty to rise to high, and will be adjusted next block 2) someone is spamming the chain with transactions.  I see tons of tx messages in my log files

There are no forks etc, no errors, so these are likely the only possibilities.

And this is what happens when KGW is implemented at launch, instead of delayed by a few days...  Angry
there is no KGW here
605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT Official Information Thread on: March 15, 2014, 05:08:48 PM
plus remember there is only supposed to be 720 blocks per day...  Hashrate and difficulty rose very very fast.  Just keep mining, nothing looks be be broken.  No one to my knowledge has had the block orphan or give an error, which would indicate an issue.

wow, it looks like the coin got some attention netmhashps : 1119.72800204.

I will open re-open registrations on the pool when the nethashps rises further.

Wow thats insane how high its risen... thankfully it adjusts per block LOL

i can not Withdrawals my flt form the pool :http://pool.webcoin.us/flt

You should not mine there. It's a very crappy pool.

This was the only stable pool at the begining and I get quite a lot of amount of FLT, but admin corrupt wallet after update, so all coins are lost.
oh,my god ,how can i Contact the pool

Don't believe that contacting pool will help, because official explanation is that wallet is corrupted and there is no backup. It also may be that admin just stole all coins and lie about all thing, but I have luck that left only 1000 coins at their pool.
shit, i have 200k flt at their pool.

That's shitty =$ I had 22k still to withdraw but atleast i got the majority of it out the day before.

Yeah, that is one shit pool, I still "have" coins there, but I posted an IRC log a couple days ago. Coins are gone, they clearly didn't have wallet backups. Please spread the word on how bad they are... plus they tried to bash FLT as a coin going "nowhere" lol.....

I for a time thought he just kept the wallet to himself LOL but then why bash the coin?  But when he said "why would I back up the wallet, its the server's wallet" I knew clearly he hasn't managed servers of any kind for a living LOL.  I get anxiety when backups aren't working

Proove of Block ftw Smiley

Nice!

What stops someone from setting up two wallets and just bouncing a transaction back and forth to create infinite money? With his 4k he can now break that down into 8 tx's of 500, increasing his chances by 8x.

You can't create infinite money, its not easy to find a match, not possible way to ever manipulate a match, and sometimes of there is a match, but the block or preceding block is POS, there is no reward.

If the blockchain was being spammed with people just trying to manipulate the system, its very simple to change the parameters with an mandatory update that drops prior versions to increase the difficulty.

Matter of fact this is one of the ideas I am kicking around.   I can also add in routines that check x previous blocks for address matches in each subsequent block eliminating the possibility.  But at the present rate I see these rewards happening, there is no need.

kidcoin if POB rewards were being hit too often, and people were able to make extra coins simply from constantly sending transactions, would you be able to easily adjust how often POB hits?
Yeah, its very very easy to change the difficulty...

haha i saw that first trade and wondered who it was. congrats on breaking ground for the fluttercoin community!
The first person that bought FLT should get a reward LOL

Hello Fluttercoin community,

Posting here today to see who would like to join the FLC marketing/ social media team. I've already begun to set up the twitter and reddit accounts and want to possibly start on a website very soon. Tried to contact the dev directly to set this up but he clearly doesn't understand the importance of a solid marketing effort... Oh well he will learn fast. Anyways, if you are interested please post here with what you would like your role to be and we will organize from there.

I am willing to help out on website development. (Sent you a PM). But I don't want this to turn into some dramatic thing. I think we really need the support of the main dev if this is going to be successful.

Already being worked on as we speak, feel free to handle social media, etc.  I will provide any support needed.

I also have secured http://facebook.com/fluttercoin http://www.reddit.com/r/fluttercoin/ http://twitter.com/fluttercoins (because someone took fluttercoin above LOL thankfully thought someone else took it until I saw the logo), and a website being put together for free (work in progress need to work on content)

Working on OSX Wallet, tipbot, more advanced block explorer etc.  Any expertise you have in this area would be appreciated.

Many people are contacting me looking basically to make money.  Some offered to do things for free, but most want $$$.  Not sure if they assume I'm rich (I wish)?

***One thing that we will need is language translations for the website once the content is finalized.

But I need you help in all of this, we need also to make sure that for example while people have access to a facebook account, twitter, reddit etc, that its tied to an email that they do not control so we can reset the password if they decide to hijack it.

Any of the above that you con contribute to please lets start getting this stuff rolling.  I will grant access to any of the above accounts etc, thats why I scooped them up (I can't run social media LOL)

While I released the coin, this isn't "my coin", this definitely needs to be a consensus based effort (like the network)

If we need to form some sort of team etc.  It would also be nice to get a few more devs.

Kidcoin/Dev we really will need really active involvement from you for this coin to be a success

Active involvement?  LOL I'm on here all the time, just working on a bunch of stuff for the coin...

Will somebody please send me some coins to play with?  FK7AkEoLQvcj6DZ7axmeTKyKLcuXFt5Eto

I still can't understand how the "proof of block" works.

Sent you 501 FLC to play with Smiley What exactly about PoB did you not understand? Essentially it randomly awards 2x coins for those who conduct transactions of 500+ FLC. This creates a ripple effect in the economy and promotes coin usage.

Thanks a lot, mate. So what is the exact chance of the 2x happening is not known?

From my understandings: It is not a set 2x value. It is not used with a multiplier of the transaction. if you send 501coins you can get 1000 , 2000, 999, 3000, it is dependend on the last block reward, and it is rare and based on luck, if you send 1000 transactions of 501 flutters back and forth from 2 wallets the chances of getting a POB are still very low, also it doesn`t happen only when you send coin, also when you receive, for example you are getting nonstop payouts from a pool but you didnt send any coins, you still have a chance to catch the POB generated just because of receiving coins, cannot find an exploit until now...will see what the future brings, and what the magical crypto fairy will bring to this coin:)

you are correct...

is the network stuck on block 9066? i wish i better understood how coins work
yep, hashrate dropped off for Huh? reason, which leaves difficulty too high - but it adjusts per block so it self adjusts
617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT Official Information Thread on: March 13, 2014, 07:55:27 PM
I must be reading the OP wrong, does anyone know what the current block rewards are?

I thought this...

BLOCK REWARDS
Year # MIN MAX
Year 1: 1000 10000*
........
*(prior to block 3263: 500 5000)

...meant that current block rewards are 1000-10000 (since we're past block 3263), but I just hit a block for 938.5 coins.  Am I reading this wrong?

Magical crypto fairy just took the difference between 1000 to 938.5 as a fee, this is the best answer I could find:)
POB/POT block

Aah.... for POB/POT blocks.  This makes more sense but I like the magical crypto fairy explanation better.  Smiley

So what are the block rewards for POW blocks?

between 1 and 10k for the first year - POB/POT blocks split the POW reward.  This you FJ9ihcwZ7Lcf2JuwKZ6cmoUDc3YFYxc9UC ?

between 1000 and 10000 - block traget time is now 2 minutes - was originally 1 minute @ 500 / 5000 - but that speed is not sustainable long term and issues would/could ensue especially when POS kicks in
