121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT NEW Proof Of Transaction PoT v2 Specs Released on: May 05, 2014, 12:56:19 PM

Nice to see a small rally... Lets spark some interest in the coin.  Maybe lets flame eachother and people can talk about it on twitter, check out the thread and invest LOL

TheKidCoin you said you have a job.  You are devoted to the coin but cannot devote 100% of your time to it.  These people turn to you for everything and I can see in some of your responses they get to you.  At least it seems that way.  I propose that we help you.  I'm not sure if these ideas have been proposed because I haven't been able to follow the thread all the time so I will post my thoughts.

Instead of a divided community we need to unite.  Let's build more authority for Flutter.  Let's build a Flutter Foundation.  Open and transparent.  The foundation can serve as a base to build up Fluttercoin.  Let the foundation work on brand management, advertising, growth, etc.  Open a public account for donations used for these advancements.  We can hold votes for member seats, seat buy-ins (buy-ins used for advancements), or TheKidCoin can appoint members.  Maybe let the community vote on how to get started.  We need to take the discussion to a Flutter Forum where proper discussions can be made and get away from all this other BS.

The community has http://www.fluttercoinbounty.com/ but it's not on the front page.  I think people have forgotten about it.  They are too worried about price and not worried enough about growing the community.  This should be incorporated into the foundation.

Lets get updates on the multipool.  This should be tied into the foundation.

This coin and community has so much potential.  I've invested nearly 4 btc over the last 2 weeks.  I know that's not much in the scheme of things but I see the potential.  I'm not looking for a 2x-3x return tomorrow.  I want a the long term return and this is something I stand by.  I tell other memebers in the Polo trollbox the same thing.  Yes I am the same Kuriso that is on Polo.  I'm so tired of these scamming shitcoins that are here today and gone tomorrow.  Coins that only steal bitcoins from the unsuspecting community.  Make Fluttercoin be different.  Let's take this coin to the next stage.

Foundation is the way to go...

And now its even less, 312.50 per block, to be honest, your coin halved way to quickly and you lost all your miners to other coins it seems.
I am very glad we lost all our miners.  Let them mine other coins.  That was our goal
I'm not saying it was your goal, I'm just stating why people are possibly leaving.
I love this coin as much as the next person, or I wouldn't have a pool open for it. Tongue
I know LOL I'm just saying...  BTW did you guys mine a PoT block or did you guys win a PoT block (where you say the 312.50)

Your pool has been here since the beginning.  Hopefully the price will rebound and miners will return.  There is very little for them to dump especially if the price were to rise (in relation to the # of coins in circulation)

What we really need to get the hype back: updates. Dates, goals, etc.
When is the real release for the Fluttercoinpool? With all algorithms? I still believe in Flutter (been there since day 1 or so), although i'm at loss atm.
That I'm not sure...  Not my pool.  But I am told they are adding sha256 and x11 soon and working on the front end.

Would like to see it released ASAP

Is there an initiative to get FLT on a payments processing system such as Moolah or coinpayments.net?
Yeah, trying but your at their mercy as to whether they add you, you know what I mean?

The community needs to step up IMHO.  I think I made it clear a few times I am pretty much strapped for time, and I am not going to spend my own $$, go into the poorhouse, all to promote the coin, and make others rich (and myself not so much if I spend all my FLT on promoting).

The community as a whole has pretty much done nothing except cheer or cry about the price - save for a couple of people who have actually done things to better the coin.

You sound pretty dispirited as a developer for this coin, which is leading me to question my investment. If you're not willing to put the time in and serve as a leader of your own creation (look at DRK's dev ffs, the guy is putting hundreds upon hundreds of hours in to perfect his coin), then your coin is not going to make it in this ruthlessly competitive market, sorry. You just can't expect the cryptocommunity to pull all the weight for you. They will find another coin.
Trust me I've put hundreds of hours in, and I continue to.  I have an actual job to.  Should I quit and devote my time 100% to making you rich?  Do you think I'm going to use my money to make you rich?  Sorry, not happening buddy.

its not 312.50... its 625

312.50 was a PoT block

Maybe the problem is that we don't have a fancy logo, a techie name, and don't have a mascot.

It surprises me that such things are not yet discussed, therefore I am asking the dev (team) what are the long term plans for Fluttercoin?
Is your goal to become a well known coin, which can be used worldwide or just a coin where you can earn money by mining and trading.

It is clear that there is a decent dev on board, but what are future plans?
Very important (IMHO) for future investors and bag holders

We have very little so say in if the coin will be known worldwide.  This isn't intended to be a trade only coins.

The #1 priority is to try to get a payment processor on board.  Its really astounding to me really that these people pick up clones, but coins like this with innovation and potential they don't touch.  Same with merchants.  Meanwhile clones with a few tweaked parameters are worldwide sensations.

A dev is a dev  - I'm not a brainwasher and/or magician, if I was either, this coin would be worth 100K (and we all would be happy)

Will payment processors pick up FLT?  Will merchants accept FLT?  Those things are out of my control.

Tnx for honest answer, doesn't make it better but that seems to be facts.

True - I think these merchants etc will take notice soon though - I mean they almost have to because the coin will take off with just the right push now since mining production is so low relative to volume.

thekidcoin, you should make a quote in the top part of your first post in the topic with the new specs of the new POT system  Smiley And showing us some examples to help people to understand what's the change.

As example, if you send 10 000 coins to someone, how much will you be rewarded and what's the chance to be rewarded too.

I'm just thinking it would be helpful to gain more attention from this important upgrade  Wink

If you read the specs and the white paper, it tells you... 5% of the PoW reward.  The amount you send doesn't matter.

This is not something you should try to do though, it's just something that may happen.  You have a greater chance if you sending coins to a single address, and if you send a ton of transactions, or to a ton of addresses, you have no chance pretty much.  The harder you try to win, the harder it is to win.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT NEW Proof Of Transaction PoT Rewards For Spending on: May 04, 2014, 01:03:50 PM
Proof Of Transaction v2 specs released.  New Binaries to be released tomorrow:

http://www.fluttercoin.us/fltbeta2/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/proof-of-transaction-v2-r.pdf

Can't believe after almost 2 pages of arguing no one has mentioned this.

From .5% chance of a block creating PoT reward to 80%. That is a huge change. Have none of you seen this?

- 8x the output of flutter in rewards from PoT
- added security due to more PoT checkpoints
- 20 FLT set reward rather than half the block reward
- reduced required transaction amount from 500 FLT to 1

Previously the reward would have ended up minuscule, while now it is a set rate and has a much better chance of happening. You're all so caught up in everything that has  little relation to the coin itself.

I have read the updated paper and you are right, it does look like good news.  But as far as I understand the current state of affairs the paper is a proposal, not a final spec.  Not aware of the timeline to transition to this, if there is one yet.

But it is good to see some progress toward making PoT more enticing and a more equal partner in the ecosystem, alongside PoS.

It's final... Building binaries now and will release them and the code today.  As of now, will take effect at block 55K (that may go up to 56k though)

Is this coin ever going to have any real world value like are any merchants going to accept it for goods and services?  Or is this just a trade coin?
Thats up to the merchants...

ALL:  Big mistake with the toal PoW calculation of coins.  Its actually 10% LESS

Total PoW coins output is actually around 200 million

I am curious about this actually.  So there were originally supposed to be 220 million PoW coins, but now it is 20 million less.  Did something change about the way block rewards are calculated or was this just a math error in adding up all the PoW minted coins?

Shouldn't the sudden announcement of 10% less coin should have created about a 10% jump in value, through basic math?  Are those 20 million FLT now gone from the coinbase altogether or will they be present in the form of additional PoS stake return or something?

Bad math... Was calculating from the wrong block.

The coins will never be mined.  No one knows what PoS minting will bring.

C'mon there is really no need to know thekidcoin's identity.

Not saying we have to know, just pointing out that the usual reason given for anonymity - fear of personal safety - is totally overblown in classic ITG style.

It's usually other reasons (maybe you work at a bank or payment processor or live in a jurisdiction that wouldn't approve of your crypto side projects, or want to avoid having to pay taxes on it if it succeeds. etc.).

I live in Chicago, IL - I would never work with any exchange, payment processor, etc - I would help for sure - but thats the extent of it

Taxes I don't mind paying, better than jail.

Mikey:

Privacy (from Latin: privatus "separated from the rest, deprived of something, esp. office, participation in the government", from privo "to deprive") is the ability of an individual or group to seclude themselves or information about themselves and thereby express themselves selectively. The boundaries and content of what is considered private differ among cultures and individuals, but share common themes. When something is private to a person, it usually means there is something to them inherently special or sensitive. The domain of privacy partially overlaps security, including for instance the concepts of appropriate use, as well as protection of information. Privacy may also take the form of bodily integrity.

Nonetheless, I will never use my real name...

I matter very little in this coin, and that's the way it should be.
