More than one location would be great (i.e New Hampshire, Nevada, Colorado) Colorado should be a top priority, imo.
Yes Colorado could be good. A lot of empty land not crowded you can grow your own pot and houses could be built form earth in the desert like "Earth ships". What are the weather conditions there during the year?!

Dovoljan ti je 4MB adsl. pametnije ti je napravit load balancing nego trosit lovu na tu glupost. Kako nema prikladno hlađenje? Zar ne vidiš na slici da su špine i cijevi za vodu postavljene

Afaik there'll be a very very early version of the client being delivered along with the alpha. Up until now the devs have been working hard on the infrastructure, peer trust, POI and so on which is of course also still ongoing. Have some patience people - Haste makes waste I have patience, I don't know for others, but I'm curious

I voted for a web interface but I think it should be something in between. I' m in favor for web GUI as it can be extended easelly using CSS JS and HTML and additional modules(pages) with different functionality can be added in a fast way.
Also the design can be stiled with css to resemble a QT or native look and feel. There is no need for a user to use a browser to open the web gui as it can be implemented in a native or java HTML component.

I wonder how the coding is going.
As of tonight, we have 4062 lines of production code, 3640 lines of test code, and 301 test cases. Overall, I think things are progressing well. We should be on track for an alpha (with a slightly reduced feature set) sometime next month. Nice. Is the NEM client also being developed along with the NEM core? Will there be an alpha version of NEM client also released in about a month?

Who are not satisfied and used escrow service, get the money back when you want. Correct? So better wait and see what will happen later on and then decide.
any time Interesting. How about if I wanted to sell my early-bird investment? Would you be willing to change ownership in your spreadsheet? Any offers on a 0.25 BTC investment? You can be refund by Anon136 If Anon136 agrees I'm willing to take your place in the spreadsheet regarding the early bird stage. Post here your transaction id so that I can check your investment and post your btc address so that i can send you the amount that equals your investment. Thanks.

Emunie is also promising instant transactions. does anyone know how they plan to achieve this? I plan to start paying attention to them soon, they are supposed to launch their 1st official product this month. I am seriously considering jumping to them depending on what I find there.
Hello They will not launch the product this month, they will maybe next month. Open beta testing is still going on. If you want you can test the latest open beta software by yourself. http://beta.emunie.com/For more info you can check the forum: http://forum.emunie.com

Hello. It seems that a p2p exchange using some concepts exposed in this this thread has been already implemented. http://www.coinffeine.com/

If NEM is going to make a wallet. Please make one good wallet instead of 5-6 wallets that confuses people which one to download like NXT.
Also make it one click installable.
I see this as a problem with NXT. There are so much websites about NXT and everyone promotes different clients.
It shows 1 thing; the community likes NXT and is working hard, that's why there are multiple wallets available. It's fun. But I think we should use 1 easy to use client and promote that from the start. Then we can develop it to the wishes of the users.
I have had many complaints that people cannot install the client of NXT etc.
I agree that from start there should be one client immediately distributed with NEM but we should not impose any limit to other developers do develop their own NEM clients. I think that client development should start as soon as possible after client technology, features and design (look & feel) are defined. Any one has ideas about the client? How it should look? What features should be included? What technologies(platform) should be used to build it? How should it work with the NEM core (web api or something else)? Can we open some kind of debate (whishes/proposals) list about the client?

Does any of NEM stakeholders want to run an exchange ? (and have some experiences doing so). I know Tristan (Busoni) of Poloniex, is one of our early stakeholder, Gravitons is as well but how about we are making a fresh one ?
+1 for making another exchange I would not limit to one exchange only from beginning as this could result in monopoly and high fees is better to have few exchanges from the start or if this is not the case then it would be better to have one run by the community and not by a single entity because it could jeopardize the NEM widespread adoption.

Thanks. I will add a counter to the page when we have a certain timelines. It would look bad if we over-promise and cannot deliver. You could make a card in our board for the launch timer and add you and me in so I don't forget.
You mean trello board? OK I will add a card there but I'm still not signed there. Do I need to signup first to trello board and then wait for your invitation or do I need to wait for your Invitation first to join trello board at all? I added you in. check your email address for the invitation . I will send you a PM.

Hello. Some people here have spoken about using a counter to promote NEM. I have implemented a counter in javascript that could be added to ournem.com web page when the time comes. I still need to check if it works correctly in different timezones. Here is an example how it looks now on my local computer: I don't know why this image won't show in my post anyway check this link if you are interested to see how it looks. EDIT: I have put the wrong link! Here is the right one https://i.imgur.com/m3T5qfV.jpg?1Enjoy Pretty awesome! have you already spoken to UP to set this counter on homepage? In my opinion we would attract more people with a counter than without one. who is UP? utopianfuture? I think he knows about the counter I have told him that I will make one so he can add it to the homepage when the time comes. Now is still to early to add this to the page as there is no precise development timeline (deadlines). As i see from the posts in this thread the developers are still testing POI algorithms. Is better do some things in advance and be ready when is needed

"simple software for everyone" is better than "Aurora for every Islander" +1 Software that could add value to NEM because can be used with NEM and related to real life problems issues. Building useful services around NEM and on top of NEM and widespread distribution of the coin(platform) will guarantee its success.

does anyone know why the price of protoshares fell so much?
And why the price for Auroracoin raised so much?! Is it even been released? Can it be bought somewhere?!

We are busy writing code. At some point we will make a test system public, I think, but Jaguar will decide that. I think Jaguar will try to give weekly updates on development.
Once code is more stable I think the plan is to put it in our public github repository.
Does it mean that NEM will start with testnet (fake coins) before the official NEM release. If so I think this is a better approach to start with testnet so the community can test the software and the network performance and some bugs and flaws could be removed before the official launch. We could expect that at launch the network will be heavily attacked by DDOS as in the latest few months it happened to to other alt coins as well (NXT , eMunie ) forums, websites, network were attacked around important date announcements.

In my opinion, on one hand, before issuing NEM, the users should be as many as possible. On the other hand, we should have many markets to buy/sell NEMS at the same time when starts transaction.
addition, if we can develop one platform which can exchage NEM with any other coin(not only btc/ltc/doge) ,we can distribute the coin widly.
Also, if we can develop a platform that allows fiat money to be exchanged for NEM, that would allow a lot more people whom are new to cryptocurrency to purchase NEM. Some people don't want to go through the phase of first downloading a wallet, signing up to an exchange/website, purchasing BTC or some other cryptocurrency, then purchasing NEM afterwards. Yes. This is one of the most important aspects to focus on. Other than the development of the coin itself, I can't see anything more key to mass adoption. I'm posting my message again in case someone overlooked: Hello. Anyone who is included or will be included into development of NEM <--> FIAT. exchange should check this interesting thread. Is a project about decentralized BTC <--> FIAT exchange. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=462236.0;topicseenMaybe the ideas exposed there could be helpful for the NEM community and maybe NEM developers can join together with developers of that project to help each other in the exchange development.
