261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: May 15, 2018, 04:33:51 PM
is RX Vega supposed to be 1300 kh/s range in cryptonote heavy?

in regular Cryptonight V7 i get 1800+ as i now swapped to sumokoin and cryptonight heavy im only getting 1200-1300 ,,, trying to keep HBCC activated but not sure if the other gpu's are breaking it or not.

Second big issue is RX580 doing 450-500 H/s  but some with same bios are doing 800 kh/s, the memory allocated to system is around the same for each rig, any ideas? i did increase the virtual memory to 60GB for 6 rx580's that should be enough right?

cn-heavy is lower than cn, but very much depends on the miner

RX580 should be 900+ if not 1k
try SRBminer, on rx480 with Uber3.1 timings I get ~1k in both cn and cn-heavy

and checkout Forager, in my signature, which will benchmark all of them and switch to the most profitable coin Wink

cpuminer-opt-3.8.8.1

API displays hashrate before shares are submitted.

Thank you for this, it is helpful Smiley

In case you plan to implement Large/Huge pages (and I hope you do Wink ),
Verium miner which is based on cpuminer-multi, have implemented it for both Linux and Windows
Assuming code efficiency for Verium is roughly the same, performance improvement is from 35h/s to 48h/s, which is ~37%

Take a look https://github.com/fireworm71/veriumMiner/commit/d02684e361ccf1842402d08fc8cb406fcd3fbb36
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [CPU] JCE Miner Cryptonight/forks, brand new, super fast! on: May 12, 2018, 09:53:09 PM
interestingly, 2 cached threads with double-hash give almost the same performance with almost half the power usage and responsive system, so until I find a better combination, ill stop there )
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [CPU] JCE Miner Cryptonight/forks, brand new, super fast! on: May 12, 2018, 09:11:13 PM
A few things:
Code:
Analyzing Processors topology...
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7600K CPU @ 3.80GHz
Architecture codename: Kentsfield
For some reason a Kaby Lake is detected as Kentsfield
even when using "--archi kabylake"
Not sure if that even matters eventually and only visual, just strange

And just wondering about the automatic logic
On that processor for cn-heavy it allocated 4 threads which give roughly 40+40+8+8 h/s with 2 cached large pages and 2 uncached
Since the processor has 6MB of cache, so I would guess that only 1 would be cached
Or does the "cached" not mean the L3 cache?
And while this gives the highest hashrate, I believe it's less efficient than lowering the number of threads to reduce CPU power consumption

i am wondering why i have 2 instance when i mine with 3 x 570 and 1 x 580. can i put all gpu into one instance or not? if yes, how am i going to do it?

add device group definition to config.ini

You can run DeviceList.bat to generate a string for your pc and modify it to your needs

One group with 4 GPUs will looks like this:

GpuGroups = [{"GroupName":"Ellesmere8","Type":"AMD","Devices":"0,1,2,3","PowerLimits":"0"}]

268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Forager] 1.2 - Multi-Pool profit switching miner (AMD/NVIDIA/CPU) 9/05/18 on: May 10, 2018, 07:52:57 PM
when i tried to mine x16r, i get invaild shares. how do i stop getting it?
The miners used for x16r (also x16s) have benchmarking mode which uses a defined algo order to be able to get stable speed and when it submits shares, it gets invalid shares
After initial benchmarking it should run normally

I don't know why the dev decided the miner will actually submit shares in benchmark mode
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 2.9e: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Windows) on: May 10, 2018, 05:30:15 PM
Is there a chance that 3.0 will have dual mine (preferably keccak/blake2s) ?

I do not understand why many people have the dual mining function waiting for phoenixminer 3.0, it is still possible with calymore dual miner. but what do you shoot with dual mining, costs much more energy and also less hashrate for eth and minimal earnings with the second coin.what do you shoot with this.i personally prefer a miner software that is economical with energy and stable works and high hashrate and more schares eth

Agreed.  I have little experience with mining, but lots tuning PC's with Windows and Ubuntu.  I've tried and tried tweaking the settings on both miners.  With Claymore's dual miner my ETH hashrate drops 10%, and the additional DCR only makes up for a mere fraction of of the loss.  Energy usage is the same regardless of which mining software I use.  So, obviously I'm sticking to phoenix.  Dual mining, at least Claymore's miner, just don't make cent$.

Dual mining is dead. ASICs killed that months ago. Nothing I've seen is profitable dual mining vs solo mining. Not only doesn't it cover the extra power used, it loses money, an increases heat. The dev of Phoenix should have stopped code for dual mining once it became clear it wasn't profitable anymore and focused on a linux version for the larger farms.

Not completely but almost, and highly dependent on your power cost
This includes power usage calculations:

Code:
Algorithm         Coin          Miner                        StatsSpeed PwLim Watt  USD/W mBTC/Day USD/Day Profit/Day PoolFee MinerFee Pool        Loc.

270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: May 10, 2018, 05:44:51 AM
@miningpoolhub
https://miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=api&action=getminingandprofitsstatistics
return incorrect host list for Cryptonight coins
Code:
host_list: "hub.miningpoolhub.com;us-east.hub.miningpoolhub.com;asia.hub.miningpoolhub.com;europe.hub.miningpoolhub.com",
instead of us-east.cryptonight-hub.miningpoolhub.com and hub.miningpoolhub.com is not available on cryptonight ports

https://miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=api&action=getautoswitchingandprofitsstatistics also returns "hub.miningpoolhub.com"

271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Forager 1.1 - Multi-Pool profit switching miner (AMD/NVIDIA/CPU) 6/05/18 on: May 10, 2018, 05:32:16 AM

However, I have noticed that forager will attempt to connect to us-east.hub.miningpoolhub.com:20580 and europe.hub.miningpoolhub.com:20580 and times out on both before connecting to miningpoolhub.  Unsure if this is a problem with miningpoolhub, I was unable to find the relevant code to where this url would be.
Ok, found the issue with mph, they report incorrect Urls on their API since last monero fork
Ill add a fix to the pool

edit: fixed in master branch and reported to MPH

Tried starting it up, it starts mining zcash and never tries anything else, despite being very low in terms of profits.

That is very strange and I would need more if this is indeed happening
Can you provide log output and profits screen?

Hi there,

Is there an argument to specify the number of threads to use? Or is there documentation on available arguments that I didn't find?

"cpuminer -h" will list all options
"cpuminer -t" will set number of threads

277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Forager 1.0 - Multi-Pool profit switching multi-miner (AMD/NVIDIA/CPU) on: May 05, 2018, 09:47:45 AM
Tried out your miner, i like these multiminer things
few issues:
1: http://www.gandalph3000.com/ gets webaccess blocked on my ESET, i dont really wanna whitelist a random site for downloads...
This is official website of Cast XMR miner, which it tries to download. And ESET probably blocking it for distributing "Evil Crypto Miners"
Even if it is moved, there is no guarantee that it will not be blocked sometime again

Quote
2: yuzi-co github mkxminer 310.zip download fails after taking forever to do so (few minutes, time is money Sad ) . deleting the json file for it bypassed this error for me as a workaround for now. all other downloads seem fine. failing to delete the json file resulted in endless download loop tho Sad
This one is the largest miner in my collection, for reason unknown to me the developer made it weight close to 100MB, so depending on your connectivity it might take ages
I will check timeout parameters, perhaps I can solve this

Quote
3: i cant make CPU mining work, even tho i ENABLED it in my config.ini Sad    8700k. tried with option "99" to see if any pools would use it, but nope Sad
This is strange, I'll recheck the logic

anyways, nice tool, hope its OOB usable for me one day Smiley

Thank you, and keep watching, I'm constantly updating Wink
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Forager 1.0 - Multi-Pool profit switching multi-miner (AMD/NVIDIA/CPU) on: May 04, 2018, 09:47:14 PM
Looks nice, are there any of your own fees included in this?
By default it is set to 10 minutes per day, but it can be changed based on your generosity in config.ini Wink

Code:
# Number of minutes to mine as a donation each day (default is 10 mins which is ~0.7%)
Donate = 10

can i use on rx550 ?
can i use without AB ? because AB not works with > 8 GPU
how to integrated with other pools ? (not on list)

regards

Specific miner may or may not support specific card, but Forager doesn't have limitations for specific cards
I tested even Intel integrated GPUs, but disabled it in code due to extreme inefficiency

AB integration is not necessary and is OFF by default
You can run "DeviceList.bat" to see detected devices to verify all your cards are detected

Without AB you will not get exact power consumption readings, but you can edit "Includes\amd-cards-tdp.json" to add estimated TDP of your card to get cost estimations
I will add more cards to the default file based on official TDP numbers

Additional pools can be added in MyPools.ps1 (see existing examples there)
If a pool provides profit estimations, and is large enough, I will consider adding it to Forager

Why there is no one Claymore's miner?

All Claymore miners are already there
ClayCrypto-11.3 (AMD)
ClayDual-11.7 / ClayETH-11.7 (AMD,NVIDIA)
ClayNeoScrypt (AMD)
ClayZEC-12.6 (AMD)
ClayCrypto-4.0 (CPU)

Did Claymore release any other miner that is missing (apart from Claymore XPM)?
Ohhh. Sorry. I just read on 1st post and there is no info about them...
Yeah, I did post only the changes from Megaminer, but in all I have 70+ unique miners.
The chance is if you want it - I probably have it Wink
