301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.4.6 on: April 23, 2018, 08:39:56 AM
I am a greedy ba*tard. Why I cant use this command in .bat file anymore?

It was taken out in the past few versions.. Is 1 minute every couple hours really that bad?
it is not bad. It does not fit my beliefs.
You can ask the priest of your religion to give a blessing for usage of a different miner Wink

CryptoNight-Heavy
Sumokoin (SUMO)
Haven (XHV)
~ 1500 k/h  ((((
2000k/h HuhHuh??
Help
It's CryptoNight-Heavy, hash rate will decrease.

Because of what less?

Cryptonight-Heavy uses more memory and needs to process more data, so it is slower than Cryptonight
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Avermore miner - optimized sgminer (AMD) fork for x16r/x16s/xevan(beta) on: April 22, 2018, 06:59:34 PM
Is it possible to change the difficulty? I've got an AMD card running Avermore, and Nvidia running RavenMiner. Both these cards get the same hashrate, but because of the pool difficulty, my AMD isn't producing shares. RavenMiner let me override the difficulty, and it's sitting where I want it to. Just need that on this end now.

yiimp type pools (like ravenminer.com) support setting difficulty in the password field with "d=xxx" and usually you don't need to set it in the miner

Add API and I am in Smiley

I second that
Need API for monitoring
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New AMD X17 miner VERGE/SHIELD/MLM on: April 19, 2018, 11:50:57 AM
why setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0

and not
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 1

?

This algo doesn't require huge amount of memory. Setting GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR to 1 could potentially hurt performance since memory access would require twice the number of clock cycles.

I also believe it is redundant to set this to 1 with reasonably new drivers.
I'm using GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR=0 for at least half a year and am yet to find a miner/algo that didn't work with that on RX480 in windows 10 (and I believe I have tried almost every miner/algo for AMD available)

Actually it is open source and you could change whatever you don't like and compile it  Smiley And now it easier because you can do it in Visual Studio

Even if only for making it compile in VS, you do deserve credit Smiley

Haven't tested the miner yet, though...

Majority of the alts use
(block_reward * 24 * 60 * 60) / (2^32 * difficulty)

only the factor (32) changes for some

311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMD X16S miner PIGEON/EDEN/TSTCoin +30% compared to Brian's sgminer on: April 16, 2018, 06:02:17 AM
I'll be the first to admit that my original sgminer for x16r / x16s wasn't very well optimized. It was made in a hurry for the RVN AMD miner bounty, so it was rushed.

Anyways, I've finally gotten my hands on a RX580 card and had the time to make optimizations.

Introducing... the Avermore miner.

Not only is the devfee only 1% compared to aerisminer's 2%, it's also faster. Aeris is claiming 5-6.5 MH/s on RX570/580 and 11-12 MH/s on Vega? Well, my miner does 7.2-7.5 MH/s on my stock RX580, and others report 13-14 MH/s on Vega. So, a whole 15-25% faster than aerisminer.

Avermore also works with x16r, x16s, and xevan, and is faster than any current AMD miner out there for all three of these algos.

And the best part? Avermore doesn't blatantly violate the sgminer GPL license. For those of you who are unaware, the GPL license (which sgminer is released under) requires that "programs distributed as pre-compiled binaries be accompanied by a copy of the source code, a written offer to distribute the source code via the same mechanism as the pre-compiled binary, or the written offer to obtain the source code that the user got when they received the pre-compiled binary under the GPL." [source].

Aeris is clearly violating this license, as they clearly admit that it is "based on sgminer-gm-5.5.5". If you have any respect whatsoever for the time and effort developers put into developing the miners that makes GPU mining possible, you should not support Aeris' blatantly illegal ripoff of others' work.

May you please create a thread ?

exactly... i was just about to ask that.

also could you add api support?  i'm not sure if that is my problem or not.  I can run your miner fine by itself, i just can't get it to play nicely with pool/profit hopping software such as megaminer, awesomeminer, mpm or such.  thanks... any assist would be great.  (i'm currently using megaminer which is based off of mpm).

api works fine

How much you earn is your business.
I care about how much I earn.

If giving you 25% fee earns me more money that now - I'll gladly pay

And for those who aren't willing to pay - Silly idealism will not earn more money Wink
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v11.3 on: April 06, 2018, 12:35:16 PM
Doesn't work well with https://sumo.fairpool.xyz. Pool report 5-10 times less hashrate than miner, even with 0% rejected.
perhaps because it doesnt suport cryptonote-heavy?
check the pool page for supported miners
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: April 05, 2018, 07:02:40 PM
Will you be updating to support Cryptonight-Heavy implementation that SumoKoin just implemented in their fork?

I hope it will support the Cryptonight-Heavy implementation.

Hi,

CryptoNight-Heavy is used only by SumoKoin? Or are any other coins using or planning to use Heavy?

Regards,
glph3k

Looks like they are the only ones for now. Possibly some other coins will also join

xmrig devs compiled a list of CN coins that change pow, might be useful to watch: https://github.com/xmrig/xmrig/issues/482

something has changed for Aeon between 11.2 and 11.3

Eth stresses mostly memory

Claymore Neoscrypt is very hard on gpu, or use Clyamore Dual to stress both

Please support Sumo/Heavy algo ASAP.  Stak is so unstable and their config files are a nightmare.

+1 for this. CastXMR is much more useable than XMR-STAK. Insane amount of profitability on the SumoKoin's cryptonight-heavy algorithm as of the past few hours. Seems like it was very effective in killing all those cryptonight ASICs.

i believe its mostly unprepared miners that were killed ))
