Want to send 3.14 bitcoins. If only I had more money Tongue

Woohoo, I'm killing the planet for marginal (if any) contribution in curing mans' diseases so they can live on to consume more energy and create sigpics showing their pollution per day stats. I wonder how many people have died from the added pollution of tens of thousands of computers running at full throttle 24/7. This doesn't even take into account the actual research which could have been done if the electricity bill $ amount had instead gone to a legitimate charity. But that adds meaning to peoples' lives? Well congratulations! (not that I'm trying to justify Bitcoin.... Wink )
The money from donations... would just go to more protein folding experiments anyway. Besides, if you are worried about the environment, you can get solar or wind power.

This is a great idea! It was only a little bit of time before someone made a credit union for Bitcoin...

Good luck to you!

Oh, and I second the SSL requrement - Startcom's interface is a headache sometimes, but it's well worth it - a free SSL cert that works in all modern browsers (except maybe Opera)? Yes please.

Compute my way into heaven by contributing to Folding@Home.

That's true, I wouldn't mind donating it to science. What exactly is going to come of all that folding anyways?
I think they are looking for cures to diseases like Alzheimer's, ALS, and even some cancers. If they make a breakthrough, and I was contributing at the time, personally I'd feel pretty good inside. Thankfully, the difficulty for protein folding won't go up either Cheesy

Good job getting it back up, glad to have it back.

Right now this site uses European BlackJack rules where there is not Five Card Charlie rule. I plan to implement other rules as well, though that may take a bit of time.

Ok, thanks for the response.
Now I won't press hit just for that last 5th card in despiration Tongue
288  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Overclocking a GTX 260 on: May 07, 2011, 06:20:20 PM
Agreed, as far as Nvidia goes and I just tried this, both the Core and Memory clock affect the hashing speed. Both affect the temperature too, but I'm not paying for A/C or electricity.

As for my high temps, I just ordered a new fan, and I actually haven't cleaned my case in a long time, I should probably do that. I will once the new fan comes.

I won't sell my nvidia GPU - simply because it won't get enough now anyway to pay for even half of a good ATI card... though I'm not against saving up a few paychecks to make a dedicated mining rig with a great ATI card and bad (everything else).

Thanks for the tips.

Very small truecrypted file that appears as a corrupt video file and contains my GPG secret keys, TS3 secret keys, and SSH secret keys. I also uploaded it to my VPS and a filehost for redundancy.

Thanks for this, helps me get started.

Oh okay... I see what you mean.

I know that nVidia GPUs arent good for mining, but it's what I've got and I don't pay for power anyway, so its not like I have anything to lose.
I'll try messing with the core clock, thanks!

Just my two cents - it's great, but no five card charlie. Everything else has worked fine so far though!

I really like the design, especially the withdraw/deposit by mail function.

Next payday, I'll probably deposit some. And as others have mentioned, OpenId is a little hard to understand at first... but it's an alright system once you understand.
294  Bitcoin / Mining / Overclocking a GTX 260 on: May 06, 2011, 10:42:48 PM
I know this might be more of a question for a tech forum but here goes anyway.

I only have a GTX 260, and am content mining with it. When I overclock it more, I can definitely squeeze more out than what I'm getting now (memory clock 1.1GHz), but it the temp shoots up so much I'm scared (I try to keep my GPU below 85º). What would you recommend for a better air cooler (I don't want to splurge on water cooling unless absolutely necessary).

Also, I've never increased the voltage to a graphics card before, and am not sure if I want to. Any tips for this?

Thanks
