81  Economy / Economics / Re: Will bitcoin be banned on Philippines? on: May 07, 2018, 01:39:20 PM
EzBreezy, do you know any country where Bitcoin was actually banned?
Do you know any country where a property or means of payment were banned because they were easy to steal?
That is the answer to your question.
I think they should not do that because in the first place it helps those individuals who strive to earn from crypto, in fact there are many people here in the Philippines that are benefited from bitcoin, those unemployed or low rated salary from corporate job is now seeking the good opportunity for crypto investment that bitcoin can give.

Exactly. Look at the South Korean example. And look what was hidden under that famous word BAN there: https://www.ccn.com/south-korea-has-no-choice-but-to-legalize-icos-and-it-may-happen-soon/.
82  Economy / Economics / Re: Taxes and regulations on: May 07, 2018, 01:36:52 PM
It's normal, Governments always wants to get its share. Government as an entity isn't much interested in anything else.
Now, how they spend this depends on:
1. Whether they collect money only to provide for themselves, as in my country, or:
2. They collect the money to provide for the benefit of the society, which should be the purpose of the Government.

In the latter case, I hold nothing against them taxing anything.

About your question - Bitcoin shouldn't be considered a property. But that is only my opinion.
But bitcoin is not a property it is just a currency so we need to consider it as a currency if we change the property of bitcoin for someone's benefit then bitcoin may not last long as it could be.Even if it consider it as a currency still governments will get benefit but still it is hard to categorize and hard to regulate so its still the governments and politicians need to make decisions in this case.

Actually, it's not a currency yet. "Cryptocurrency" is one of the most famous misnomers these days:
Since it is not currency, it needs to be put in some class and most of the governments decided to put it in the "property" class. All I can say for sure is that it can be considered an asset the same way as a stock is. That is why most of the coins out there are actually not the coins but tokens.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the Most Powerful Computer on Earth Hack Bitcoin? on: May 06, 2018, 03:11:07 PM
If you are talking about the majority attack - it is currently impossible, and it will stay that way forever I think.
If you are talking about hacking the SHA-256 algorithm which is the basis of Bitcoin cryptography (and more or less and cryptography these days) then - yes, the moment quantum computing becomes commercial, SHA-256 algorithm will become outdated. However, don't worry:
1. There isn't a real working quantum computer existing anywhere in the world. There are a few quasi-quantum computers, not yet proven to be the real thing (Google labs, Microsoft labs,... and more and more joining the race), since the problem of producing a physical qubit has not yet been solved.
2. SHA-256 algorithm will be replaced with something else long before it becomes obsolete.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on the Bitcoin vs Bitcoin Cash Dilemia on: May 06, 2018, 02:55:09 PM
Bitcoin is pushing hard with SegWit, Lightning network, smart contracts implementation. The community is backing it up 100%
I never saw any purpose in Bitcoin Cash, except speculative. Maybe somebody can try to change my mind?

Been there, done that.... You are right, but that happened a couple of times already. Everybody is making Altcoins, and many already tried to make Bitcoin Silver, Diamond etc....

2. VAR.
This is key. But I think the UEFA is taking the same approach as the EPL, waiting a bit more until the VAR proves that it can be a reliable. Perhaps the UEFA is waiting to see how VAR performs in the World Cup.

Unfortunately, VAR on its own is not the magic key to solving all problems. Yes, we would finally know for sure, and in time to change decisions, if the ball crossed the line or not, but the SERIE A example showed us that the person checking the recording is still very important. Italy has VAR now and Juventus still managed to rob Napoli of the deserved title.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a Ponzi scheme? on: May 04, 2018, 07:11:19 PM
Ponzi scheme has a pyramidal structure and Bitcoin doesn't have one.
Bitcoin has also already proved it isn't a scam.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The New York Times claims Russia plans to dictate Blockchain's future on: May 04, 2018, 07:09:31 PM
I am just curious. Why do you think that other big nation Governments aren't doing exactly the same?
And also, why do you think there is any other purpose for you knowing it then promotion?
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: May 04, 2018, 10:42:24 AM

Saw the kick to his face with the ball and it going in as an own goal yesterday.
It was embarrassing for Milner but got Roma on the scoreboard and got them going. It must of saved many of gamblers who had both sides to score in relief for the first 30 minutes. Grin

There was nothing he could have done and I admire his sense of humor.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: May 04, 2018, 10:41:15 AM
Liverpool, Atletico, and I guess Olympique (haven't been really paying attention to their games) well deserved their entry into the finals. Too bad that Liverpool's victory has been spoiled by bad refereeing.
Real, unfortunately, did not.

It is obvious that football needs:
1. Very clear rules leaving very little room for interpretation.
2. VAR.
3. Cleaning - and I mean bought of money laundering (some of the investors) and corruption (Serie A example being the most recent and evident example, but also Real who was, deliberately or not, awarded a pass against Bayern who was a much better team on the field and did deserve the victory even if their scoring was lousy and Navas was incredible).

93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: May 04, 2018, 10:15:25 AM
Why so much buzz about Croatia? They are a good team... but I can't imagine them winning this year's world cup. They may gave a good performance, like what Iceland did during the 2016 Euro Cup (bating England in PQF).

Croatia is actually 90:10 stronger then Island. Island is a fantastically solid and well-organized team though.

If we don't look at the brackets and take the current form out of the equation, I think this would be the right order:

1. France 1:2
2. Germany 1:2
3. Belgium 1:3
4. Brazil 1:4
5. Spain 1:6
6. Portugal 1:6
7. Argentina 1:8
8. England 1:10
9. Uruguay 1:12
10. Colombia 1:14
11. Croatia 1:15
12. Switzerland 1:20

The raw talent dividend among those teams, especially France at the moment, is incredible.
Then comes the rest of the lot, who can beat each other or any of the top teams, but don't have a real shot at the title.
Possible semi-final surprises could be Egypt, Russia (only because they are the hosts), Nigeria, Poland, Serbia, and Peru, maybe Senegal.

If you look at the form and the brackets, then the situation becomes quite different as there are many possible variants when top 12 teams are playing against each other.

We also have to take into account the possible surprises within groups. It is a question who out of Nigeria, Croatia and Argentina will pass the group. Portugal can easily go back to basics and disappoint. England? Would be far from the first time. Uruguay has hosts and very tricky Egypt to play against. Colombia is everything but stable. Switzerland could play three goalless draws...
Others are pretty confident I think. Spain maybe only one with possible problems - if Portugal beats them, they would have to be at their top against Iran and Morocco, and both of those teams are very solid.

Germany's chances are very dependable on the situation with Manuel Neuer.

I will really miss Chile in this World Cup. Italy and Netherlands are always missed, of course.
94  Economy / Economics / Re: The men behind our future! on: May 04, 2018, 10:04:40 AM

Although as Hydrogen so ruefully pointed out earlier, It gets me every time to imagine how those early innovators would have worked.

I agree it is interesting to think of how people lived and worked in the old times. To me, it is very interesting to imagine how do people live currently in other places than mine.

Would be helpful if you could paste a proof of virus checking below the wallet download links.

Many users seem to be scared download the custom wallet.

Ive been using the wallet for 3 months now and scanned it twice already and my Antivirus is always ON and so far no major issues encounter.

You can safely use the wallet.

I too confirm the wallet is safe.
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: May 03, 2018, 08:36:24 AM

i think you from croatia
because youre prediction croatia above argentina in group D
and youre prediction croatia can get final in world cup 2018

youre expectation about croatia is very high value

Yes, I wrote so. But my predictions are based purely on the base that Argentina is playing so badly that it is a matter of question whether they can get past group at all, so I believe that 1-4 in this group is totally open. If Croatia will be second I don't think they will go past France. And I also really don't think Argentina will be first in it's group. Whether the first will be Croatia or Nigeria, or maybe  Argentina after all, I don't know. But I think that nothing after that is unrealistic. In any case, I had to play with it my way. You can try yours Smiley

Croatia traditionally plays good against Germany, and have already proven to be much better than Portugal 1 on 1 (and now has a much better coach). I even think Croatia is more prone to loose again Peru then Germany or Portugal, really.

I based my predictions on current form, a strength of teams, and traditional playing styles which, when confronted, end in various surprises, to everybody but a trained eye (everybody has a "black cat").

Regarding Argentina, the fact is, if they didn't have Messi I would've totally left them out this time.

After putting up a ticket through the system I finally received the tokens in my ERC20 wallet. Thank you.
I also got this, after two months of waiting, when the price fell 10 times, why do I need tokens now?

Well, if it was a deliberate pump - nothing for, and I agree with you.
If not, then maybe this project still has a future and I will be happy to support it.
In any case, they were free.
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 03, 2018, 08:30:22 AM

Yep, it is very difficult for napoli to accept this kind of circumstance that is only a few steps to the champion and must just disappear. I already know juventus can stay above the standings to become champion.

Yes, there used to be a little thing called justice, what was that again?
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Paper Wallet on: May 03, 2018, 08:29:09 AM

Actually I etched a thick copper plate with the info I need (it is not a paper wallet, but rather a hardware wallet seed words, but the principle is the same and if it were on paper only, it would be equally easy to lose). And I learnt quite a lot in the process so I encourage everybody to do it himself.

See, even Troglodytes can think.  Cheesy Smiley
Sorry Pan T., I had to.  Cool

A very good advice, I hope many people will follow it.
