And we're back!!!

OK, we've been working all night on getting our database server back to normal speed. After having our server crunch through data for 6+ hours, phase 1 of this process has now completed. We're not quite done yet so for now you may notice the following:

- Highest Wins bets tab is showing different data
- Most Unlikely Wins bets tab is showing different data and is not quite complete
- If you're a user who has not logged in a while, the "My Bets" tab may show less than 30 bets; in extreme cases it may even be empty.

Rest assured, we have a copy of all the old data and this data will be preserved, but we need to migrate it to new tables and improve the logic used to lookup this data. The code to do this is almost ready but we have to run a transformation job which (according to our current estimates) will run about 10 - 12 hours. This data migration will happen over the course of the day tomorrow but should not affect site operations.

One thing you should notice is that the time from loading the HTML page to the point where the site is actually operational has decreased significantly; it had degraded to taking between 5-15 seconds; it now loads in about 1 second. Also, some other operations which rely on heavy database queries should be noticeable faster now.

We're sorry for the interruption but the size of our database had made this downtime necessary. The new architecture which is in place now should be scalable enough to handle all traffic for the foreseeable future.

Nice I tried to visit the sit yesterday but got interrupted by a image telling its down and some work is being done. The image shown was funny Tongue
1262  Economy / Lending / Re: Need loan .024 Btc repay .03 on: August 26, 2015, 11:00:50 AM
I can fund this loan too. If you really want this loan. Please submit your account details to any trusted escrow and as soon as I got the confirmation from escrow, I will fund the loan in no time.
why do you have the money to lend out when you were asking for a loan quite recently? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1162155.msg12244553#new

Nice catch, but on the second thought maybe the reason he stated : personal spendings include giving loans to others, as it would give him higher profit in doing so.
1263  Other / Off-topic / Re: if you entered your wallet and you found 50BTC what you will do ? on: August 26, 2015, 10:58:50 AM
That is truly a interesting question. I would not really refund right away to the address which sent me this, because it may also be an exchange's address which a client used to send me. I would simply open up a thread and ask the sender to pop up and provide enough details to convince me, if he is able to do so, I will happily hand over him the amount.
1264  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there any connections between bitcoin price and stock market chaos? on: August 26, 2015, 10:56:03 AM
In my opinion the answer would be no, the price of Bitcoins is mainly affected by the need of the coins and the miners.

1267  Economy / Lending / Re: I need a loan 0.7 bicoins on: August 26, 2015, 10:43:53 AM
Yes, I am offering my websites. Especially one site alone, which has made $64 this month so far and $230 in the last 3 months. I have put lots of money and effort into making this site, so you can be sure I will pay back the loan Smiley

No matter how much money you have put into your site, you must show the lender how will he/she recover money lost in case of default from you.

1272  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you earn money online? on: June 23, 2015, 06:41:24 AM
i earn from reselling digital products and from signature campaigns, however earning from signature campaign is very low for me due to my low rank and less time spend in forum.

Your rates are kinda low when compared to other campaigns, try to increase you rates if you want more users to join your campaign.
your signature design for full member rank can be much better and attractive then current one if you start a signature design contest
1277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it official? on: October 28, 2014, 02:11:06 PM
BTC is the official symbol for Bitcoin.

XBT looks very confusing if used as Bitcoin symbol, looks more like one of the altcoin  Tongue

1280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if someone claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto? on: October 06, 2014, 03:08:53 PM
the real satoshi actually has a bitcoin kill switch, he made it so he could switch it off when he thinks bitcoin has failed.

LOL, there is just key to be able to broadcast message warnings in Satoshi client (Bitcoin-qt) I believe
