101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bubble and Crypto on: September 13, 2019, 06:12:40 PM
The main reason people attach bubble to cryptocurrency is in its use case as they fear government will never approve it over fiat currency because it is hard to control. Also, the fact that it is unregulated means it is currently being used for illegal transactions which further proves to the doubters that crypto will end up being a bubble as government has enough reasons to ban it
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How crypto exchanges secure our funds? on: September 13, 2019, 09:52:19 AM
The project advertises its services. He says that many use their services. Protection is debatable. And it’s best to check the stock exchange before joining it and trading there. Look at the rating of exchanges on CMC and you can choose the one that suits you best. I did not work with this exchange.

He is talking about an exchange like changelly. I do not think Changelly is on the coinmarketcap list of exchanges. Nevertheless, the security seems to be tight as I have never heard any negative news about it except for  the fact that their fees are a bit on the high side. Or perhaps, hackers do not think it will be worth it to breach their systems.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In what aspects do you think financial services like banks could improve more? on: September 13, 2019, 09:15:17 AM
Security breaches is not the problem only for cryptos,in this world every other field also have such risk and also facing it from time to time so we can't simply deny the benefits of cryptos due to the data leaks on the exchanges, but there is no doubt in that it needs to be improved a lot.Decentralized exchanges could be the possible best solution to this and many people are working to bring one.

I tend to agree. First things first, fully decentralized exchanges do not require kyc, so that bottleneck is cleared
Decentralized exchanges are basically impossible to hack or breach. Another important factor to consider.
Both crypto and banks are susceptible to breaches but at least crypto has an option with dex. The big question is can banks fully go into decentralization?
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum SCAM? on: September 13, 2019, 08:32:48 AM
The conspiracy surrounding Ethereum is so much. From Vitalik Buterin being shady to Eth not having a maximum total supply. Ethereum is my favourite coin after Bitcoin and all these scam allegations have been debunked. They are unfounded.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to invest my $1.5K? on: September 12, 2019, 06:50:12 PM
i have got around $1500 to invest in coins which coins do you guys suggest to invest in for quick money ? a year ago I have invested in STRAT and Sia and I lost big amounts and regret investing in those coins.

I'm thinking of investing $1k into BTC as its low risk but I would like to risk the the other $500 with a coin that I can make quick money with it

Sorry about your loss. I really commend your strength to still come back with the interest to invest in crypto after loss. Many people have taken their losses and bid cryptocurrencies good bye. Just know that whatever you buy now is all part of a risk and you should not let it affect you negatively even if it doesn't go well. Buy right and hodl
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: I've taken my eye off bounty hunters comments on: September 12, 2019, 06:33:46 PM
Many bounty hunters are very misleading ,blaming bounty projects for not making any good profits out of them but I've learn to move on without having to look after a bounty hunter or what signature the bounty hunter is wearing ,this year alone i was able to join very good bounty projects because i start believing in myself and not any one else ,I've come to understand that many bounty hunters still live in the past thinking that bounty should remain the same and profitable like in the past ,we have many scam projects ,no doubt but yet many bounty hunters are still promoting them .

I'm going to list few very good projects I've promoted and believe that they are very legit
1) Harmony
2) Veil Project
3) Tecra Coin
4) Miracle telecom project
5) Gowithme   etc

Do you know why all this projects are active and successful? They have real teams ,and their teams are pro with past experience on crypto coins. I earned the tokens through bounties and I'm still confused how bounty hunters blindly join bounty projects that are total waste of time.

Stop putting blames of scam projects ,if all bounty hunters start choosing projects carefully we will leave fake projects in the dust and they will find their way off here.

UPDATE:
After reading several replies to my post some are claiming that harmony haven't distribute bounty tokens yet, you're right but remember that this post is about choosing legit bounty projects ,not getting paid either by getting bounty token locked by team or delay in distribution is another thing ,this is about bounty hunters that promote projects with whacky white paper ,copy paste job ,fake project teams and pump & dump projects.

If you are asked to chose either Harmony or Xsapphire or casicoin which one will it be? Is harmony a scam project ? Of coarse not . Good projects fails too but its better to promote good real project than promoting projects with a single team or projects with stolen identity teams.

If you go through this link you will see how many scam projects are caught on bitcointalk forum every month,  February 2019 over 20 scam projects are caught.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5110020.msg49742941#msg49742941

The scam artists are still out there copying and editing to tender almost good looking project to lure hunters.

Update on this. I think Miracle tele has been added to that infamous scam list despite the token sale. You can research all you want before partaking in bounties but as far as you cannot read the mind of the project owners, then we are all at their mercy and they can do whatever they like. There is no perfect way to scout for good bounties. I have seen projects that look like they would scam, only to end up being the most profitable. No research is perfect my friend. Just keep doing what you do and always hope for the best.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Situation with Bitcoin and Alts on: September 12, 2019, 06:09:22 PM
It seems to be a hard thing to do but cutting losses might be the best move. Most of these altcoins won't see their all time highs again, and worst still, most have their team leaders absconded from the project. If there will ever be an alts season, it will start from the new altcoins of 2019
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping crypto from mass adoption? on: September 11, 2019, 07:20:36 PM
The crypto space is not very noob friendly: bitcoin and blockchain are complex daunting topics; cryptocurrencies themselves are not very user-friendly; and the cryptocurrency space has gathered a bad reputation for being filled with scams. A small mistake sending coins from your wallet can cause you to lose your money and ruin your experience. So, while everyone has heard about blockchain and bitcoin, people are not only unsure how to get started, they are also faced with these high barriers to entry.

TokenTuber’s mission is to lower the barriers to entry to the cryptocurrency space so that mass adoption of cryptocurrencies can be achieved. On TokenTuber you can learn and educate yourself on everything you need within the crypto space. We will hold your hand and guide you on your journey in the crypto world. Not only that, you can also earn your first cryptocurrency and trade it with absolutely no cost.

check this scenario:

Mr A owns a store where he sells groceries. B, is a customer. He comes in and purchases groceries worth $200. B wants to pay in Eth and Mr A agrees and he receives $200 worth of Eth as payment from B. 30 minutes later, that $200 worth of Eth is now valued at $175 based on current exchange pricing. In other words, Mr A, just made a loss in sales. Next time, he won't be too keen on receiving payments in Eth again.

Fix this volatility issue first and watch as adoption grows massively
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will There Really Be An Altcoin Season or Just a plot to Keep us in the Loop on: September 11, 2019, 07:03:46 PM
While our altcoins keep depreciating in value daily as we keep vigil for altseason, bitcoin dominance has crossed 70% and keeps growing in strength. Will there really be an altseason.

Kindly read -
https://medium.com/bull-bitcoin/alt-season-scamming-noobs-since-2013-71bd19410d98

The truth is many people (including so-called "cryptocurrency experts"), are merely speculating based on the boom of altcoins in late 2017. No one knows for sure if we will have another surge of alts season. But we can be hopeful of it since Bitcoin is yet to cross its ATH. When Bitcoin goes above 20k, then we can start to actually see the possibility of another alts season
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Swissborg is a scam? 90percent down from ICO on: September 11, 2019, 12:21:26 PM
In my opinion yes, because so far no Swiss project has ever succeeded the latest is the WPP token which it says will be stable, but look at the price now, far from the word "stable" but it could also happen because some ico at that time started selling tokens as well, many of which experienced a decline but it could have been a scam

WPP must be one of the greatest scams in cryptocurrency investing. They planned on being a stable coin and even lied to their investors that they were planning to list on Binance several months ago. Look at how hard the token has dropped in value today. Over 90% dip. Its amazing because they were showing so much promise initially

112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You think ICO Investing Is Worse Than Online Gambling on: September 07, 2019, 02:54:26 PM
Yeah, ICO investing now is much worse than gambling. On gambling, there is a chance to win, but when you invest in ICOs, you wait..wait..wait, hope and wait...and get your money 1/10 and get angry. Waste of time and patience, hopes are gone.. I would not participate in any IEO other than Binance or kucoin.

You have made a good point. If I wanted to gamble, at least I would do so with the mindset that its a 50/50 chance of me losing my money. But for ICOs, I have it in mind that I am making a calculated risk to invest but it is rather unfortunate that the chances of losing the money with ICOs is 70/30. Then when you factor in all the time wasted, waiting for the coin to list on exchange or to rise in price, you realize it just might not be worth it and gambling might be a better alternative
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: 2017 vs 2019 on: September 07, 2019, 12:35:43 PM
Very interesting comparison that analyzes holding ETH in 2017 vs holding it today... https://cryptotradernews.com/cryptocurrency/hodling-ethereum-2017-vs-2019/

Thoughts? I'm super happy to have swaped all of my ETH for BTC to be honest

You are damn lucky man. Most of my Eth dipped badly when I held at $400+. I saw it all go down to below $200. However, I still believe that Ethereum is a good coin to hold. My opinion might be unpopular but I have a feeling before the end of the year, Eth will rise in price
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BNB the Next Bitcoin? on: September 07, 2019, 12:23:30 PM
There is nothing like the "next bitcoin". First let us clear that. Bnb is a good project but it is built to work with the Binance exchange. Bnb price has stalled from its expected upwards movement due to the fact that their American customers are no longer allowed to trade there and it affected the price of BNB along with its volume. So I think binance should work on their bnb project to make it acceptable for several other use case other than just their exchange first. Afterwards we can now compare and see if it will live up to its name
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use crypto? on: September 06, 2019, 10:43:04 PM
This is a very pertinent question as I haven't really given it a thought. So far though, I can only remember using my crypto for a few things outside trading. I think I used it for the arbitraging platform once and I also used it for kelta mining. I have not used it to buy stuff online before however, I am planning on using it to by airtime credits for my phone lines in future with ETN
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if Ethereum replaces Bitcoin someday? on: September 06, 2019, 07:49:29 PM
No. It won't. I don't see it happening now or even in future.  Have you checked the market cap of Bitcoin? That alone dwarfs all altcoins put together. Not only that, the total supply of bitcoin is much lower than that of Ethereum, meaning scarcity will be higher for btc than eth which translates to btc having more value
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which country to start an altcoin? on: September 06, 2019, 03:00:49 PM
I've been interested in how to win over bitcoin (if at all).
The idea I got is using social mining, thus each person having Facebook account will get a coin for free.
The idea is to get more users more faster compared to BTC and not win by technology.

1) Has such been tried ?
2) In what country might it be cheapest to start launching a website and ask people to join to see whether such coin can be brought to life and turns viral ?

If everybody gets a coin on facebook for free, who will buy the coin? What value is attached to that coin? Creating an altcoin is easy. Building value on that altcoin is a different ball game already. You should think about this first before considering what country you can launch the altcoin from
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Recruitment for a BIG PROJECT on: September 06, 2019, 02:50:44 PM
This is a welcome development. However I do not think that here is the best section to post a vacancy. I think there should be a much more relevant section of this forum where you can post your vacancy. I could be wrong though...
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it safe to exchange big amounts? on: September 06, 2019, 02:36:14 PM
All it takes is one errant staff to intercept and decide to steal your funds if it is really large. Why not send it in batches over a series of different exchangers instead of using only one at a go. Those exchangers might be safe but you never know. Best to be on the safer side with your money
