What makes a stablecoin is dependent on the particular asset that it is pegged to. I'm guessing the demand for those assets have not being high and that is the reason the price of the stablecoin falls

I am sorry but I do not think Cryptopia is at fault here since they already gave you a warning that all funds sent may not be recovered. There is probably nothing they can do about it so just let it go

If this happens (although I do not see it happening) then there will be a global meltdown in the prices of all cryptocurrency. Literally, every coin will turn to shit and all institutions that run on crypto or have accepted crypto as their source of payment for services will likely crash and close down their operations

Well, I think Satoshi created bitcoin to serve as a more convenient and trustworthy system of currency. I think in a way he also tries to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor due to the decentralized nature of BTC and as such no single entity can control the price of the currency

I have several altcoins that I have been hodling since 2017. Today their price is ridiculously low. I even regret not selling them off last year. I doubt if they can ever go back up again

You are not being grumpy. Your opinion on KYC is solid. Trading has become a problem because exchanges now demand mandatory KYC which I dislike a lot. I can't blame exchanges that ask it because it is the government in their region that enforce it on them

ICOs are a big risk. Do people still invest in ICOs despite how many of them failed in 2018? I think the IEO model is still a bit better than the old ICO ones which lack regulations

Ethereum and Bitcoin are the best to invest in at the moment. But if you have spare funds, you can look into buying some top 10 coins as well. I'd go for Monero and EOS

I bought some Ripple for myself and a friend some few months ago. The price has not been encouraging though. Not dipping but just static despite the btc pump and other alts pumping too. I expected XRP to go up as well but its disappointing

If you invest and expect the value of your investment to keep going up, then you need to wake up as it only happens in dreams or ponzi schemes. Prices are determined by two major forces. Buyers and sellers. So if prices are not changing then it means there is a deadlock between buyers and sellers which may need a 3rd party to trigger the price movement up or down. 3rd party could come from any source. It could be from a positive news which will drive people to buy more, driving the price up. It could be a FUD which will scare people into selling more and thus pushing the price down. So its nothing to worry about really. If you feel crypto is a bubble, then no need investing in it. If you believe in crypto, buy and hold till price goes higher

There have been several questions regarding this same topic post. There is no perfect project anywhere. Investors just do their due diligence by researching on the project before they buy into it. Whether it does well or not will depend on the devs behind the project

Not many people can afford hardware wallets and I support your advise. Wallets that get hacked are usually publicly known addresses. Having a separate wallet which will be known only to you will greatly reduce the chances of being hacked

The negative side of of bitcoin is that criminals can use it as a means to launder money, finance terrorism, drug related crimes and more. These are the reasons why btc is criticized but I believe all this will change when regulation comes in
