I have contacted everyone in private earlier today.

Too bad they are now trading for 2.35BTC each on btct and haverlock
542  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: August 24, 2013, 05:39:59 PM
It's fun watching it go down in a panic over two reduced dividends, which were later explained to be the minority of our income for the last two weeks.  In Bitcoin-world, if the money's not in a speculator's hands immediately after it is earned in the form of dividends, they seem to think that it's gone... there is no concept of reinvestment here.

I haven't seen a successful, publicly listed Bitcoin company without dividends yet.  It speaks to our shortsightedness.
There is actually good reason for this: with no oversight, no regulation, anonymity of management, no transparency and absolutely no recourse in event of fraud - as a result, there is no trust. The only guarantee you have in bitcoinland in when your ROI is provided to you via coins transferred to your wallet. This selling represents a lack of trust and faith in management, whether you feel it is valid or not.
543  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: August 24, 2013, 05:27:38 PM
I am not seeing any support or btct until 2.85BTC which we will probably get to and hang out around until next Wednesday.
New prediction: we will see 2.5BTC before we see 3.7BTC
I am actually short-term bearish but mid-term bullish.  I think FC will deliver before the competition and this will see mid-4s by year end.  But we are in for a couple disappointing dividend payments as short sighted investors fret about the cashflow going towards R&D and the dividend suffering.  Also, more Avalon chips and BFLs will come online before ASICMiner puts their new hashing tech online and our hashrate will likey slowly decline over the next month - this will further scare out the speculators.
I was proven right yet again, now under 2.5 (last I checked at 2.35BTC).
544  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Dwolla freezing all financial transfers related to bitcoins?! on: August 23, 2013, 06:34:37 PM
Well the Dwolla-Mt. Gox thing is old, but now Dwolla seems to pre-emptively be blacklisting CampBX and localbitcoins.com.  Basically, any known bitcoin trading venue.

Since when?  Is my reading comprehension really poor or is yours?

Where do you get that Dwolla has a problem with transfers to and from CampBX?
Geez, you post in a thread without even reading it?  Check the first 2 posts in this thread.
545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal soon to accept bitcoins on: August 23, 2013, 04:53:19 AM

Seems unlikely paypal going to ad bitcoin, when its edgier competition Dwolla won't allow funds to go to any bitcoin exchange/venue anymore
546  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Dwolla freezing all financial transfers related to bitcoins?! on: August 23, 2013, 04:51:28 AM
thats weird, i thought this was in effect months ago when ICE/homeland security/general govt oppression  said i couldn't cash from mtgox to dwolla. but yeah its tough for these companys, basically they have to alienate their customer base or risk going to jail.   god bless the usa.

I wonder if this news partially responsible for the weakness BTC  having today
548  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] Butterfly Labs BFL Little Single IN HAND on: August 23, 2013, 04:01:28 AM
Solf for $3700BTC on ebay - which converts to about 34BTC on coinbase after all fees.  That just the better way to go for you.

There are 100s of us here ...we can just pool together and rent out some small VPS  companies.
Only two choices - keep signing up for VPS and milking them until account frozen or pay up for a dedicated server.  THe first method more time-consuming but also more profitable.  Dedicated servers expensive.
550  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Dwolla freezing all financial transfers related to bitcoins?! on: August 23, 2013, 03:09:25 AM
The presumptuous language they use never fails to appall me ("we appreciate your understanding"). I hope they appreciate their business circling the sinkhole.
Sucks but you do have to understand. They do this or people with guns come and kick down their office door.
After the whole Mt Gox drama, they are obviously being proactive to avoid any more supeonas and run-ins with the law

Linode kicked me out  Tongue
The best bet may be a less popular company since they probably kick people off when other users complain their droplets slow.  Less users means less likely for someone to complain.

GPU mining working yet?

Nobody knows. The only person who is likely capable of making a GPU miner for primecoin Mtmlr has disappeared off of the forums for a week now, without any update.
With a lot of BTC in donations  Roll Eyes

People said it wasn't time to bring out the pitchforks yet. Now, a proper week has passed since his last update. Is it time to bring out the pitchforks?

Did he provide a beta version of the GPU miner to all people who donated?

It fine if he fails, but then he should refund the donations.

Also, more Avalon chips and BFLs will come online before ASICMiner puts their new hashing tech online and our hashrate will likey slowly decline over the next month - this will further scare out the speculators.

They don't need the new tech to increase their hashrate. The current chips could mine for a long time still before electricity bills would make it problematic wrt competitors. I don't think we will see the hashrate decreasing over the next month. Remember the +200TH/s order? That would be close to 50% of the network right now, and some of it is ready already (as the new hw sales demonstrate).

The hashrate # will go up but what is importat is total % of network hashrate which I think will trend slowly down

It really is a shame since CampBX has slowly been improving volume and narrowing their bid-ask spread.  Plus their fee of 0.55% is better than Coinbase's 1%, plus they usually have a lower price.  The disadvantage has been the three days to move funds from bank to Dwolla (from dwolla to campbx is near-instant).  Now, just to safe 0.45%, it not worth wiring funds or mailing them to CampBX - will just stick with coinbase.  This is great news for coinbase, bad news for campbx and bad for US Bitcoiners.

Common VPS Miners compatible with primecoin:
Server4you: http://www.server4you.com/  <---currently best price/performance I have found
Amazon EC 2: http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/
Digital Ocean: https://www.digitalocean.com/
Linode: https://www.linode.com/
Ramnode: http://www.ramnode.com/
Warrior VPS: https://www.warriorvps.com/
Hetzner Online Server Auction: https://robot.your-server.de/order/market (not a VPS but useful way to buy server power cheap)

Nice thread !

But regarding ramnode it should be edited. Here is what they replied to me when I asked them a while ago what was their attitude regarding primecoin mining :

Hi *****,

Please refer to our acceptable usage policy -- https://clientarea.ramnode.com/aup.php

Regards,

Elliot S.
Skype: RamNode
Twitter: @RamNode

the TOS is clear :

"HARDWARE RESOURCE USAGE

Client agrees not to run any processes on his or her VPS which create a CPU load above .9 on the VPS for an extended period of time or which cause a high CPU load on the host node for an extended period of time. In other words, client agrees not to use the equivalent of a full core for him or herself for an extended period of time."

Mining there will get your account suspended...
Thanks will remove it.  I have a feeling all the VPS might eventually suspend you unless you get a dedicated server since it "steals" resources from other users on the same server.

I've posted a new beta v3.1 that removes the hard coded share values. Share value now only reported on block summary.

I've also created a single dropbox folder for all my releases now - so only a single link to check:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/sq24hzo993afy9c/l7icP0KiuM

No performance difference to beta v3 only the display update.

Due to many requests I've done AVX and XP-x64 builds of 3.1.. These are both available in the same dropbox folder as before. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/sq24hzo993afy9c/l7icP0KiuM

I can't test the AVX build directly so do not know if its working properly.. XP-x64 should be good though.

Let me know if there's any issues..
How is XP-x64 different from regular x64?  Is XP an instruction set?

I just got this email today after I initiated a bank transfer to fund my Dwolla account. I had previously used dwolla to buy bitcoins on localbitcoins, and had also transferred fundsto camp bx.  Anyone else have this issue before?  This will be a killer for both of these US services - looks like stuck with coinbase and their high fees.

Added the newest exchange for XPM CoinEX @ https://coinex.pw/ .  Fee is 0% for now.  This makes the 6th exchange XPM is on.

Very nice  Smiley
too bad that btc-e petition seems to be going nowhere
