The way mining and difficulty works, the infrastructure is directly proportional to the block rewards (base reward + fees). More fees and higher exchange rates will always directly improve the hashing power of the network. No such thing as enough if you are interested in improving the hash rate. |

The biggest problem is not the fee (people are used to much, much higher fees), but that many new users are unaware of it. They only find out about it after searching for answers why their transaction does not get confirmations.
The wallets need to make it easier to set the fee. Some wallets won't even show it because it was left out for simplicity/space.
It should be in everyone's interest to support mining. The exchange rate can double within a day. Increasing the hashing power, and with it the security of the network, takes time.

Auf die Gefahr hin, mich zu wiederholen: wie schön wäre es, gar keine Fidor-Bank mehr zu benötigen! Das ist natürlich das langfristige Ziel und bis dahin ist Fidor sicher nicht die schlechteste Alternative.  Eine Bank zu bemühen finde ich grundsätzlich vernünftig. Problematisch sehe ich im Moment, dass die Überweisung von Kunde nach Kunde geht, statt einmal über die Bank. Somit kann es zufällig einen Kunden treffen bei einem Betrug. Würde die Bank dies abfangen, wäre es besser für den Kunden. Immerhin bezahlt man ja auch 1% Gebühr bei jedem Handel. Davon könnte man einen Teil zur Versicherung verwenden, wie es Börsen ja auch machen müssen. |

Sobald das mit bitcoin.de und Fidor komplett umgesetzt ist und man direkt Fidor zu Fidor überweist, bzw. automatisch überwiesen wird, kann sowas natürlich nicht mehr passieren  Da bin ich mir nicht so sicher. Kann nicht immer jemand behaupten, dass ein "Hacker" die Zugangsdaten gestohlen hat. Nach her Integration und steigendem Wechselkus gehe ich von höheren Volumen aus, sodass die Versuchung eines solchen Betrugs steigt. |

meine Vermutung ist halt wie bisher beschrieben, dass sich jemand irgendwie Zugang zu einem fremden Konto verschafft hat (sei es über Pishing oder gefälschte schriftliche Überweisungsträger) und dann dadurch bitcoins bezahlt hat. Das Geld kam bei mir an, ich hab die bitcoins freigegeben und alles war soweit gut. Nun nach einer gewissen Zeit merkt der tatsächliche Inhaber des Kontos, dass Geld fehlt und erstellt eine Anzeige. Mein Konto wird gesperrt und evlt. wird dann noch das Geld zurückgefordert (in meinem Fall siehts so aus, als wurde mir kein Geld abgezogen, aber es gibt einige andere Fälle, bei denen das so war) Ouch, das kann ja jedem Bitcoin-Verkäufer passieren. Vielleicht sollte ich mir das mit dem Marktplatz noch einmal überlegen. Bei einer Börse (mtgox/bitstamp) kann soetwas nicht passieren. |

Correction there is no cost to the miner.
Miners ALREADY prioritize txs for selection into the next block. The patch simply changes the rules on how they will be prioritized.

Why should I as a miner do this? This costs extra computing time = less blocks = less profit.
It is a way to encourage better practice in the whole network, at a small loss for the miner. Potentially to show regulators that there is something that the network could do, should there be an attempt to blacklist coins. For more details you would need to read the thread. Like I said, it appears to be temporary for testing purposes. |

As I said in the other thread, I can ALWAYS sell at those insane high price and get the CNY in my account within 24 hours. So the price is REAL. The volume is inflated simply due to free transaction.

Agreed. (emphasis mine) Maybe they are just fu**ing smarter than you. Maybe they realize that this technology could be a hedge against their US debt holdings. Or perhaps they just want Bitcoin innovations to come from China vs. some other country. I mean, China wants power. When it comes to finances they are actually very forward thinking.

Sicherlich ist bitcoin nicht unbedingt DAS Bankenthema, aber es muß ja auch nicht unbedingt ein totaler Konkurent sein.
(Auch wenn es sicherlich hier ein gewisser Sonderfall durch die Kooperation ist, aber das heißt ja trotzdem nicht, dass das die einzige Bank in Deutschland oder weltweit? bleiben muss, die sowetwas macht)
Dem kann ich mich nur anschließen. Ich freue mich auf die zukünftige stärkere Integration der Fidor Bank mit bitcoin.de. Wenn alles klappt, wird das dann die erste Bank-gestützte Bitcoinbörse. |

There are two reasons that can delay your transactions at the moment. - No transaction fee. (I believe double minimum will cause it to be put in extra area, if the miner uses the default configuration.)
- Address reuse. (Some miners will delay transactions that reuse addresses to discourage this practice. Blockchain.info reuses addresses.)

Gold selling is a problem of game companies, because it lowers their revenue. Selling gold is against the TOS. Legality is not an issue.
Many drugs are illegal, which makes them a problem of the state.

Well, the argument is that somehow the USB or sound card can be manipulated for code injection.
If that argument is allowed, then why should it not be possible through the camera. An adversary generates a "magic" QR code (same as the magic audio or USB hijack), which causes the camera to create some sort of malicious code that causes the offline computer to be infected.
All of them are a far stretch, which is the point I was trying to make.
