Barek, das ist hier Withdrawal Baustelle. Robert666 kann sich noch nicht so klar ausdrücken. Wink

You realize that what you describe is an insurance provided by the credit card company?

In your scenario where BTC is widely used, such an insurance could be bought separately.

Who knows, maybe credit card companies will even offer this insurance.
263  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: btc-e Auszahlung on: December 04, 2013, 11:45:24 PM
Merkwürdig.

Ich kann ohne Probleme Bitcoin abziehen. Trotz nicht verifiziertem Account. Halt max.

Changing/resetting the password, changing of the e-mail. For the purpose of security. Hold up to 3 days. It cannot be removed.
Depositing money from the payment systems with a high fraud activity. Hold from 1 to 7 days. It cannot be removed.
Depositing money through the wire transfer. The time of the hold is from 1 month. It can be removed by providing your IDs through the ticket.

This method fits the bill:

Then you need someone to make you a nice paper wallet (using your intermediate key) and you are set.

Google gave me the following. I'm sure there are other providers.

I think your best bet is to have one ticket only and update it if you feel like you have waited too long without a reply.

Also remember there is a language barrier and their support is not necessarily fluent in English. Keep things simple, polite, and don't take offense if something is not immediately clear. A good example for a translation mistake is the "invoice of transfer". I bet it now makes sense when you think about it.

The first two donations are received! Keep up the good work! Grin

Hm? https://blockchain.info/address/1PUxgtyV4WKnsKk9Zpcsoy6iMCHdYDJSrk

You might want to get in contact with a reputable forum member. An account signed up 10 days ago asking for donations ... is suspicious.
268  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox is sitting on my funds. on: December 04, 2013, 10:14:28 PM
So i wired some money to mt.gox and received an email saying:

-----Your Deposit has been put on hold as a result of our confirmation process.

-----In order to finalize the transaction we require invoice of the transfer with your name and address written on the document.

No details as to what exactly the invoice is to say nor and address to send to were given, whether it needed to be from me or my bank, hard or digital copy, etc.

Several support things have been sent in which have all gone unanswered.

Is this normal behaviour?  Has anyone else encountered this and if so, what did you do?

Wow, haven't read of that one. I bet they want a scan of your bank statement, which typically has your name and address on it. But don't banks only send those out once per month? Maybe you can request it from your bank for a fee? Then I would remove all irrelevant transactions and other private details.

Basically, they have to make sure that the account the money comes from belongs to you. It's a money laundering issue. Future deposits from the same account should not be delayed. It would be nice if they announced that beforehand, so one could verify an account before sending and freezing money.

As to where. There is a support website where I bet you can upload it. Sadly, they are not the fastest to reply. Was the chat any useful?
269  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Kraken Now Open for Germany on: December 04, 2013, 09:22:35 PM
Umtauschen hat geklappt. Eigentleich ganz leicht. Was muss bei Description rein? :-) Huh

Also don't forget that the Bitcoin infrastructure needs to grow. Mining hardware, exchanger permits, ATMs, .... All this takes time.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Also note that Namecoin's primary use is not that of a currency but rather a a decentralized generic name/value datastore system.

For example, Namecoin can be spent to register .bit domains.
272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trading volumes in China in dollars. LTC: 120 million USD. BTC: 60 million USD on: December 04, 2013, 08:28:52 PM
All I'm saying is that users have no benefit of using both BTC and LTC. The only ones profiting would be exchangers.

Time will tell if it's going to be BTC or LTC (or some other virtual currency).

I'll bite, before this ends up in the Alts subforum.  Grin

The price will be determined much earlier. I still think the outcome is either much higher than now, or forgotten.

Litecoin is too similar to Bitcoin. For the user, there is hardly any difference. Litecoin has higher fees (which may change) and Bitcoin has more utility. So for now, it looks more like Bitcoin will be the one to make it.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trading volumes in China in dollars. LTC: 120 million USD. BTC: 60 million USD on: December 04, 2013, 08:04:38 PM
Most (all?) exchanges take not fee in China, which makes transaction volume a poor indicator for interest.

Litecoin is highly speculative. I would not be surprised if people use it as a form of gambling.

With Bitcoin there is a long term expectation and a good number of buyers will be investors that buy once and then plan to hold for a while.

In a way, you are in the same situation now.

Yes, it has gone up in value drastically, but it may also continue to go up in value drastically.

Or it may fail.

You should come back to the thread in a year and tell us what you ended up doing. Smiley

Another perk for the Japanese: next day withdrawals from Mt. Gox. Smiley

Bitcoin by default will not make more than 8 outgoing connections, and -maxconnections only controls how many incoming connections you allow. Feel free to set this higher, but it will take time before others connect to you in large numbers.

Please don't change this, as there is no need. Connectable peers on the network are a scarce resource, and essential to the decentralization. If people go try connect to all of them like some sites do, we'll very quickly run out.

In case you're a merchant or miner, you perhaps want to set up a few fixed connections to trusted others (see the -addnode command line/config option), but having more connections does not mean stronger verification (the reference client always verifies everything) or even faster relaying (as you'll slow down by distributing new blocks and transactions to all your peers). It is mostly a matter of providing a server to the network.

If you are starting out from scratch, there is a torrent for a bootstrap file out there that will save you time.

Take a look at Armory. It acts as an extension of bitcoin-qt and has much better transaction control.

(http://www.bafoeg-rechner.de/FAQ/vermoegen.php)
