Missing the point like few are able.

Can you prove you have even have 1,000?

Place your bets in the proper manner.

Prove you actually have the funds to pay me if I do.
So now all you want is me to prove I have 1,000BTC? You don't care anymore if I have 10,000BTC? Time to make a for more meta threads.

"I'm offering 100% ROI to anyone who thinks I don't have 1,000BTC to pay out."
"I'm offering 100% ROI to anyone who thinks I don't have 100BTC to pay out."
"I'm offering 100% ROI to anyone who thinks I don't have 10BTC to pay out."
"I'm offering 100% ROI to anyone who thinks I don't have 1BTC to pay out."

I do care if you have 10k when it comes to you paying on that bet.  But that's not the topic of this thread.

This game is kind of like when you put a card to your head and bet on who has the high card.

In this thread, you're saying you'll pay up to 1,000 BTC if you can't prove you have 10k BTC.  I'm simply skeptical of your ability to pay should people call you on your bet.  It has nothing to do with the other bet.

Why pay dividends when that artificially limits your rig upgrades?  The wallet and existing rigs are the assets.

#23 - I doubt you have 10,000 BTC.  Can you please address sign a balance of at least 10k and post the message here?
327  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Who do you think Matthew's backer is for the 10k btc bet? on: August 24, 2012, 12:51:05 PM
Matthew.  I doubt that you have 10,000 BTC.  Can you please post an address signed message here proving that you do?
328  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Who do you think Matthew's backer is for the 10k btc bet? on: August 24, 2012, 02:21:34 AM
pirateat40

Think about it. He get's to keep the half million and pays out the 10k to the "told you so"s.

Perfect symmetry.

Thanks for the good idea! I'm gonna ask him if he's interested.

UPDATE: He declined and no action has happened since I asked. I guess he's not interested in backing up my silly bets.

Can you confirm that you have that much BTC?  Sign an address with 10k in it?
329  Economy / Securities / Are there any listed securities for this type of thing...? on: August 23, 2012, 10:26:54 PM
What I'm envisioning is a company listed on GLBSE that does the following...

Operator sells 49% of company in IPO.

Funds are used to purchase mining equipment, whatever is available at the price equal to what the shares sold for (or to wait in line with BFL).

All mining goes into wallet that is publicly visible (address is known) and is considered an asset of the company, along with the hardware.  The wallet is offline only and backed up appropriately.

At such time when a sale of 50% of the wallet would yield enough $ or BTC to purchase more equipment (another ASIC, for example), 50% of the wallet is spent on more hardware.

This is designed to last in perpetuity, however, should the majority owner decide to close up shop, he sells equipment for BTC or $ converted to BTC (into publicly visible wallet) and divides the wallet among shareholders.

Anything out there like this?

So basically we're still waiting because bitlane won't leave pirate alone long enough to get anything done?

Could you elaborate on what bitlane could possibly do to delay payment?
332  Economy / Service Discussion / Quick Question - What if Pirate didn't say he would pay in a week or two? on: August 22, 2012, 06:54:05 PM
What if he stated from the outset that he'd be paying in 1-2 months?

After 6 weeks, would the pro-Pirate people be saying, "Well... he did say it could take 2 months..."?

What if he stated that it would take 6 months?

After 5 and a half months, would they be calming the naysayers?  "He did say it might take 6 months."

Is there any conceivable time frame he could have given that would simply be too long for anyone to believe?
333  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will ASIC mining destroy Bitcoin? on: August 22, 2012, 03:50:17 PM
The real question for miners is - Do you spend your money on these machines or do you simply buy the BTC on an exchange.  Historically, are you not better off just buying BTC off MtGox, especially if you believe difficulty will dramatically increase after the first x-number of units are delivered and turned on?

I didn't play anyone.  I attempted to send to Alex and Dwolla gave me the error.

I attempted to send to you and it went through...  In short, Dwolla knows Alex is a bitcoiner and they're unaware that's what you're doing.  Gave you the advantage.

* in reality, Alex was offering more BTC than you... so I guess I played myself.   Roll Eyes
336  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] Bitcoins with Dwolla on: August 21, 2012, 06:12:22 PM
Want to buy 6 BTC.  Any offers?

I can take 60 dwolla for 5.71BTC

Sorry.  I cannot send Dwolla to you without waiting 30 days.  Need to be able to send immediately.

339  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hey Pirate, it's Monday....WHERE ARE MY BITCOINS ? on: August 21, 2012, 03:15:51 PM
Funny... I'm an attorney in TX and would be itching to do the legal action if in fact it turned out that this guy is Pirate@40 AND it turns out that he stole the funds.  Or perhaps work as a consultant for whatever firm was hired to prosecute.

I don't really care abotu bitcoins (although it is very interesting) I just wanted something fun to do and make friends.

I'm going to ask you a very serious question.  When you go to school, so you click the strap on your backpack around your waist?
