I guess I should be clear about what a premined coin is. Premined coins are those above normal within the Genesis block itself. This chain will not feature such a Genesis block.
By almost everyone else's definition of premined coins is coins that are mined before the client is released to the public. Ixcoin's creator premined 580k coins before releasing ixcoin. Lolcust just happened to come up with a way to put all the premined coins in the genesis block so as to not bloat the chain unnecessarily. So just say fairbrix will have 3775 premined coins as oppose to tenebrix's 7.7 mil. Nothing wrong with that. Fair enough. I'll make the necessary changes. |

How are these different than other cryptocurrencies?
One mines these more efficiently with a CPU than a GPU. Blocks found every 5 minutes on average. See the Tenebrix announcement for more details. |

Before general release, I will mine about 151 blocks to lock in the Genesis block and establish that the program works as advertised.
Genesis nonce/hash has been found.
First lock-in is at 150 blocks.
I will mine 151 blocks to lock-in Genesis and release the link for everyone else shortly after that.
I will NOT mine very much beyond this, if at all before the general release. All blocks, including the first, will be worth only 25FBX.

Gotcha. So I choose to lock in after 151 blocks (genesis becomes canon) using a hash (you may make that the first lock-in if you wish) and in the future, if I choose to do another at block 1,000, that may be done without a total makeover of the code? Am I understanding correctly?

Oh, one more thing michael - I will replace the blockchain lockins of Tenebrix with "standard" multicoin code that allows you to set a locking via config without editing the code and recompiling, if you do not mind (Obviously you need TBX lockins removed but I suspect you might want to set one of your own at some point)

Suppose one likes the idea of GPU hostile currency, but dislikes the idea of Tenebrix being invented as a potential laundry with over 7 million coins going to its creator.
How difficult would it be to rename Tenebrix (into Fairbrix, for example), create a new genesis block without the premined coins, and let everyone mine on it?
Hell, I'll even start the bounty at 200TBX.

You keep saying that you're going to hire coders with the premined coins, but that you're also going to keep them off the market. Both of these statements cannot be true. I will continue to mine, because I was too late to the Bitcoin party and I think it's neat to watch a solo miner work, but ultimately, until you destroy the coins you're running a very real risk of seeing this in the near future...
