781  Economy / Speculation / What's happening in bitcoin today? on: December 16, 2013, 07:31:59 PM
The price is starting to fall like a stone, usually this happens when something bad happens in the media.

Anything?

Howcto hard reset? My memory is full so i cant change or delete anything.

Can you power cycle?

What you mean?

Turn it off.  Let 30 seconds pass.  Turn it on.

Yes, i restored default now it wont connect with my lan (no ip to connect from)

If your Avalon has been reset to default the IP will now be 192.168.0.100 on your Avalon. You need to change the IP on your computer to 192.168.0.10 to be able to connect to 192.168.0.100 using a web browser.
785  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My MtGox account hacked... Lost $60,000... :'( on: December 12, 2013, 11:10:58 AM
Sounds like Mt Gox needs to start providing people with Authenticator keys, I am surprised they aren't already doing do as one of the largest if not the largest bitcoin exchange to protect themselves and their customers.

786  Other / Beginners & Help / Escrow services question on: December 11, 2013, 08:08:09 PM
Is there any Escrow service that is better than another?

I am looking to possibly use one to buy some Blu Fury's. As I got burned once giving someone I didn't know half the payment up front to something they never shipped or intended too I don't want to go down that path and the 4 hour drive to timbuk2 one way do to a do a face to face meet its worth it.

Thanks,

Actually during the October hack, hackers used avatar directory of forum to upload "backdoors", so admins have paused all profile's from uploading avatars.

Where do I edit the line where you have your BTC number so I can add info there on my account?

Thanks,
789  Other / Beginners & Help / Account issues!! on: December 08, 2013, 12:52:04 PM
How do I add a pic to my account? When I go into the profile page and select the btc picture then click on change the site reverts it back to no picture. So using the Windows 7 snipping tool I create saved the btc picture to my computer and selected I want to upload a picture, again when I click on the change button it reverted back to no picture. Sad

This is very frustrating! Sad

791  Bitcoin / Mining / The bitcoin divide on: December 06, 2013, 07:10:09 PM
I am not sure if these the correct forum to write this in?

I have noticed there is a huge gap that I call the bitcoin divide between the people who want to get into Bitcoin mining and the people who have been bitcoin mining for a long time that it makes it very difficult for people to jump in and get their feet wet, as well I finding there isn't a lot of good information out there to help new investors so they, like me, make silly and stupid mistakes along the way.

One of which is I sunk $15k of my own money into buying gear from local people where if I had known more about the possibilities and process to buying bitcoins at exchanges first I would have been far better off now. Right now I still see people selling Avalon ASIC B2/B3 four module miners on eBay and locally here (where I live) for 5 to $10k. Yet we all know buying them new cost 3.5B ($3500 or less) and that's shipped to your. Back when I got involved bitcoins were worth $143 and a anvy miner would costs me between $1800 and $2100 each. I believe that the resell market is driving away the potential and stability of bitcoin, people have to understand hardware is hardware it doesn't keep it's value it loses it over time.

792  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC at $650 on: December 06, 2013, 06:56:13 PM
A friend of mine is selling me BTC at $650 dollars each one, buy with all the things abot china and future problems I do not think is a goof moment to buy, the ptice could drop at any moment even below 650, what would you do?Huh

Stop whining! Bitcoin will behave like this until all 21 million coins are available, it's still going to be alternative currency for a very long time that goes up and own in price. Smiley
793  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Blue Furt Support Thread. on: December 05, 2013, 12:04:03 PM
I am curious is there anyway to flash these suckers on a Windows box? I am not a *nix or iMac person.

Thanks,
794  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Blue Fury Miners V2 2.6Gh/s on: December 05, 2013, 11:29:59 AM
Does anyone know if these miners will work on a Vantec 10 port USB 2.0 hub or will have I scale them back to 6 per hub like I had to do with the 335MH/s miners?

795  Bitcoin / Mining / USB Hub question? on: December 04, 2013, 06:41:04 PM
What do I need to power say 24 USB keys, the 2.2GH/s Blue Fury, how big does the PSU need to be in Amps?

Thanks

Do you guys mine PPcoin as well with your Avalons?

I gave it a go, but long block times + 120 confirms means it's about 3 days before you actually get your hands on the coins. At the moment 3 days is an eternity Smiley

Have you looked the exchange like btc-e to see if on converting them to BTC that you'd get double the bitcoins compared to just mining bitcoins only?

Sorry, I still don't fully understand how to use the exchanges, I am not a stock type/exchange type of guy. LOL

I mine NMC, but the exchange rate is so small, it's almost enough to cover pool fees.

Thanks for that update but I was talking about PeerCoin or PPCoin not NameCoin. Wink

I have found some local twit who says that he mines PPcoin with his Avalons then trades them for Bitcoin getting double the amount of bitcoins then if he just mined bitcoins. He's a twit because he's selling his batch 3 Avalons for 12,000$ CAD each and sites because he they can mine PPcoin they are worth that much!

I did explain just now that avalon-asic.com does have batch 3 four module Avalons in stock for 3.5BTC's which is about $3500 CAD (new and shipped) and that regardless what he uses them for to mine the price on the actual hardware doesn't change. Smiley

799  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: November 30, 2013, 10:29:23 AM
Yifu totally screwed over batch 4 customers with his delays... 104 BTC... my unit has produced not even close to that amount. Im not happy at all.

What do you expect when buying from a person with the name of Y-i-FU! Wink
800  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: November 30, 2013, 01:23:58 AM
I see that YiFU has put the B3 4 module Avalon instock. But I am not going to buy one until the price comes down. Back when the where selling for 12 BTC the conversation to CAD was $1800, now that the conversation is about $1100 per BTC now, 3.5BTC for a 4 module Avalon new is too much money.

Smiley
