1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-SALE] [SELFKEY] ID Wallet for Citizenship, Fintech, Exchanges and much more on: December 11, 2017, 11:21:01 AM
I saw a post on Reddit about SelfKey, someone asked the following question here.
Maybe the dev can answer it? Because I am interested as well! Thanks!

Quote

1.    if you plan to engage authorized agents, will there be functionality allowing users to interact with them directly, without the "middle man";

2.    how do you plan to engage notaries? they will have to have their own "digital seals", but notary seals are only issued by governments. meaning, to have any power or effect that "digital seal" has to be state-approved, at least now. how do you guys plan to solve that?

Hi Schmutzfrosch,

1. one of the advantages of selfkey is that we remove the middle man, as you directly deal with the local authorized agents. In immigration and citizenship by investment services, this could make a huge difference on the cost.

2. Notaries sign with a public key. Notaries that will participate in the network, will be those of that states and countries where eNotary and remote notarization is allowed, their digital seals are government authorized. For instance Virginia (US). All service providers of our marketplace will accept eNotarizations.

Very Interesting! I think cutting the middleman is the right choice. Saves a lot of time and money. Notarization can be a huge pain in the ass

Oh man, I can relate to the story of applying for a credit card and then getting flooded with “deals” from companies like Mastercard, Visa, Barclays, and American Categorical...

Centralized ID Information sucks - just look at how our data gets handed around

May be a noob question, but how secure are these hashes actually?

Good one! Your PR is on fire!
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have 12 Bitcoin. What should I do??? on: November 29, 2017, 08:40:01 AM
There is only one choice to keep it. To keep for as long as I can. Read the article the analyst says that in 2018 BITCOIN will cost 40 thousand. And the next possible correction in the area of 25 thousand. Well, bitcoin is already almost 11 thousand.
I think 90% need to keep. 10 percent can be put into altcoins

Amazing how sure people are about bitcoins success.
It could very well be true but I would (with 12 damn btc) at least cash out two of them as a hedge.
My personal opinion....
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you see alts have chances against Bitcoins? on: November 29, 2017, 07:18:57 AM
I have been seeing Bitcoins' price rising with a stability in its growth, but due to the higher mining fee that is being levied on transactions these days, big businesses are now moving their funds towards alts and taking advantage with their least fees as well as shaping a completely new economy in the trends of altcoin markets. Do you think this may harm Bitcoin's dignity and open up a chance in real for alts to rise?
I dont think alts can be a rival in value to bitcoin. They may have the potential rising in value but i dont think it can defeat bitcoin’s value. Bitcoin has gone too far already to be reached by other altcoins.

Yeah i agree.
But it depends on what you look at. Value per coin might not be surpassed.
But in terms of stability, transactiosn speed, anonymity there are other players at hand Smiley

This is one of the most clever applications of the Eth blockchain that i have ever seen.
And your Token is bound to mercilessly overshadow a big amount of othrr tokens,  because KEY provides a massive Utility!

I agree.
Usually I avoid typical cryptokiddie-behaviour but I must say, I am pretty hyped about this!

Thank you for your words.

With token sales under an increasing regulatory scrutiny, most are realising that KYC should be done at the highest standards.

We are providing this service, our web app is being used by several, we are already market leaders on this field, and we expect that with the new Desktop Identity Wallet that we will launch on January, our market position will be even stronger.

Through the new wallet, besides of performing KYC, users can import their keys and send ETH to Token Sales. This means instant onboarding, sending ETH and KYC with just one click.

Looking forward to that Desktop Wallet. I think having something to "touch and feel" will be very helpful to bringing this project to a larger audience.
I already like the marketplace alpha.

Just checked your Marketplace again.
This is crazy good guys!

Quite amazing that there is such a low activity here considering the quality of the project.
This is bound to explode pretty soon.

Thank you for your words

We are getting a lot of traction lately Smiley

About time! Smiley

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum supply unlimited? on: November 22, 2017, 09:09:52 AM
I think Vitalik said around 100 million, but that was a while ago. I suppose we have to wait until PoS is in place first before we can get close to a definite answer. Total supply isn't the be-all-and-end-all though. I mean, fiat is uncapped so technically has potentially unlimited supply.

wow you are truly a bunch of idiots beliving in vitalik that he will not deflate you wealth, wow

Elaborate plz
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tips on: November 22, 2017, 06:46:44 AM
I am a newbie to crypto field.I want to now some crypto trading tips.can you help me

Trading is to risky. Im a newbie too so base on my experience before I'll buy some item in the lowest price and sell it to higher price. It is a basic for trading buy low sell high, but once you buy that item think first if its worth it to sell in higher value. Be wise and knowledgeable to buy bitcoin for your good profits.
What if you buy at some price and then it go down, the old price never return. So my question is how to know which time to buy?

You can never know for sure

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: November 21, 2017, 02:13:21 PM
i am holding till 2020

That's what I said back when LTC was still $3. After a while I saw LTC reach up to $10, I end up not selling it even today, it must be greed or whatever but I kept holding it hoping it will be more than $50 now that its almost $80, I'm still holding them thinking it will be more than how much it is.  You will probably hold XRP until you'll withdraw it when there is the need for fiat.

I do the same  Cheesy. I bought ETC at 10$ and the initial plan was to sell at 15 $, but now it is already 18$ and I am still holding them. I don't have a direct need for that money, so I can keep them and hope that the price will continue to increase.

I think patience will be rewarded if you don't need money now, you will enjoy good profit, I hope the time to show which way is better

Yeah the same bro..

bump

Thanks for the answer!

Will the list of purchasable Citizenships be growing over the next year?
Dont get me wrong, it is amazing - but Im interested if there are ongoing negotiations to expand the portfolio of your marketplace even further Smiley

You will be able to apply for all citizenship by investment programs, which are currently listed in our alpha (http://alpha.selfkey.org/marketplace/passports)

Regarding new programs, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines is going to launch one, but no details have been released yet.

Kind regards

Awesome man! Most important for me is visa free travel to China and Schengen. Just seen that you already have Grenada in your marketplace and it covers my travel needs perfectly.
More options are always good though and its awesome to see such an active development here!

Interesting concept. 90% might seem a bit steep but I think the OP has a point here.

I think it would increace scarcity.
