Yes, now prices coins aren't stable tent to decrease although now price of GPU a little decreased but still isn't time to buy new GPU except you don't have a problem with ROI.

I was going to go for all 1080ti's but decided to think about buying a crappier rig and put the rest of the money that I would have spent anyway directly into coins as a hedge. What do you think about that idea?
Personally, for now, if you want to buy a mining rig or ASIC, have to think of many things such as ROI, coin prices, as well as electric bills.Actually, I bought all the mining rigs between 2016 - January 2018 until for now it's still profitable (for me not for all miners) I noticed that the prices for gpu's has recently come down and seem to be available again, I suppose that is at least partly to do with the fall in crypto prices? I am thinking that if you wait until the prices are high and you don't have a rig, there will be availability issues again.

no problem as long as no power shortage but a bit Lag. Do you have any examples of motherboards that would be suitable?
MSI Z170A Gaming M5 If I have 7 GPUs in total and one being a 1080ti do you think that the 1200w psi would still be suitable?
Let's calculated TDP those cards although I know when run mining isn't like that. RX580 has TDP @185W = 1110W 1080ti has TDP @250W = 250W It's better to have a lot of power left for PSU such as 1500W or more. |

Mining Rigs, if you buy with good price, has very low risk. Hardware broken? Only if you don't know how to take care about it, anyway, there is warranty. If it becomes unprofitable, just sell for gaming.
Yeah, whether Low/high it can still be called "Risk", you have to remember every hardware has a life-time limit despite having good care also the waranty has limitations such as for the next 3 years. ASIC is specific, if it becomes unprofitable, you have the most expensive brick of the world in your hands and you can't sell for another pourpose.

Saya sejauh ini merasa kalau kita masing-masing masih memiliki sebuah prinsip "egois", egois dalam artian tidak mau melihat orang lebih berhasil dari kita, hal ini berujung tidak tersalurkannya merit tersebut walaupun post tersebut dinilai bagus.
Saya rasa egois disini sah2 saja tapi kurang setuju kalau artian egois disangkut pautkan ke personalnya seperti:"tidak mau melihat org lain berhasil"?. Kata berhasil disitu pun masih multi tafsir.."berhasil" dalam artian apa?. Apakah "berhasil" dalam artian dapat merit banyak? Apakah "berhasil" dalam artian jumlah activity sudah "full member" tapi merit masih "default"? Atau activity sudah "full member" tapi merit masih 0? Jika memang kata "egois" di sematkan ke member yg punya sMerit dalam menilai suatu Post itu jauh lebih bagus. Karena egois disini ditempatkan dalm posisi yg tepat karena setiap member memiliki Standar masing2 dalam menilai suatu post itu layak/tidak diberikan sMerit. Justru kalau member yg punya sMerit tidak "egois"pastinya ada kemungkinan Merit Abuse. Dan saya termasuk salah satu member yg "egois" dalam memberikan sMerit. Sebelum memberikan sMerit saya selalu mengecek post history, isi content post (plagiat/bukan,). Termasuk memiliki ignore list dalam memberikan smerit: My Ignore List: 1. Akun JB akun dan org yg berusaha membeli akun
2. Post history nya 90% report sosmed campaign
3. Akun dengan kebiasaan copy/paste.
Dan saya pun tidak terlalu peduli jika member lain memasukan saya ke dalam "ignore list" mereka atau kedalam "daftar hitam" yg selalu mereka report ke Moderator. Let's check my post history & my Merit History. Kurang dari 1 bulan antara maret - april sy naik full member dan ikut "contest merit" cuman 1x itu pun harus debat terlebih dahulu. As far as I know, if mining using Nicehash is actually a miner who rents rigs to other miners who have a rig/not, so NH is the hashrate market.
So if talking about the spec for mining using NH let's say for miners to have mining rigs such as AMD/NVIDIA cards then they (miners) choose what algo they want also vice versa for miner(tenants) who choose what algo they want.

Inspiratif om, Satu hal yg saya suka dari om joni adalah fast response dalam menanggapi suatu issue. Meskipun dulu waktu merit saya 12 biji, saya pernah berbeda pendapat yg sangat tajam dan bahkan mungkin bagi sebagian org hal tersebut tidak pantas dilakukan oleh seorang member yg punya merit "12" (kl ngk lupa) dgn om joni yg sudah termasuk most merited member. Mungkin om joni masih ada archived nya  Tp hal tsb tidak mengurangi ke- objekfitasan dlm menilai post masing2.(sMerit) Pelajaran apa yg bisa diambil? Diskusi dengan argumentasi yg lugas, otentik, real tidak akan membuat org lain mengurangi objektifitas dalm menilai postingan org lain kecuali org yg baper masalah silang pendapat diskusi dimasukan ke hati. Tips tambahan: 1. Untuk mendapatkan merit tidak harus selalu Open Post tapi replies juga bisa, bahkan Replies yg Pedas sekalipun jika memenuhi syarat kompeten, penuh informasi pun kemungkinan bisa. GPU is more of secure investment than asic.
i have both and these days when crypto is down, GPU still making reasonable while i have to shutdown asic due to very low profitability.
That's one of the reasons why you should choose GPU/ASIC. I have a mining rig and ASIC but i have some strategy when buying ASIC at moment crypto price is on top then I "push" ASIC to get 3x profit from ROI and from that profit is used to buy part by part mining rig. For now, I doubt to buy both |

Izin ikut diskusi om@gedabuz dan om @kaisa biar clear tentang mining ETNUntuk mining ETN saya lebih suka menyebutnya Airdrop bukan mining kalau dilakukan di handphone. Cara kerja nya: Mining ETN di HP hanya "simulasi" dan yg melakukan mining realnya perangkat lain seperti CPU/GPU sehingga mining di HP tidak menyebabkan panas karena ketika berjalan HP tersebut hanya digunakan untuk mengecek wallet atau pendapatan/jumlah ETN tersebut. Pengalaman: Pertama ETN muncul dengan harga tinggi saya mining menggunakan 4-6 komputer server Xeon 2U 12 thread processor dan sehari dapat 150-300 ETN.
