101  Other / Meta / Re: Permanently banned account on: May 08, 2019, 02:50:10 AM
The above proves your account is connected to your ALt account and also the account that has been banned.
There is no rule that account will be banned (temp or perm) due to they are alts. I only see farm accounts get tagged with neutral or negative trust and feedback only (some DT members prefer to tag such cases with neutral trust, whilst others prefer to leave negative trust). The OP was likely get this ban due to plagiarism. We all know that plagiarism will lead to permanent ban when proof found, and this is the most common reason of permanent bans in the forum.
Plagiarism: If you copy some text from somewhere, then you should have a good reason for it, and you must link to the source. Doing otherwise is plagiarism. Changing a few words around doesn't matter. If we find that you plagiarized, then you absolutely will be permanently banned, even if we find it years after you did it.
102  Other / Meta / Re: The other side of merit system on: May 07, 2019, 03:09:35 AM
OP are welcome, but next time, please try to use Search feature to find available topics on things you have intention to create your own topics is the first step to make constructive topics:
★ A Complete Guideline to use forum search button properly ★
You can spend days to make your topics, but it might useless if someone else published their works (topics) long time before yours, and their topics are much better quality than yours.
Edited: I knew main objectives of OP by making this topic (there are abundant topics on merits, so the one is useless, less quality than available ones), but maybe next times OP will start with intention to make something useful, so Searching is the first step to do this because OP likely knew it or did not know it. (Editing to clarify why I give OP the topic on forum search button).
103  Other / Meta / Re: Posting guidelines for Computer Hardware section on: May 03, 2019, 11:55:10 PM
It is good to have you guidelines after some complaints on Phisycal goods recent weeks. It will help both unexperienced buyers and sellers to make their threads/ posts better. Sellers can learn from the guideline and make their posts/ threads more transparently and impressively to catch eyeballs of potential buyers. Sellers can learn from the guideline to have better overview on posts/ threads they see in Physical goods in terms of transparency, proofs of products, and eventually can make better choices.

I have only one question (maybe off topic a bit): Can we start a topic without self-moderated option, then can edit with the self-moderated option later?". I tried myself with Additional Options ... but it does not display self-moderated option when I edit my thread.

Every free party has to end some day, and Bitsend airdrop has to end (soon). There are so many complaints in community that Bitsend generous airdrops over years forced the price falling down, and the team have shown signals to make scam exit. I don't think they were right with such judgement on Bitsend airdrops and the team. However, the team have kept all of their promises to maintain many rounds of airdrops as planned orginially so far. Now, it is time to count down to the end of the airdrop, from which investors whom have interests in Bitsend have to pay for it. There is nothing free from Bitsend team (airdrops) after the last round of airdrops finished.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of Dogecoin, will its Price (DOGE/USD) Surge Again? on: May 03, 2019, 03:30:14 PM
Dogecoin now supported by Coinbase. With Coinbase supports, Dogecoin has perfect opportunity to fastly increase its users, and its total liquidity. Soon, Dogecoin will take off again. I always wait to take profits my Dogecoin from 80 to 100 satoshis. Someone probably think I am crazy, but let's wait, who knows? No one knows when Dogecoin rocket, and which price it will stop rising. There are likely some potential price, and Dogecoin is one of the most stable coin over years.

Using third party wallets at own risks. So, if it is real problem with Coinnomi (I am not sure), users of the wallet should not blame or complaint on Bitsend team supports. I don't think Bitsend team can help if it comes from Coinnomi issues. Furthermore, secure personal accounts is personal responsibility, Bitsend's.  Maybe it is a lesson, but Coinomi is a good wallet provider with convenience from thief multi coin wallets.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Shows Love to Ethereum, Justin Sun Gets Jealous and replies Tron on: May 01, 2019, 03:17:33 PM
Here's the tweet https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1123033196642201600

You can browse there lots of CT replies lmao.

Buterin even replied and invited him to eth devcon on that tweet.
What are they doing, both Elon Musk and Vitamin Buterin? With those tweets, they likely boosted the Ethereum with Rocket machines built by SpaceX. Then, the journey of Ethereum too the Moon will become closely and fastly, so we all won't have to wait for too long. It's just early signals that Elon Musk will actually invest in Ethereum. I am waiting for the appearance of Elon Musk in Ethereum devcon in October.

Two other things found (OP updated). They are both too long OPs, so I don't quote it here, instead I post links to two topics.
Idea for an anonymous file-sharing system
Idea for uncensorable DNS
109  Other / Meta / Re: Ideas and plans of theymos for the forum improvements on: May 01, 2019, 09:13:34 AM
What is the benefit of reposting ideas that may be implemented several years later and discussed several times? As long as there is one developer I do not think that such topics will change anything.
If the topic is about the changes that have already taken place, that may be meaningful.
Let me explain it more. I started with ideas that sometimes theymos posted excellent posts (as he always does), but he did not create new topics to do it, they are just posts. In addition, those posts ususally published in massive topic in Meta board, it means those posts will highly been burried with future posts from forum members. Overtime, people even don't know or forget that those posts exist in the forum. Consequently, discussions on such innovative changes are very limited.

That's is why I created the topic, to remind forum members that theymos raised something for us to discuss, and where to join those discussions.

-snip-
I highly appreciated your help, and added it in my OP.
Reporting badges are a good idea in my opinion because they encourage those that are already reporting to make more reports, but also rewards them without monetizing it.
If the reporter badges still have been in To-Do list of theymos, it should be sticked with non-financial benefits from those badges. I believe theymos does not have intention to monetize those badges. People always try to abuse, so new things should be consider that their launches won't lead to new types of abusement in the forum.
111  Other / Meta / Re: Ideas and plans of theymos for the forum improvements on: April 30, 2019, 05:15:37 PM
The reason behind potential abusements on report badges is: If there is financial benefits with those badges, people might abuse it. They can create 100 account to spam, then use their main one to report all fake spams. In the second scenario, even real users might become report hunters, and might make their low quality reports. Some time people read fast, and don't care about general aspect of the forum.
112  Other / Off-topic / Re: [GUIDE] Using bookmark tool in browsers to mark bitcointalk topics/ posts on: April 30, 2019, 05:10:41 PM
Yeap, it is true that Bookmark help us to have multiple things at once: Saving our time because whenever we need, what we need already bookmarked, so we simply have to scroll the drop-down lost in bookmark folders to find them. Maximizing the probability to find sources/ documents we need. Sometimes, we can search what we need if we use relevant keywords, sometimes we can do it because our memory on what we read months or years ago is vague, so we will hardly to find them with r]wrong keywords.
113  Other / Meta / Re: Ideas and plans of theymos for the forum improvements on: April 30, 2019, 07:18:52 AM
Badges for good reporters are not bad ideas. However, to prevent any kind of abusements with report badges, all badges should not give any kind of benefits for reporters, whom qualitied report enough to earn such badges. Then, it will be good. People will keep doing their daily stuffs, reporting when they see spam posts, and someday, they earn new badges. That's all and fine because such badges only give them honor and fun, without financial benefits.

I hope Epochtalk will be lively before the halving of bitcoin.
Quote
Epochtalk has been in development for lot more years than expected, so I don't think we would be seeing them quite sooner in this Q2-Q3 probably.
I think it is thing can not be discussed here. If theymos have needs, he will hire more staffs for our forum. One of bad things to find new staffs, especially in local boards is it's hard to find good users and qualify them due to language limitations of current mod team (I remembered I read admin / staffs wrote it). It's terrible if new staffs abused the forum, and scam others. Fortunately, merit system maybe helpful in such screening procedure to find new staffs.

Appointing of new moderators should be in the to-do list right now. We can somehow manage the forum with current moderation, but having additional moderators appointed would make the work a lot more easier.

I actually thought like you, but over time I saw some prominent users reguarly bump their topics, and I searched to find out why they do it without fear of bans. Acutlaly, bumping is allowable, but there are some rules for bumping.

There are some rules and guides on bumping.
13. Bumps, "updates" are limited to once per 24 hours.[2]

21. Old bumps should be deleted. [2]

4. Bumps are limited to once per day (24 hours), yes this includes "updates", that's what the edit button is for. Old bumps should be deleted as they serve no purpose, and only clutter up topics and make it more annoying to read.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any idea about cryptopia on: April 26, 2019, 12:43:28 PM
Nope. According to them, less than 10% of the funds were stolen and the team was able to secure the remaining funds to cold storage. Now I can't confirm the accuracy of their claim, but at this point I believe them. Finding the hackers is like searching for a needle in the haystack. It is going to take a lot of time and manpower, and there is even a chance that this hacker will never be find.
Months after the hack, Cryptopia came back, and almost fully functional for their customers, so it is good by now to see they worked hard to keep their customers satisfied and by now, at least their customers might not get losses with official statements from the exchange. They still have a list of priorities to do, in which coins listed in order for the exchange to do wallet upgrades before enable functions of those coins, and allowing active tradings for them. Generally, Cryptopia have finished their priorities orderly to bring all coins listed on their platform coming back after the hack.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Bull is in the Crypto Arena on: April 26, 2019, 02:13:53 AM
With a very volatile crypto currency indeed we are required to be patient. This crypto currency is like a cycle that can be likened to a wheel which is sometimes above and below. It can also be likened to the state of sea water which sometimes tides and tides.
Yes, I can not disagree with you. In crypto, we need: cycle, patience, and tides. Cycle and tides are basics of crypto market, so we don't have anything to do with them, what we can and have to do as best as possible is keeping our patience as long as possible to wait for best chances. Losing patience might lead to investments too soon, nearly spikes or peaks, and more probability to see bigger losses. Patient investors, usually have better ROI than impatient ones. For bitcoin, someone who were patiently, but not patiently enough would bought bitcoin around $6k months ago, but extremely patient investors waited longer and bought it below $4k. It's perfect but it is obviously that there are so limited investors can wait for months like this.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Bull is in the Crypto Arena on: April 25, 2019, 08:30:52 AM
Bull or Bear, they both have to take a rest sometimes along the way. So, I have a question for you in case we have actually been in a Bull market (let's assumed we have been real Bull market). Have the Bull market reached its rest station after nearly two months of moving upwards? If yes, it's good because that what I thought of, so I agreed with you. If your answer is no, so which points do you expect the market will hit before it take a rest for a while? Months ago, bitcoin suddenly dropped from the $6000 range to around $4000 within several days. I believe that if bitcoin can keep moving up, it will stop somewhere around $6000, that is very closely from current price of bitcoin.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] (QTUM) - A Scalable Smart Contract Platform w/ Proof of Stake on: April 25, 2019, 08:01:05 AM
Suddenly lot of developments and team representative also returned and is active fully all this draw very positive scenario. You have so many things to read that one can't simply focus on a single feature to disk. This update report is best but what was of my immediate interest was support for Trezor in wallet changing section and addition of new page on website for updates related to nodes.
Recent more actively communication and developments of QTUM have actually brought so much hope for QTUM community. It has lots of meanings for them after long period of holding, and waiting for returns of QTUM. If we simply look at the chart of price over last one year, the QTUM has fallen from about $23 to $2.5 today. It means the coin lost nearly ten-times from its all year high from 2018 till now. Fortunately, their team have come back with more news, more regularly communication, and promised things to finish and release in the very near future. Congrats!
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any idea about cryptopia on: April 25, 2019, 05:43:40 AM
I am also the member of Cryptopia exchange and at the moment only BTC withdrawal is enable in working hours so trade your coins in BTC pair and then withdraw your fund this is the only option for the time being.
Even with Segwit, withdraw via altcoins will be much cheaper than through bitcoin, in my opinion. So, if Cryptopia actually want their customers keep using their platform, keep staying in their exchange, they should do more. Of course, they have made huge loads of works to come back, and enable withdrawals for their users, but they should do more. In next few weeks or few months, if they can not bring more convenient to their users, they might fail. Let's look at Poloniex, Bittrex, which were biggest crypto exchanges, then due to their wrong strategies, and bad supports for customers just over a several months, their first position took over by Binance, and so far they even can not get it back.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any idea about cryptopia on: April 25, 2019, 02:30:11 AM
I don't want to offend Cryptopia, and don't want to deny all kinds of initiatives they have made so far to bring their exchange back to customers. However, there are abundant exchanges in the market, so investors and traders have lots of different choices to choose place for trading. Personally, I don't have any issue with Cryptopia, since 2017, with my withdrawals, deposits, and tradings there. I fortunately did not get troubles with them with their recent terrible hacks months ago, because I withdrawn all my BTC just a month before hacks. The Cryptopia exchange has good user interface, better than lots of other exchanges, but for security reasons, I don't have plan to keep trading on Cryptopia.
