361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New to Bitcoin, looking for some advice... on: December 29, 2017, 01:31:41 AM
Hi everyone

I have known about Bitcoin for many years, but did not have the money to invest until now. I know many think it is a bad time and the bubble will burst, and from what I know there is no way of telling what will happen next, so it is just a risk to be taken.

It seems that as there is a dip right now that its not a bad time to invest. I am from the UK but currently living in Thailand for the next few months. Can anyone reccomend the best/safest place to buy Bitcoin if I'm from the UK. Is it possible when I am here in Thailand?  My cousin said he used an offline wallet called Electrum, but said I could just leave the Bitcoin in the accoun of the place I bought it from. What is the best thing to do, what site would you use?

I was thinking of buying £1000 worth, and just leaving it in and seeing what happens over the next few years. I do not plan to constantly buy and sell, or to build up a portfolio of other cryptocurrencies.

Does £1000 seem like a reasonable investment at this point in the game? Obviously if Id invested that at the start of the year Id be very happy now, but I guess the likelihood of similar returns in the next year are unlikely, but who knows!!

Also, are there other crypto currencies you think might be a better investment, or better to split with Bitcoin?

Thanks, any advice greatly appreciated

Yes , it is a great time to buy now since Bitcoin price is steady, if you are going to hold it for years then I suggest to buy some altcoins as well.

You need to diversify, for the altcoins you may want to search what has potential in the future.

362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How foolish are people who invest in Bitcoin? on: December 28, 2017, 04:01:41 AM
How many idiots who decided to invest in bitcoin!!!!!!!

It is necessary not to watch as he grows from 15000 to 17000. This is a visual illusion.
And as it grows from 1.5 to 1.7.....

In recent days printed 180 million tether and still no big growth....
Lending on the stock exchange came to a billion dollars.
The credit rate on the day was a record and more than the 0.103%.

This means that the market has reached its peak. The price of cryptocurrency maximum.
This is the moment when you have to sell everything.

So began a process of growth needs the infusion of more money.... They're gone.

I think the joy of endless growth to an end this weekend.

Nothing in this world is eternal and permanent.....
And rising prices of bitcoin are not eternal.... all ends already.....

If you invest there are always risk and investors should know that, I agree that nothing is permanent and rising prices of Bitcoin may crash in a blink of an eye but that is all speculation. Nobody knows what will the price of bitcoin in the future.

As of now I can see potential on price growth  you maybe right or I can be right, investing is a game of chance but I like my chances more.
363  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people scam on: December 27, 2017, 02:12:37 AM
Scammers are not bad, they simply make an evaluation mistake, trying to obtain something in change of nothing.
It never works, even if sometimes you have the impression - on the short term - that it does.

You are the only person that saying scamming is not bad.

There are actually syndicates that scams and they earn millions.

Yes there are also small time scammers and can get a few money, but there are also big time scammers that can get everything that you have.

364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: December 27, 2017, 02:01:37 AM
Not at all! We should not misinterpret holding as greed. People hold or keep their Bitcoins because it’s an investment. And investors will play the game in order to gain maximum profit. And holding is a strategy of the game. It’s a fair game for everyone...

True, if you place your money in a bank do you think you are greedy? You are gaining at least an interest yearly.

Holding Bitcoin is just like holding your FIAT, Although we know Bitcoins price will rise you still need to remember that Bitcoin is still a currency.

365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth? on: December 26, 2017, 07:40:53 AM
Yes, social media is one of the most influential method to make bitcoin popular because now a days many people using social media and thats why many people will get interest and invest in bitcoin.
Yes, social media greatly affect the growth of bitcoin because its always an instinct of us that if comes of money talking then the curiosity will follow and todays generation almost all people are following the social media.
Yes social media has big impact to bitcoin growth because when we use it for annoucement about bitcoin many people will can read about it and be aware about news not only in bitcoin but all happenings to all over the world because nowadays poeple is now always used technology and part now in their daily lives.

Exactly, if there is no social media and just rely on the news on tv we may never heard of bitcoin or altcoins. News control what they want to share and they cam be easily influenced by billionaires who wany to kill crypto currency.
366  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will either go to $8000 or $20000. on: December 25, 2017, 02:38:59 AM
In my chart $10k and $8k has a a strong support line if it dropped less than $8k it could go down as low as $3k to $4k.

Now my prediction it is unlikely to went down to $8k but if it does i will expect a panic and i bitcoin will continue its down trend. My real expectation is it will just be steady for now and keep accumulating until the next rally to $20k.

367  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: December 24, 2017, 01:30:55 AM
I think so , billionaires are smart when it talks to money , they invest and invest so their money will circulate and won't stop to grow .

Well yes they are smart but I think many of them are not willing to take risk in Bitcoin, They invest conventionally they put their money on stocks and commodities. Also  We still have well known investors that calling bitcoin a bubble and one of them is Warren Buffet.

368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop sending Bitcoin! on: December 23, 2017, 12:25:36 AM
Please kindly stop making Bitcoin Transactions for a day or two...The Blockchain needs to catchup!

Let's do a blackout for Bitcoin Transactions.

288000+ Unconfirmed Transactions.

https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions

HelpMyWallet.com

This is my cry for help...  Grin

I totally agree with you.. A lot of unconfirmed transaction in bitcoin now. I thought I was the only who noticed this one. That's why I did not have any transaction with bitcoin started last day.

Yes this is a nice idea, although i do not believe people will do this and if just in case we do this for a day most likely the next day transaction after the blackout will just be doubled.

The blockchain really need to have a breather but somebody should think a permanent solution.

370  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Education for trading crypto currencies on: December 21, 2017, 12:45:41 AM
Hello

I know there are thousands of books regarding tradings, in the past when i wanted to learn stock trading I joined a bootcamp and I learnt a little bit about Technican Analysis, supports, resistances and some indicatores like EMA, SMA, and so on.

1.  Does the same TA for stocks apply for crypto trading?

No. Crypto trading is very different from stocks. Even stock investors/traders/brokers already confirmed that bitcoin trading is a different ball game. No amount of TA can "predict" where the price is heading. No one even predicted from the beginning of the year that we are going to hit $9000++. The most I saw is $5000.

2.  Can you recommend me a few best books for TA crypto trading, the bootcamp I took was 5 years ago, so I have forgotten a lot of what I learnt.

Sorry mate, I don't know any books for TA crypto, And as far as I know, there's still none because as I have said TA is not applicable to bitcoin market. I might be wrong though.

3.   Can you recommend me some websites related to crypto currency trading? I would like to follow other people signals and analyze them.

https://coinmarketcap.com/ is a good way to start. Just go around the website and see if for yourself. As for other signals, I have no idea because I don't follow anyone. I make my own decisions.

4. Is there an exchange with demo accounts to try first?
Thank you

I think there is, but again, I can't help you with that because I started my crypto trading from scratch. No demo accounts for me, I just put my hands on the cookie jar and see it for myself. Goodluck though. Hope you because a successful trader.

There are a lot of websites that offers a demo account.

For the first question Yes, although Crypto and stocks are different the Basics of TA is the same. You may actually seek books for Forex because logically Crypto currency trading and Forex are the same. For tutorial videos use youtube.

372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $8500 bch on: December 20, 2017, 02:04:06 AM

373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to determine if Bitcoin is a bubble or not. on: December 20, 2017, 01:58:39 AM
I started this poll to better understand BTC use. What do people use BTC for that ordinary credit cards or cash would not work or are not preferable.

No one will be able to determine tif bitcoin is a 100% bubble. Most skeptics do not really understand blockchain technology or they have their own motives for bashing bitcoin.

For the question what to do people use bitcoin for you are basically asking this question what do people use money for. I personally use it for investment and trading i do not use it for purchases specially right now that the fees are really high.
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ethereum lead the Cryptocurrency market? on: December 19, 2017, 01:22:53 AM
Will Ethereum lead the Cryptocurrency market? If yes, then by what time?

Probably Yes, but that will not happen in the near future. To be honest bitcoin is not the best coin technologically, if you remove the price tag there are better coins in the market today and etherum is one of them.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yeah, we're in a bubble... on: December 19, 2017, 01:18:36 AM
After reading this, I know we're in a massive bubble now:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-12-18/fintech-mircocap-stock-jumps-2-400-after-touting-crypto-link

I'm off to the nearest business center to shout "BITCOIN!" and see if people start throwing sweaty money at me...

Possibly, but this people who are in the news and other people who says Bitcoin is in a bubble really do not know how cryptocurrency works. They just base it on the other markets.

377  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A crazy day! Who can explain? on: December 18, 2017, 01:31:02 AM
BTC jump From $17400 to $19300. Almost $2000 a day. Too crazy to catch it.
Is it a work of the Wall Street? Any correction expected?

Well if you check the previous days of Bitcoin charts this is now common.

Wall street possibly because getting listed is one of the big  catalyst that we reach the price today.

For the correction, Yes I believe that there will be a major correction that will happen in the future, I am not hoping for a crash but a little price pullback will be nice.
378  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Person stole 50k dollars from forum! F*ck! on: December 17, 2017, 03:10:38 AM
Wow you give away $50k to a random person sorry mate but there is nothing you can do about it, you won't recover it. There was already a link posted  where you can post as you mentioned the person is reputable here in the forum. Just report him so that others wont be a victim of this scammer.
379  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin period of volatility is over? on: December 17, 2017, 01:40:10 AM
It would not be over and volatility will continue. This is normal specially that more people are now attracted investing in bitcoin since it will be listed tomorrow.
380  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN @ $20,000 A PIECE BEFORE 2017 ENDS? on: December 17, 2017, 01:36:53 AM
It can even surpass 20k ( as it's keeping growing fast since it was 9 and remain in the same development rhythm ) and as you know there are 15 days left before 2018 , which is sufficiently enough period for bitcoin to hit higher levels

Exactly, we might see Bitcoin price at around $21,000 in the year end, Just look how much it gain in the last few hours $2000.
