you know i thought about that, but in the end I left it out because i do believe it affects all miners, even those not in the USA. Maybe not directly, and maybe they can't sign it, but it is important to all miners to at least make those aware that can sign. I hope this works because I would hate to have to file tax forms for that coffee and smores I bought in hollywood with bitcoin.

hey summersideguy, how goes it? And yes, I can ship to Canada, but would suggest BITMAIN first. This is more for West coast USA and local pickup but I am willing to send these anywhere.
But if you insist, then new price is .9377 btc and shipping to Canada will be 1. USPS PRIORITY INTL. 6-10 BUSINESS DAYS $55 or 2. USPS EXPRESS INTL W/ INSURANCE $90
Any questions, hit me back, but I have 6 units drop off right now, 1 to USPS, and 5 to FEDEX (and yes, you can send me your own labels). I have at least 10 in stock after this drop off, so give me a little time to handle this. thanks, sbfree

Mr. Finney, I just read the forbes article about you. It literally made me cry! You are an amazing person and this messed up world needs more idealistic people like you. I'm truly inspired by your personality and work! You have my deepest respect for ever! This world is a better place because of you and your contributions!
maybe this can help him and his family alittle. http://redd.it/21eajghopefully it does reach him!

Another Bitcoin founder could use our help.... http://redd.it/21eajgnot too sure about how real this is although it did show up on the front page of forbes. ps. followed it to one of satoshi's wallets it looks like. If he still has wallet access, then this would be a good thing.

I've been able to compare ScryptGuild, WeMineAll, hashcows, and LTCrabbit for 3 days. Among the BTC payout multipools (ScryptGuild, WeMineAll, hashcows) ScryptGuild consistently had a higher available cash-out balance at the end each of the 24 hour periods. hashcows having the lowest available to cash out. I know a lot of it has to do with the exchange/payout methods and timing, but ScryptGuild is the quickest to have funds available. Because of that, at every end of the 24hr period, ScryptGuild always has a comparatively higher balance. But I think in general, given all things even, they may all end up in the same ballpark. With some pools doing better than others and vice versa (just look at poolpicker.eu) However, at least in my testing period, ScryptGuild appeared to do consistently better, at least 4% better than WeMineAll. I gave up on hashcows because their payout scheme is so slow, which I can see why some people think they're kind of shady...especially if they only mine the pool for 24 hours or less. But I'm sure the earnings will end up in ballpark as well. Still, their user interface has remained stale for forever...no account ledger, no user stats, no proper account settings page...the only way to change your password is to go through the "I forgot my password" process...I've gotten tired of it. Not wasting my time with them anymore.
I'm pretty sure if I were to keep mining these three BTC payout pools, I will eventually see the same fluctuations of one doing better than the other and flip flopping back and forth. In the end, what keeps me staying at ScryptGuild is the user interface, quick exchange scheme and timing for faster and more accurate available balance, and the coin reserve options.
In comparing ScryptGuild to LTCrabbit, which is a multipool that pays out in LTC, I found that ScryptGuild really didn't do all that significantly better. Converting to USD, ScryptGuild only made a few cents more. Until harbor.ly becomes available to the US like coinbase.com, I'd rather not have to go through two exchanges just to get USD. So, ScryptGuild is still my primary choice. When harbor.ly becomes available to the US, then I may reconsider.
In the end, I think the days of multipools claiming better profits than others is pretty minuscule. Distributed hash mining is pretty common now, everyone with their own "custom algorithm". But, in the end, you're mining the same value coins and dealing the with same exchange rate issues. I think for pools to really be able to compete is to actually concentrate on creating a better user experience, a better user interface, a more transparent activity/accounting/monitoring. If LTCrabbit paid out in BTC, I'd probably be mining there. Their logo is silly, but their website is well laid out. Their statistics monitoring is complete. Fast exchange payout. An android mobile app (third party) that gives me exactly the information I want to see and in a proper format that is practical.
I am definitely rooting for ScryptGuild. I work with a programmer so I can understand the main priority is always the function versus the form, I get it. But in the end, given all things equal, it's always going to be the user experience that will sell a product. So, not only do I hope to see continued improvements on the engine that drives the profits, but also on the UI for continued improvement of the user experience. It's a lot of burden for one person carry, so I do have to give major props to eleuthria for getting this pool to where it is now. It's been an incredible development for sure.
indeed!

i would like to have some s2 mini or something 400-500gh/s and 400-500W ^go out and buy a few antminers to undervolt. 1TH+ is necessary if you are serious about equipment that will run for 6months+ I'm excited about this, but not everyone has the ability to be able to do this. of course, i understand that. however, it would not really be in bitmain's interests to start up another R&D plus production line for an S1.5 model. you can do any of these right now: Buy 3 antminers and undervolt = 400GH / 500W / 2.7BTC Buy 2 antminers and no overclock = 400GH / 800W / 1.8BTC Buy an antminer S2 unit = 1000GH / 1kW / 6.3BTC (sold out, and will take about 10 days longer to receive a batch 2 even if you did order) Buy 7 antminers and undervolt = 960GH / 1.1kW / 6.5BTC personally, the S2 makes sense if you want: a) included PSU ($200 expense for nice ATX vs $50 if you were modding server gear) b) fewer cords (1 ethernet and 1 power, verses 7 ethernets for a comparable hashrate of underclocked S1 units) c) simpler control (1 IP address rather than 7) d) better density (S1 units can be a bit tricky to stack and have wires going in all directions to the PSU) I ordered a batch 2 unit, but in retrospect almost wish i went with multiple S1 units instead. REALLY hoping that the S2 can overclock past 1.15TH if given good airflow and an extra 300W on that note: I would be willing to sell my Batch 2 pre-order at the right price - PM me if you want to offer AT LEAST 6.85BTC for it klondike, I am starting to regret my purchases of the s2 as well....especially since 2 days later spoondoolies tech went on sale and now I was tapped out. Dam. So I go with an Army of Ants for now. Now I am waiting on "Neptunes" for my Queen Ants to sit on, as my soldier ants sit on my jupiter.

i've been saying for long enough, as soon as these farms start to sell coins, the price is going to slowly drop. nomatter how tactical or how much a spread they try to make on the sell orders, regular volume on exchanges will make exchanges devalue the commodity. KnC and others like them are only making a rod for their own backs (and kicking us in the teeth in the process) - but you can guarantee that once they have mined BTC to double digit$, they will try and sell off all those used blades.
New coins make up a tiny regular percentage of trades. Besides, the number of bitcoins minted doesn't increase just because someone has a lot of hashing power.
but sell orders do when organisations have more than the lions share That's why there are difficulty adjustments. which has nothing to do with how an org sells it's stock. . Way to cherry-pick my quote. You misrepresented or didn't understand my comment about difficulty changes. I simply meant to point out that the number of bitcoins minted doesn't increase just because some organization has a lot if hashing power. Each block still takes approximately 10 minutes. A big organization will take more of the blocks. But I don't see how this is going to significantly drive the price of BTC down. There are many other things that can do that much more easily like the failure of the premier BTC exchange. I actually think that a major decrease in people investing in new hardware bought with BTC is likely to have a significant effect on BTC demand therefore driving down the exchange rate. I don't understand what your "regular" comment is supposed to mean. early on in the asic game, it was BTC ONLY as form of payment....no btc meant you had to go out and buy some to get the hardware...price goes up?? with vendors now all taking wire transfer, paypal, credit cards and btc, then we have the likes of BITMAIN looking to dump btc is 1000 minimum quantities does not help price
