2112, what can you tell us about KNC's latest post/picture of the PCB....your opinion is highly regarded, thanks.

I've spoken personally to a couple people now about their dealings with TerraHash as well and it's not favorable at all?  What is going to happen, people like Intel and Samsung coming in and crushing all the small time players?  I am just looking for my small piece of the pie here.

Just buy bitcoins then. Or buy from a company that has stock in hand already, like bitfury. If you want to take a risk and invest into a pre-order I would suggest going with KnC. Also make sure you check out http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/

Is http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/ the best calc to use at this point?  I see a bunch of them out there and this seems to be the only one that is either very accurate or is the least favorable.

It's very pessimistic, it takes into account the compunded exponential rise in hashrate, rather than a fixed rate over time, that's why it's become popular. It's not accurate though, nothing can be unless it can foresee the Bitcoin SP, and related price fluctuations.

Also it bases prices of kit bought in November and beyond on what details we have now. Miners won't be selling for those prices come Jan. They will have to be priced more competitively.

Crucially for KnC buyers is what happens between Sept and Jan and how quick we can plug in units configured to wallets, which is also out of out hands currently...

Bitcoinorama, I noticed you said "we" in your last line....I take it you are a buyer of at least one of these units then? I do recall you stating early on that you were interested in a possible PR type job with an ASIC company....but I don't recall you stating that you were also a buyer of a KNC UNIT.

Just checking is all....

If you'd check the thread from the beginning the entire purpose of me going there was to check they existed for my own purchase. Additionally I wanted to check out an engineering firm in a discipline I'm heavily interested in. At no point ever have I said I wanted a PR type job, although that's generally what people try to position me as. Largely as London has more advertising than engineering roles, and i'm well spoken. The rest is pure speculation from a forum. Though, I studied an engineering discipline from a highly regarded UK Engineering University, it would be interesting to actually use the degrees I entertained the debt for.

I hope I didn't rile you up bitcoinorama....I have actually read every single page in this thread and then some.....and I just don't ever recall you stating that you had purchased a unit, or rather ordered it because purchase would imply delivered/received.

Anyhow, I have ORDERED a Saturn from KNC....although it is not day 1 or day 2, it was ordered very shortly after, so maybe "day 3" for me,
HOW ABOUT YOU?

I just called KNC from USA and no answer....lunch time.....called again couple minutes later and got an answer....althought not what I wanted to hear...arrggghhhh

BUT on the other hand, they didn't try to get at my money like a potential scam most likely would have....so all in all postive.

hh, what you want to hear?.)

BUT on the other hand, they didn't try to get at my money like a potential scam most likely would have....so all in all postive.

Answers? Only 15 bucks upfront!

To answer you both.....

I ordered the  Saturn (paid in full many many days ago so I should be day 3 if there is such a thing) and as I tried to upgrade to Jupiter, my credit card payment would NOT go through, so I placed the order but did not fulfill the purchase.

As I was able to figure out my credit card problem I called KNC to see if I could still complete the transaction ( or in other words pay for the upgrade.)

The answer I did not want to hear was 'NO, you can't pay for upgrade anymore.'

The answer I DID WANT was 'Yes, we will gladly take your money for the Upgrade.' WHICH is exactly what a scammer would have said if this is a scam.

So minerpumpkin it is a hell of alot more than $15 for the Saturn and the upgrade.

The guy who answered said that they will be selling upgrades for us to install once they start shipping but no price or timeline given, nor did I ask.

Call for yourselves and ask away....

literally 3 orders are outstanding, 2 with own labels (emailed) 1 with me handling shipping (PM'ed) <-- packed, waiting on labels  Grin

5100 USB miners went out. and 100 blades are out.  1.8Th/s (1,806,600 Mh/s) added to the network.

I've again learned from running #20/21 (as I have with each batch) and #22 will be much more precise and simpler for all.

Whew!!!

Hey Canary Awesome job!  BTW, am I one of the 3 remaining or rather top 3 in line for next GB #22?
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 17, 2013, 08:12:30 PM

I know Bitfury is the real deal. I never doubted him, he's gone as far as proving the device and displaying a big 600gh/s rig, but you just don't know what else those chips have been made into.

ASICminer have been itching to increase their hashrate and have needed the exponential rise to do so.

Bitsyncom's chips left TSMC at the end of June, who knows where they are. Horserider apparently ordered some on  the blackmarket and they've just arrived. That seller had been in possession selling Avalon chips for a month. You can buy them today, yet none of the group buys know when to expect their chips.

There could be unknown private developers, about now could be a feasible time to expect them. We don't know.

Butterfly Labs has claimed to be shipping a lot of Jalepenos, Little Singles and a few Minirigs...

I see canaryinthemine pumping the sh%t out USB asicminers and Eruptor Blades....

Canary, hope there aren't any more sleigh troubles for you or your elves and watch out from them kitty kats. Can you please check to see I was able to re-send you the correct verification info. when you get a chance. thanks.

Can someone explain to me? I sent this guy money, I sent a signed message, I sent a shipping label. but he keeps saying he cant verify my message? Am I doing something wrong?

I went on blockchain, found my transaction. Saw the account it came from, use that in the account line, and wrote my message, and generated a sig. sent all these to canary...

hey mvrk10256. I had trouble too. I am a newbie but I figured it out. Here is where I went wrong.

1st in blockchain.info  use the transaction id to find the wallet address you sent from. then in bitcoin-qt got to file, sign message

in the 1st line you input your wallet address (and if there is more than one choose the first 1 in the transaction chain).

Then put your info in the message, then click to sign. Then I went to verify tab to verify message. I copied and pasted everything, BUT I

into trouble by trying to copy and paste the signature, instead I had to use the clipboard button right next to the signature line, or I could

not verify. Canary told me I should be able to copy/paste, but it wouldn't work for me. Still waiting to hear from Canary to be sure he did

verify, but I was now able to verify myself only doing it this way.

oh, and an Uninterrupted Power Supply (APC was #1 back in my day, not sure if still is) not only keeps your unit on, if it has the software/hardware interface, it will power itself off nicely, instead of a sudden shut down, and when the power SURGES back on, the UPS and has built in surge protection, so a wise investment when spending more than 3K+ on a computer/hasher.
876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 14, 2013, 09:23:50 PM
Tongue  I think one person is speaking of power supply for the miners, while the other is speaking about "Backup power supplies"
PSU(Power Supply Unit) = ATX = UPS(Universal Power supply), But any backup 120/240v power supply is also known as a UPS(Universal Power Supply) as well.

not to be the stickler nazi, but I think it is UNINTERRUPTED Power Supply. Just an FYI.

Still not heard back from KNC ... for 12 days now ...

Kano, I take it neither has CKOLIVAS?
878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 14, 2013, 12:53:05 PM
After much observation, it is very likely Bitcoinorama is a shill. He goes above and beyond to defend KNC and proclaim how great KNC is in every aspect, but is extremely critical of their competitors.

That is only my opinion though. I know he's going to reply to this stating otherwise, but whatever...

BTW: No, you do not have to be paid to be a shill. Merriam-Webster: to act as a spokesperson or promoter

A shill could also be related by blood or kinship. I don't agree with anything yet, just saying.
879  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 08, 2013, 04:08:29 PM
Topic might be  News 8/9/13, but the fact is his post is "NEWS." And secondly, just prior to his post BTC price started to drop and at the time of posting BTC price dropped some more.....does not bode well.
880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 06, 2013, 06:34:18 PM
...It's a PCB board and some chips...

Then if everything is on track, when can we realistically expect to see a prototype board and chips hashing? Unless KnC is running significantly behind, or even ahead of schedule, this is not an unreasonable request...

Sometime in September, this was said at the open day.
The design process we were told was to make equivalent of the final device but plug in some low hashing FPGA boards that they'd send us and then we (KnC, ckolivas and myself) would be able to work on ironing out any kinks before the ASIC chips turned up.
Of course with the ASIC chips there would no doubt be more 'ironing' but most likely minimal.
That was KnC's idea.
We're still waiting to find out when that might happen ...

Kano, thanks for the info, and we await any info. you can provide this forum in regards to KNC, even they are sometimes a bit cryptic....lol.
