121  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 31, 2013, 09:25:51 PM
That's great but it took the owner of eligius to let us know. You are a day late and we are dollar(s) short. Next time don't tell us you are going to ship on the (21st) then go completely silent. Thousands of dollars might not be a lot to you but it is to me, and i will find out where my money and equipment is.

When you make a Scam Accusation on Dec 26, in the middle of the Christmas-New Year break, it will take few more days than usual to get an Official Response.

Your libelous accusation of HashFast mining for themselves using customer hardware is a very serious charge tantamount to theft.  That thread should have been moved to Scam Accusations, not left in Custom Hardware to lower the signal/noise ratio.

You accused HashFast of self-mining based on no evidence other than an Eligius account's stats, so of course it took the owner of Eligius to definitively repudiate your slander.

Please consider deleting your false and defamatory thread accusing HashFast of mining for themselves using their customer's hardware.

Thank you,

HashFast Community Liaison

Anyone get a tracking number yet?

Yes:

I have my tracking number, but not from HashFast (FedEx called me to confirm some details on the shipment).
I presume this means they've begun shipping, even if they haven't given out the tracking numbers yet...
123  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 31, 2013, 08:51:57 PM
Hashfast what is going on?

1. You show us on  Dec 8th you were assembling boards.
2. You show us that you are mining on the live network around  Dec 20th.

We are now to assume that you are hashing with our equipment.
Unfortunately your extremely poor communication skills and performance so far will leave us to assume the worst.

We have internal test systems.  A few of them, like the Baby Jet in our office that is part of the Eligius mining pool, are doing actual mining.  This is to do a full, end to end, system test.  None of these test systems will be shipped to our customers.  We will not use customer systems for our own purposes, especially mining.

Best,

-HashFast Community Liaison

Jesus Christ, I thought I made it more than ludicrous enough that no one would believe it, especially since it's just a copy and paste of the last update. I guess I should have added a line or two about the new Dyson Sphere that's going to power the Sierra arriving for testing.

HashFast_CL, people wouldn't have to waste time messing around with jokes if you would actually give productive updates on where shipping is at and when you plan to start moving out the units. I'd also like to know who you are and what your relationship is to HashFast. I can't help but feel that we've been thrown another random poster like cypherdoc who supposes to speak for HashFast but when push comes to shove does not actually represent them and can't speak for them.
Are you directly employed by HashFast and do you have the authorization to speak for them as their agent?

"Dyson Sphere powered Sierra"   Cheesy

I started as a contractor and from today go full time to assist with technical support.

I can only relay what I hear/am authorized to and so can't speak for customer service with regard to refund type stuff.

The "CL" stands for community liaison; my role is to facilitate communication between the community and the company.

I don't have any new information about shipping dates, but am as eager as everyone else to start hashing!

Best,

So all your orders will be shipped and delivered in the next 9 days, with a major holiday happening in the middle?

Yes, we anticipate delivery in the next 9 days or sooner.  Otherwise refunds will be issued.

Batch One is currently being tested.  All orders are being sent overnight.

If you are trying to host your BabyJet at a colo that only accepts rackmount, there may be an adapter capable of converting the ATX desktop to rails.

This is what I found:

The Baby Jet will not be able to be modded to be rack mounted. It may be possible with other cases, but not the one used for Baby Jets (I think its a corsair 750D). It is too wide to fit in a standard 19" rack. In addition, the radiator is mounted in the top of the case, if it was mounted in a rack the hot air would pool between it and the adjacent rack.

Thanks for the correction.  It's refreshing to discuss custom hardware in the 'Custom Hardware' sub for a change.

That post aught to be deleted. People keep believing it.

I reported that post for trolling and disinformation.  It's especially cruel to new members and non-native English speakers.

But Gmaxwell choose to further confuse HashFast customers, in order to punish HashFast.

Time for a new, less-petty, more even-handed Hardware Mod willing to objectively enforce (and follow) the rules set forth here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=139380.0

Here are some points on this subforum's ground rules— some of them are just reptition of the overall forum standards. Most of this should go without saying, but it seems a few people need some reminders.

Stay on-topic.

All threads created should be about custom mining hardware, its operation, or its production (including the companies making it or the technology involved).  Generally the subject matter should be boring— technical, procedural, dry things. We're talking about custom hardware for mining here, not civil rights or awesome rock concerts.

Within a thread all messages should pertain to the subject of the thread which is described in the thread title or original post.  Avoid tangents and especially avoid responding to tangents.  Off-topic posts may be spindled, folded, or mutilated at the moderators discretion.  Posts by an equipment manufacturer or their staff in a thread about that manufacturer are automatically on-topic regardless of their content. (If they want to make a fool of themselves thats something everyone would find interesting)

Posts should generally not make people angry. If you expect that your post will make people angry that is a sign that it may be in the wrong sub-forum. However, in some rare cases factual material about custom hardware or its vendors will make people angry. In these cases it is all the more important to be dry, factual, and to avoid speculation.

In all cases, do no harass or stalk people.
Keep your behavior civil and professional.  Harassment will be ruthlessly deleted or edited until it is a mockery of the poster (in all cases edited posts will be marked accordingly). If you are in doubt about a behavior it is probably harassment. Don't do it. If you feel you need to investigate a party that has scammed you, take it to the scam accusation sub-forum.  Be the better man: Just because someone is a jerk that doesn't justify you becoming one.

Feel free to provide criticism but don't belabor it. Making the same point over and over again is spam. Making multiple threads about the same subject is spam. Spam will be ruthlessly deleted or edited until it is a mockery of the poster.  If you think important criticism is at risk of getting missed cooperate with other posters and write up a even handed summary of the issues.  Pointers to well written third party summaries may be stickied, if their material is reasonable and of general interest to custom hardware participants.

To avoid wasting people's time avoid bumping threads with pointless +1s, meme images, or "inb4" messages. Silence is golden. If you don't have something substantive to say, please say nothing at all. If you're not sure what the topic of a thread is either don't post in it or only post to ask for clarification.

When he did post, months ago, he used the main HashFast account.

So this is him?

We will be shipping in October.

He's got plenty of time to make promises, on the forums, but when it comes to answering for those promises, he's "too busy"? Gotcha.

That post is from early August, before we had even taped-out and when things were a lot more quiet.  It states the earliest anticipated shipping date at that time.  Since then the anticipated delivery date window has been narrowed based on subsequent events.

Several HashFast execs use the main account (John, Simon, Eduardo) so I'm not sure which one wrote it.

The important thing is what the TOS states as the guaranteed delivery date, which for Batch One is Dec 31.

132  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Icebreaker - Hashfast CEO alter ego on: December 23, 2013, 07:12:56 AM
Claiming that he is in Canada is hardly proof.  Last time I checked, they had "the internets" there.

Regardless of his current location, Eduardo is far too busy testing Batch 1 to be posting on internet forums.  That's why I'm here.

When he did post, months ago, he used the main HashFast account.

"Ice"breaker is an early "Ice"drill investor.  Icedrill is using HashFast ASICs, so it gets confusing!   Smiley

I wish you guys didn't promise December so we could enjoy that video as much as you do. It's very impressive.

The chip shooter and wave solder are my favorite parts!
134  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Icebreaker - Hashfast CEO alter ego on: December 23, 2013, 07:00:13 AM
Spoiler Alert:

Eduardo is in Canada testing Batch 1 and has always used the main HashFast account to post here.  He's not Icebreaker.
135  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Icebreaker on: December 23, 2013, 05:03:30 AM
I split this off the CoinTerra thread because it's not really relevant to CoinTerra.

Hashfast_CL reported dhenson's post above for "stalking", but if it is really the case that Icebreaker is an agent, investor, etc. in Hashfast it would be very interesting to the many people here who his conduct has irritated and would potentially be material information in future litigation undertaken by hashfast customers.

However, I don't think the speculation will do anyone good at least not when it elevates itself to becoming unfounded accusations.

There are some forum members who claim privately to have uncovered some tremendous revelation, I hope they make their results public so that people have no reason to speculate.

I also reported dhenson's Eduardo harassment post for being off-topic, which it is.

Is it forum policy that anything goes, unless reported?

I checked the sub-forum rules you wrote, but the only relevant thing I found was this:

If you feel you need to investigate a party that has scammed you, take it to the scam accusation sub-forum.

Doesn't this thread, which has more to do with investigation than "Custom Hardware" violate that rule?

Thanks for the moderation gmax.  It's not fair to make the patient silent majority of HF customers wade through pages of offtopic posts.
