lol, if someone or some group has all the bitcoin, then bitcoin is dead. It's no different than someone create a new coin and hold all the coins minted. Without people's usage, the coin is worthless.

Bitcoin will always be the first because there are large number of people supporting it. Also there are powerful interests groups supporting it. Of course all of this is because bitcoin is the first one in the space.

I buy everything with bitcoin, from books to furniture (overstock.com), and services (internet, VPS, etc). Now it's really easy to use bitcoins, hope more and more services will support it.

Started to use bitcoin in 2013 when it rushed to $100. Lol, at that time mining was not too difficult, with 3 GPUs I was able to mine some bitcoins with pools, lol not today.

When there are easy money, people all want to rush in, there's no fault for the scammers, there's the fault of no rules and regulations. In today's world, people tend to cheat in order to get money, especially they can get away with it, altcoin is a perfect vehicle for this.

Of course you can, just download any bitcoin wallet like bitcoin core and transfer the bitcoin to your wallet on the computer, make sure you encrypt the wallet so people can not access it easily.

99% ICOs are not legit or simply not worth investing. You want to speculate, it is fine. Some good coins are not really doing ICOs. Many ICOs are for pump and dump.

You can sell as much as you want on coinbase, the proceeds go to your bank account. Coinbase will report the sales to IRS, and you will need to add it into the tax return to IRS.

How does one build qt 4.8 projects on qt 5?
I use the greaterThan(QT_MAJOR_VERSION, 4): QT += widgets and added -static but the compiled file throws runtime errors on opening or sometimes closing. Is there anything else to do?
I don't know about building a 4.8.x bitcoinQt on a Qt 5.x system? But when I build 4.8.x on a 4.8.x (Windows 8.1) system, I found I got similar errors if I didn't delete all the .obj & other files in the build directory. The make file isn't too bright about what needs to be compiled and what doesn't. Ron My build dir is already clean. I compiled a clean source. No luck so far. I think this runtime has to do with how qt is not statically linking libs. I pasted some dlls into the coins release folder but no dice. Looking at http://www.qtcentre.org/threads/27729-statically-link-Qt-libraries-%28not-build-static-library%29 I tried the suggestions there and I still ended up with a dynamically linked bitcoin-qt.exe or *coin-qt.exe If you look at message #1 in this forum it is not clear what Qt is created on one's system. I did read, but can't find the link now, that one needs to build a set of libraries for Qt that are dynamic for the use of Qt creator and Qt designer (if you use them) and a set that is static for building one's applications. I don't know if that is so, nor how one would keep the environment straight   Ron I still haven't figured this one out. And I stopped hacking at it for now. Did you find anything helpful? } Above extract from the code. (1). 10 billion premine, no mining. (2). PoS setting is wrong, every block mature will get 0.38 coin, regardless how long you hold and how much coin in the block. Clearly it is done by a novice programmer, know very little about the altcoin code (or programming in general). The coin will be dead as there will be virtually no block being created, 1 premine block, and another one for pos, lol, great job. Another newbie scam. |

lol, any hack is illegal, but do the hackers care? if they do care they won't do this. Clearly they don't care and they do it for money or curiosity. It's like rob a bank, it is illegal but still there are people doing it.
