328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cloakcoin's PoSA is not a trustless system for anonymous transaction on: August 01, 2014, 07:14:36 AM
The "IF" block does not exist today. Did Cloakcoin implement that? This may be troublesome, as you need to write a temporary block into the formal chain and at some point (say 10 blocks later) rewrite it in permanent form.

Moreover, if the "IF" block exist, how to do you the sender (or whoever created it) write it in good condition? If the sender is a cheater, he can write a false condition that will fail, and Node#1 will stupidly send the coins to Joe, and sender will get his coins back. How can you prevent that? Remember this is an automatic process, no one is going to inspect the blockchain by hand.

Same for Joe, since the 1st coin already in his hand (#1 _POSA address is his, so basically he already got the coin, he can write a fraudulent IF block and get double amount easily).

Conclusion: this will not work as there's nothing force the sender/receiver to behave correctly.

Yes I agree, these are the issues. There's nothing forcing they write good "IF" in the block they post to the network. So this can easily be fraud.

Since sender is the one who write IF. So his IF can be to check an address he created, instead of the receiver created address. He is the one who post the "IF" tx to the network, he can do anything he wants.

Also the second top left white box "10 Blocks..." it mentioned Node#1, then Node#2, does not make sense to me. Is it a typo? The Node#2 should be Node#1? Roll Eyes

As promised a more technical whitepaper has been posted a few minute ago. Its a diagram explaining how POSA works:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=637704.msg8128502#msg8128502

Interesting diagram. However, the so called "block escrow" does not exist. Does cloak implemented such block? I can see potentially there are problems to make network confirm the block.

voting on bter must be made by group of us who have bter points, i don't use their site maybe once in the past so i put all my votes for super but it was only for one Sad

If we have members who trade on bter please vote, you have from 1 to 10 free votes per hour without using your bter points which are maybe enough for a lot of votes.
so many suck coins are in the top position that i am ashamed of my self Cheesy

i found this email : admin@mail.bter.com

lets organize and all of us email the admin to add super !
together we can move mountains !

Do you want dev team to lick your organs so you can activate your powers?
Come'on

this is a very stupid team lead, you think this is the way to push people to help you? you push people to the other side. Supercoin seems a great coin, but with very poor lead and promotion. Sucks for the super holders.
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EAC] EarthCoin - EAC v1.3.1 Now Available! Fixes latest SSL vulnerability on: July 26, 2014, 12:54:17 AM
Earthcoin is a interesting coin, but i don't like it, that they didn't change the dilution problem as if they would have done that then we would be trading at 100sats.

I concur. The earthcoin should start a V2 like many other coins to vitalize it. The V2 should be X11/X13 PoW/PoS and use the new technologies such as anonymous wallet, and many other things, and should reduce the payout of the PoW blocks. It should maybe consolidate the existing coins such as 100:1. Unfortunately this can not be done in a smooth transition with existing EAC. It should be done as a new coin and then swap with the exisitng one, thus replace the existing one. This way the coin would be trading at least 20X the current price. The current coin is pretty much dead.

Stake weight is also important.

If you do not have at least 700.000 mature coins, do not expect your first stake after 24 hours. It will take longer, depend on your weight. If your weight stake is 1 then you have small amount of mature coins.

How much coins do you possess?

Over 1 mil. Finally staking... according to the wallet, only 24,560 days for first reward! Guess I will have to leave this wallet to my daughter in my will.  Wink

Good to hear that. Keep on staking.
Anyway that counter is not reliable. When you will boost your stash to 2+mio coins you will get reward every hour according to the counter  Roll Eyes

... also voted on that coinwarz for jpc

good coin!

HUH??

Current Block   297
Miners   21
Difficulty   51.979
Network   2.5954Gh/s
Pool Hashrate   5.2674 Gh/s
Total Payout   0 W8

Did u see this.

I won't read too much into the numbers, they must have copied config from some other coin, so something may point to wrong places. The current block number is correct though. I see the same in my qt client.
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][W8] Launched! Wonderful8Coin - X13, PoW/PoS|the more 8s, the more you get! on: July 24, 2014, 06:49:05 PM
since they copied config from another coin, usually 1st day some displays are not right. But at least it seems they continue finding blocks, which is a good sign.

I was just going to complain about the same thing....!!!! Please answer this or someone else post another pool , the W8

pool is inop and no one answering on IRC. BTW how is the Net hashrate so high??...Solo mining , doubt it??

I'm starting to think that HH's pool is diverting hashpower , they also seem to be very active lately in these ninja/newbie

launches and everytime we make the same complaints we always get the same answer "seems fine to me".........

+1

Maybe they are sleeping?

Do you know, @dfox101 , how many times I've heard that! And I hardly think you would be considered an unbiased source

for comment since you obviously promote HH's pool. Posting histories are easy to look up  Undecided

lol, this is the first time someone associate me with a pool. Nope I have nothing to do with it. Don't be too nervous man Grin I'd be more than happy if I could answer or solve your problem, but unfortunately I have nothing to do with HH pool.

Perhaps I misread your posts, my apologies then sir.  What is your take on this then?

I guess if it is just a display issue, I won't worry about it, but I am not sure if it functions correctly. The report of blocks found seems correct, a lot people mining there. My hashrate is 1/2 to 1/3 of the normal one I had, but again it seems a display or the way they calculated. I'd like to see they reply the questions.
